Is Jude quite a common name ?

We are thinking along the lines of Jude for a boy and Casey/Kacey for a girl.

We named DD Evie and when she was born we knew of no other Evie's at all, now I know tons and read somewhere that Evie was the 2nd most popular girls name last year.
Although i still love the name, I wanted something that is going to stay a bit more original this time round.

Do you all know loads of Jude's and Casey/Kacey's ?

How funny- I just heard someone in the playground call her little boy Jude, and I'd just been thinking that was the first time I'd heard it (apart from Jude Law and Jude the Obscure, obviously). Nice name, though.

CountessDracula, I bet if you named a child 'Casey' at some point someone would think it was 'KC' (Sunshine Band man?)

beckybrastraps · 27/09/2006 16:51

The only Judes I know are women.

And yes, I know it's a male name, but there you go...

beckybrastraps · 27/09/2006 16:52

I know you didn't ask whether we like the names, but I do like Jude BTW.

southeastastra · 27/09/2006 16:54

I know one Jude in RL.

He really suits the name, somehow. He is a very lovely boy and it has nice connortations for me.

Have known several casey/KCs. Not hugely many, but some.

WelshBoris · 27/09/2006 19:50

Jude is not common, its a very lovely name

lucy5 · 27/09/2006 19:50

My nephew is called Jude, he is the only Jude I know. I love the name.

cece · 27/09/2006 19:54

I have always liked Kim for a boy. Please don't use Casey. Like Tess much better.

If you want something no one else try something like Paul or Christopher. LOL

or

Debbie!

I know a Jude (male) who's about 2. Like it though always think it's short for Judith.

What about Judith for a girl?

i know of 2 judes, both about 3 yr old. i think i like it, but i just can't get my head around it being a boys name. i like it because i like j names ( me and ds) and also because it's biblical. keep considering it myself (am preg) but i think i just know a female jude too well...

hulababy · 27/09/2006 19:58

I know of a Jude - he is about 4 or 5 now I think.

SSSandy · 27/09/2006 20:06

Never come across anyone of that name

chocolateshoes · 27/09/2006 20:09

I like the name Jude for a boy. DP wasn't keen so we didn't have it. I've never met one, but do have a friend Jude - short for Judith

Don't know any Caseys but am not that keen on it. Would have chosen Lila for a girl.

Boys names are much easier aren't they!
