it wont!

Beauregard · 28/06/2006 09:48

Use the money to buy a big cream cake instead

IHeartEnid · 28/06/2006 09:49

if they do it just make sure you slow right down, don't make eye contact and sing and look very cheerful

will drive them demented

MrsJohnCusack · 28/06/2006 09:50

ooh yes Enid
I do that
drives them mad heh heh

zippitippitoes · 28/06/2006 09:50

what about those flame thrower adaptations to the car that James Bond had? Might be more effective!

And more fun!

None of this old fogey wimp woman stuff

Bozza · 28/06/2006 09:58

It really won't work. If you don't like them buy the cream cake as suggested.

SophieB · 28/06/2006 10:01

now the cream cake has been suggested i think im going to have to buy one of those instead lol, as for one of those flame thrower things would love to get one but dont fancy being pulled over for it lol!! i suppose having one of those signs is a bit old ladyish!!! CREAM CAKE HERE I COME!!!

oh Enid, fab
I'm always getting overtaken on residential roads round here (driving at 30 is apparently totally passé and the police are never there - your story has given me hope!

NotAnOtter · 28/06/2006 10:08

great!!!!!!!!!

Gemmitygem · 28/06/2006 10:15

Here in Kazakhstan they have 'woman driver' signs. It's a high heel inside a red triangle.

I am not joking!!!

moondog · 28/06/2006 11:17

lol GG.
Hey,tell me about Kazakhstan!!
Dh offered a job there once. We were in Russia at the time, and now in Eastern Turkey.

Gobbledigook · 28/06/2006 11:32

Oh lordy, I cannot abide these signs. I saw one the other day saying 'twins on board' - yeah? so bloody what?!

LIke my name Moondog?

booge · 28/06/2006 11:34

Hate, hate, hate all car stickers (Have to be really strict with DH about this)Agree about the little princess on board being puke filled, even worse I once saw a car with both that and "Little Manchester United fan on board" then they got out and 6 month old was dressed in MU kit......

Please don't get a bump on board sign, makes me want to drive like a nutter and I've got a bump on board too.

iPodthereforiPoor · 28/06/2006 11:35

I never liked these signs before I had a baby but now if he is in the car then the baby-sign is put up. A few months back there wasw a bad accident on the A38 where a baby in its carseat was thrown from the car and landed in the side of the dual carriage way. It was only because his parts weren't too bdly injured that they were able to get out of the car and look for him..imagine if they hadn't been able to do that?
I take the baby on board sign out when DS not in the car now. I think it is more a warning for people like the emergency services - like wise - mum-to be sign might be the only way they would know you were pregnant if involved in an accident

booge · 28/06/2006 11:35

Oh yes and another classic to make you go into a driving frenzy "Show Cats on board" now I like cats but know plenty of people to whom that is an open invitation.

iPodthereforiPoor · 28/06/2006 11:37

PARTS = parents

Can't be bothered to correct the rest

zippitippitoes · 28/06/2006 11:38

but 99% of people with such signs in the car don't take them out when tehy are on their own so utterly pointless, in fact a time waster for the emergency services who will therefore ignore them

beckybrastraps · 28/06/2006 11:42

I saw a "babe on board" sticker the other day, on a white ford capri with a playboy bunny logo and pink fake fur seat covers. And it was parked in a Waitrose car park.

bubblez · 28/06/2006 11:51

SophieB - Go get your bump-on-board/mum-to-be sign hun if I was pregnant again or driving I would. As soon as DP is road worthy again the child on board sticker is coming out.

Only truely sick people would drive wreaklessly or dangerously arround/behind someone who has clearly shown that they have precious cargo on board.

bubblez · 28/06/2006 11:53

recklessly

Kathy1972 · 28/06/2006 11:59

Maybe if Princess Diana had had a bump-on-board sign things would have been very different for the Royal family.

Kathy1972 · 28/06/2006 12:00

'Little princess on board' signs make me want to build a guillotine.

bubblez · 28/06/2006 12:01

why was princess diana pregnant

zippitippitoes · 28/06/2006 12:02

it was her own driver who had the accident though and he knew he had a princess on board!
