Is Jude quite a common name ?

We are thinking along the lines of Jude for a boy and Casey/Kacey for a girl.

We named DD Evie and when she was born we knew of no other Evie's at all, now I know tons and read somewhere that Evie was the 2nd most popular girls name last year.
Although i still love the name, I wanted something that is going to stay a bit more original this time round.

Do you all know loads of Jude's and Casey/Kacey's ?

PMSL CD . We have Cod to thank for my lovely name.

Classic but not really common - would Jude or Casey fall into that category then ?

Tess was on our short list along with Jess and Isla

Well as Jude is biblical I guess so, not Casey though.

I personally don't like Casey but don't mind Jude. However Jude always seems a bit incomplete as a name to me, feels like it is shortened.

wasn't it Casey Jones who was a-steamin' and a rollin'?

bundle · 27/09/2006 15:28

if Tess and Jess were on your list
then you obviously need Stevie, after Evie

Pinkchampagne · 27/09/2006 15:29

I have not come across any Jude's & I work in a primary school, so have come across many names!
I have come across a few Casey's & am not over keen on the name.

CountessDracula · 27/09/2006 15:29

How about Roger or Derek

FoghornLeghorn · 27/09/2006 15:30

OK so what is it about Casey we aren't liking ?

It sounds a bit like something that might be shouted in a playground by a woman with greasy hair and a fag hanging out of her mouth

eg Casey and Chardonnay come and get yer turkey twizzlers...

nutcracker · 27/09/2006 15:32

Don't know one single Jude at all, think it's a lovely name though.

I like Casey too.

CountessDracula · 27/09/2006 15:32

Kacey worse

like KallKwik or Kosy Korner Kafe... yuk!

bundle · 27/09/2006 15:33

Krispy Kreme

CountessDracula · 27/09/2006 15:34

kwite

bundle · 27/09/2006 15:34

you're right CD there is something distinctly Yuk about K-things-that-shouldn't-be-K's

FoghornLeghorn · 27/09/2006 16:41

Ha Ha Ha - OK I get the point about the K's, I must stress it was DH who wanted it spelt with a K, I prefer the C option.

Didn't think it was up there with the turket twizzlers myself but there are a few on here who didn't like Casey - in fact I think Nutty was the only one on my side {SOB}

I know I've kind of been beaten to it but I'd say no, Jude isn't common, it's obscure....!

I'll get my coat

anniediv · 27/09/2006 16:45

BTW prefer Jude to Casey/Kasey/KC (isn't Kacey the name of the actress who plays Little Mo on Eastenders?)

NomDePlume · 27/09/2006 16:47

There used to be an MNer called JudeTheObscure, where did she go ?

Like Jude

Don't like Kacey/Casey

CountessDracula · 27/09/2006 16:48

KC, who the hell's KC??

(in the immortal words of B Fawlty)

NomDePlume · 27/09/2006 16:49

There was a kid at one of the primary schools I went to called Casey, she used to eat her own poo.
