I'm 38 weeks today. Just wondering if anyone else is around the same point. Starting to feel a little fed up and I could still be waiting 4 weeks for baby to arrive. I don't have any real symptoms of impending labour at the moment. I am getting quite painfull tightenings with some back ache but saw the mw on friday who said head isn't engaged yet so not expecting much soon. How is everyone else dping?

I woke dirtybaby initially to feed him but in retrospect I wouldn't bother, and he sleeps pretty damn fantastically at nightGrin dirtytoddler however is a liability. 3.30am he was up till this morningConfused I could have wept

Dirtymistress · 31/03/2013 16:38

Oh and afterpains with second/third birth. Hideous. Like being in
Labour all over again. Closer together your births are, worse it is apparently. Might well stop me having a third.

LuckyOwl28 · 31/03/2013 19:20

I slept in until 12 today and have still felt shattered all day. Went out for lunch with the family and have sat scoffing Easter eggs since. Bedtime soon.

Think this is my first proper 'pregnant day' as usually I'm up by 7 and out and about with endless energy.

Hope you're all enjoying your eggs too! xx

Newmum2013 · 01/04/2013 03:14

Congratulations to all the new mums and their little bundles! I'm officially one week overdue today and very fed up! Come on baby! Tried every trick going but nothing has worked!

sundaesundae · 01/04/2013 07:58

Well my water have gone and I appear to be contracting. Think I am about 20hrs away from a baby! [busmile]

Dirtymistress · 01/04/2013 08:48

Hooray sundae! Hope it's two hours and not twentyGrin

sundaesundae · 01/04/2013 09:17

COntractions seem very irratic, anything from 6 minutes to 20 minutes apart and lasting anything from 20-60 seconds, so not properly established yet.

Pontouf · 01/04/2013 09:48

Ooh exciting Sundae! Keeping my diners crossed for a pain free sneeze birth for you.

I am now the most pregnant I've ever been. DS was born at 39+2 at 9.31am and I am now past that. Spent around four hours on my bloody ball yesterday but nothing. My pelvic bones are so painful that I am only sleeping for about an hour and a half at a time and turning over makes me cry.

Plus my son has decided that 5am is a reasonable time to get up and even though my wonderful DH is doing the getting up 5 days of the week they are so noisy that they keep me awake for ages. Am just so fed up and there is no sign at all that this baby is in any way imminent. Trying really hard not to be grumpy around DH and DS but need to vent somewhere, sorry for the whinge Blush

num3onway · 01/04/2013 10:54

pontouf I feel your pain. My DC were born at 39+2 and 38+3. I am now 39+3 with no signs of a baby yet. Feeling bad for being moody but feel destined to be pregnant forever.

good luck sundae

39+3

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 01/04/2013 11:30

Wow good luck Sundae! That's how mind started so don't be disheartened - you're in the way! Do some squats and goose stepping (cos that's JUST what you feel most like doing right now!)

Sympathy vibes to all the overdue pregnant ladies - not long now. I know every day feels like a month but your babies will be here soon!

And if it helps, my nipples feel like they've been through a mangler. Aaargh.

Don't want to hijack the pg thread with new baby issues, so thought I might start a thread in Parenting or something to share bf issues and other whinges. Chatting to you lot really helped during pg so lets carry it on! I'll start one and link it here.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 01/04/2013 13:23

Newborn thread here

shomes · 01/04/2013 17:34

Grrrrr, still no baby here either 39/4 and have another stinking cold! Ds obviously likes sharing his germs! Really not looking forward to having him at home all week on my own but will attempt to go to the cinema tomorrow to keep him entertained. Loads of BH here too whole pineapple eaten last night but to o obvious effect! Lol. Hoping midwife will tell me I'm completely engaged on Friday ( living in hope) xx

Novia · 01/04/2013 17:38

Anyone else having a nightmare with backache in the later stages? Woke in the night with it and can barely sit/ walk today! Hmm Feeling very sorry for myself - come on baby, time for you to make an appearance...!

iheartshoes · 01/04/2013 19:20

Yes me !! 40 + 1 today , thought it might be things starting earlier but I don't think so , just same tedious old backache I've had since about 26 weeks ! Argh ! Congrats to all you ladies who have had your babies, very jealous, want mine now ! :)

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 02/04/2013 18:23

Good luck ladies! Sundae, any news??

ENormaSnob · 02/04/2013 18:30

39+2 with dc4 here and pretty damn fed up Grin

Curry for tea, followed by a whole pineapple and going to give myself a sweep later.

I just seem to be getting fatter by the hour!

ZuleikaD · 02/04/2013 18:55

41+5 here now. Bah! I feel like this baby has just forgotten to be born and is assuming he can just carry on in situ for the forseeable future. Induction Friday morning if no sign of him by Thursday night, but the MW was confident she could do it just by popping my waters if it gets to that, so I'd still get to go home soon after. Have also decided (nothing like the last minute) to go for a homebirth if things do kick off.

beanzmum · 02/04/2013 19:33

Hello all Grin Been checking the thread in the last couple of days and meaning to post, but somehow being home with a newborn and a 3yr old DD seeking your attention constantly makes getting online a lower priority ...

Oh zuleika I feel for you! I hope your DCs are behaving well and you have support around you? Sundae, any news?

Things are going pretty well here. DS emerged on Saturday morning at 41wks. Just when I'd resigned myself to needing my induction appt for this Thursday, I was woken at 1.30am on Saturday with contractions. We headed to the hospital at 4am (it's only a 10min drive at that time of day/night), we were given one of the birthing unit rooms and DS was born just after 11am. The build-up was reasonably 'slow and steady', then all of a sudden active labour kicked in - all 47mins of it (I think it was a bit longer than that, but that's what's on my labour notes). Only took 9mins to push him out (!).

Such a different experience to my labour with DD (9hrs active labour, epidural + forceps). I think it was probably down to DS being engaged for so long, and being so low down in my pelvis to start with. So although it was doing my head in waiting the last several weeks, I think it helped my labour go well & fast.

I hope that provides a little ray of light at the end of the very long journey for some of you?! (on the other hand, I tried pretty much all the natural induction methods, and none worked for me - although perhaps the RLT helped get my uterus ready for all those intense contractions!)

Novia · 03/04/2013 01:49

Ooh - think I might be in the way... Hoping its not wistful thinking! :)

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 03/04/2013 04:20

Good luck Novia!

Novia · 03/04/2013 07:11

Been in labour since 1am - absolutely knackered! Still very early stages though as contractions roughly 8 mins apart...

LuckyOwl28 · 03/04/2013 08:40

Oooo good luck Novia !

My best friend has also been in labour since last night but contractions irregular. Looks like she is going to beat me after all! So excited!!

ZuleikaD · 03/04/2013 09:02

Good luck Novia!

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 03/04/2013 09:02

Go Novia! Fingers crossed it won't be too long. Keep your strength up - drink lots of fluids.

twinklesparkles · 03/04/2013 09:25

Congrats to all of the new mummies :)
Good luck to those in labour

My show has gone today, woke up soaking, absolutely gross Grin but definitely a mucous plug and small bit of blood

Have some slight back/period type pain but I think that's just where I fell asleep, I tend to always have those pains after waking up... But let's hope today is different and something is happening!!

So I've woken up, come in livingroom, had quavers and cornetto for breakfast i know, I know, not healthy

Gonna do a bit of bouncing on the sofa.... I've not got one of the posh birthing balls :)

Come on baby!!!!!
