Here we go, as promised...

Yes Dino, I am M2T. Not in disguise though, just got really bored of my name.

So this thread can be a record of the last half of our pregnancies. I'm going to print out the original as a nice log of the first 5 months of the pregnancy.

This is thread we'll all be posting on when we go into labour!! I'm all excited now.

Hi Toothache (not stalking you through mumsnet, honest, just nothing better to do than go through all the active conversations!)

Definitely sounds like it could have been a show, but equally you do get more discharge at the end of pg. Was it at all pinky/browny, or just white. If pinky browny, likely to have been a show, if white just discharge.

As I understand it, you don't need to phone the hozzy straightaway with a show, but just mention it to the docs/midwife at your next appointment. I agree with your book that a show means you can go into labour at any point from now to the next fortnight - so I'ld get my hospital bag packed right now just in case, and take any period like pains quite seriously!

HTH

mummytosteven · 07/07/2004 13:03

PS - I didn't get my show until I was 5cm dilated and well into established labour - so it takes all sorts...

dinny · 08/07/2004 21:16

Toothache, how are things? Thinking of you. Hope all is well. Dinny x

Pennies · 09/07/2004 15:04

Oooh toothache - hope all is well!!

Just wondering if anyone has had any skin tags? I think I've developed a few under my bra line. What are they supposed to look like - mine look like raised freckles.

Have had skin cancer in the past so am very vigilant about any skin changes.

Pennies · 09/07/2004 15:06

Me again. has anyone heard from Dinosaur at all? She's gone all quiet on this thread so I was wondering if all was OK?

Toothache · 09/07/2004 19:35

Hi folks, thanks for all your messages. I'm still here and still preggers.... although getting cramping in my tummy quite alot!! I've started my RLT to see if that helps too.

35+2 today..... hopefully this wee one will arrive in the next 3 wks (at the most!!!).

Yeah, where is Dino??? You haven't sneaked off and had a baby have you?

SK - The race is on.

Glad to see you're still with us toothache been thinking about you this weekend.

Well I've had a hectic weekend - finally bought a car yesterday but there's a problem with the log book or something and we won't get it for 3-6 weeks so the countdown is on baby or car what will come first?

Today bought a dressing gown and slippers (don't want to use my posh ones) and the rest of my hospital bag makes it seem a bit more real though.

sibble · 10/07/2004 00:13

DH put the crib together yesterday, now seems much more real, just need to find a new mattress, didn't want to re-use DS's so threw it away but sizing is different in NZ to UK and now can't get one to fit - but is a good excuse to go in all the baby shops and 'window shop'. Have also started to get things ready to pack bag so need to buy nightie, cotton wool for baby and a few baby clothes, wasn't going to get anything and wait for package from my mum but can't resist a few things.
Hang on in there toothache - wonder who is going to be first.

sweetkitty · 10/07/2004 12:37

Morning ladies - how is everyone today?

Last week of work still doesn't seem real, got the most active baby ever in here she never stops

Toothache how's things anything else happened?

Need to order crib and pram this week.

dinny · 10/07/2004 12:46

can I ask your opinion, ladies. I'm due 5th Sept (sneaked on here cos active!) and - as some may know - had dd1 at 35.5 weeks. Would I be stupid to go to Cornwall at the start of August (will be same gest as when had dd, basically). I know there are hospitals there but I do want a homebirth and have got a doula lined up. Hmmm.

littlerach · 10/07/2004 12:51

Hi, Dinny, I had DD at 35 wks, I am now 36.3 wks!! Must say that 35 wks felt like a landmark, but you just can't tell. We are moving house this Friday, you have to get on with your life, remember you may go overdue! If you feel up to it, then I'd go, you may not be doing it again for some time!!!

dinny · 10/07/2004 12:53

I remember we spoke before about house moves. Ours bloody fell through last week. Good luck with yours!

Were you convinced you'd go into labour at 35 wks this time to? Do you know why you did last time?

sweetkitty · 10/07/2004 14:09

If it were me I would go but speak to your midwife and see what she says.

Good luck x

muriwai · 10/07/2004 14:45

Morning everyone!
36 weeks today and still people won't give me a seat on the tube .
But on the plus side, today is my last day at work so I guess I won't have to worry about that any longer .

Anyone else getting pain in the pubic/pelvic region? If I squat down or stretch my legs too far apart it really feels like I'm going to split in two down there.

Dinny, I guess second time round you can't really tell much from whether the head's started to engage can you? And would your Doula charge a cancellation fee? As a nervous first timer I'd probably err on the side of caution, but it would be sods law not to go and then baby's late...

I was on the tube on Saturday and didn't get a seat either, there was about 4 men facing me giving it the old look at me look at my belly and look away!!

I get tingling in my pelvic region muri but it's under my boobs that really hurt like babies got no room and is kicking and stretching me to bursting.

Have lost the will to live at work today

dinny · 10/07/2004 17:27

Bloody men on the Tube - b**tards!

I have got sooo long left at work - last day 30th July. Seems such a long time away - I must have been mad not to start mat leave sooner

muriwai · 10/07/2004 17:29

Sorry work's so miserable for your today SK - is it anything in particular or just Monday blues? Just think only 4 more days to go - then you'll be a lady of leisure .

My baby's kicking much lower down than that - sort of waistline level (if I still had one ), so I'm begining to wonder if she's dropped down already. I've got a scan and consultant's appt tomorrow so I guess they'll be able to tell me more - can wait to see her!

muriwai · 10/07/2004 17:31

Meant "can't wait" obviously.

When's your due date Dinny? Can't you leave any earlier?

sponge · 10/07/2004 17:57

I'm working til July 30th too Dinny and I'm due August 4th!
Just got back from 4 days in France for a wedding. Lovely to have a few days off work and get some sunshine. I got the all clear to go from the midwife just before but then on the plane last night got terrible backache and cramping. Was worried my waters would break inflight whigh would have been unpleasant for everyone .
Pain subsided though and all seems normal today - just the usual aching hips and wriggly baby booting me in the ribs and bladder.
He is head down but is OP so I need to do lots of lying on my left side and leaning forward in my chair to make him uncomfortable and encourage him to roll round.
Lots of little babies at the wedding so I'm in full broody mood now. Not long..............

dinny · 10/07/2004 18:00

Due date ages away - 5th September (not meant to be on this thread but ours is quiet!)

Just being lazy!

sweetkitty · 10/07/2004 18:18

wow sponge I'm impressed your working until the 30th July. Glad you had a good time in France.

I'm having 2 weeks holiday before the official start of maternity leave my official dates the 26th July. No one has told me whether the babies OP or AP yet just that's she's head down I know what you mean muri I keep looking at the pink babygros thinking I can't wait to see her in them.

Is anyone going to be doing the almond oil massage thing? Does it make a difference at all? Maybe I'll start a new thread on it?

muriwai · 10/07/2004 18:27

I'm thinking about it SK - can't do any harm can it? And I've got a pregnancy yoga video to try and get me into a nice calm state of mind over the next four weeks...

sponge · 10/07/2004 18:28

I massaged the old perineum morning and night last time and still ended up with an episiotomy and a big tear.
I think it makes bugger all difference, either that head is going to fit through or it's not.
Still if you could get someone to do the massaging for you.............. .
