I'm 38 weeks today. Just wondering if anyone else is around the same point. Starting to feel a little fed up and I could still be waiting 4 weeks for baby to arrive. I don't have any real symptoms of impending labour at the moment. I am getting quite painfull tightenings with some back ache but saw the mw on friday who said head isn't engaged yet so not expecting much soon. How is everyone else dping?

Well, it's stretchy, but still posterior and not any more effaced/dilated than it was at my previous sweep on Tuesday. PITA.

num3onway · 30/03/2013 17:14

Well I thought my waters were leaking. They weren't.
So disapointed.

Sulking big time.

39+1

Novia · 30/03/2013 17:54

Seriously fucked off. 38+1 and just realised I have got stretch marks under my bump. I've been so good at oiling too and it's all gone to pot right at the end! Hmm

sundaesundae · 30/03/2013 18:25

I haven't really bothered rubbing anything in to my bump. I have six stretch marks, first one arrived on due date and then one extra per day ish from there.

They fade, don't worry.

twinklesparkles · 30/03/2013 19:39

39 weeks today,

Slightly freaking about waiting for labour to start .. How do you know? Other than being in labour obviously

I was induced at 36 weeks with ds due to complications.

Everythings fine this time, its just weird waiting..

I've had the raspberry leaf tea, sex, curry although my curry efforts were kinda crap, I don't like spicy food and ordered mild :) nothings happening.... I know technically it could be another 3 weeks... I hope not. I just want something to happen. I've had plenty of pushing and braxton hicks,,, but nope ..

Just want this baby out :)

Come on baby! You can do it :) :)

Novia · 30/03/2013 19:42

Oops - meant to say 39+1!

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 30/03/2013 20:07

Hi all!

Baby Whip born today at 17:42 this afternoon. Horrible horrible labour (sorry all!) way worse than last time. Gas and air did nothing so had to have pethidine Sad

Totally worth it though as he is sleeping milk-drunk on my tummy.

When he came out he pooed everywhere as did I and continued to poo all over me. Typical man!

Chin up ladies, hope all your pregnancy symptoms get better soon!

sundaesundae · 30/03/2013 20:41

YAYYYYYYYY!!!!! Well done Whip, sorry it was shit, but welcome miniwhip the poo monster. So pleased for you. xx

num3onway · 30/03/2013 20:52

Congrats whip, I am slightly green with envy! My second labour was worse than my first and I found the gas n air less effective too, I was actually ranting in labour about cut backs and them diluting it!
Hopefully labour no 3 will be easier!

Radiator1234 · 30/03/2013 22:14

SayCoolNowSayWhip he finally arrived! Yay! Well done and congratulations! What a bummer that the labour wasn't great. Ugh! Labour! Ugh! At least it's over with now. Take care and all the best!

LuckyOwl28 · 30/03/2013 22:27

Whip congratulations! I won't ask anymore about the horrible nature of your labour until I've had mine. Happy to stay nieve for now lol!

I've just been out for a madras and had half my Mother in laws single gin and tonic as she swears that's what triggered both her pregnancies! Still waiting...

Novia I have been oiling every night and having a bath with baby oil in every other and I've still ended up with stretch marks on my hips and, weirdly, the calf on my left leg! Hoping they fade...

Pontouf · 30/03/2013 22:30

Massive congrats SayCool, great news. Sorry you had a shit time, but very jealous of milk drunk cuddles. Have been dreaming of first cuddles the last few nights!

num3 I thought my waters were leaking a couple of weeks ago. Turned out I was just a bit sweaty Blush

Have had loads of raspberry leaf tea, bounced on my ball all afternoon and just had a curry. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. So fed up. 39 weeks today.

Dirtymistress · 31/03/2013 03:08

Congratulations saycool! Babycoolwhip has been a loooong time coming. I want gory birth detailsGrin dirtytoddler is refusing to sleep! At all! Whereas dirtybaby (3 weeks today) is easy as pie.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 31/03/2013 04:18

Crikey, can't believe Dirtybaby is 3 weeks already!

Baby Whip has wanted boob all night, sucked it up, pooed everywhere and then came back for more. Joyous! Grin But he's very cute and smells all milky and warm so I shall forgive him.

Hope the g&t works Lucky!

I'll keep my labour stort quiet till you're popped out. But.... OMG the after pains! You guys weren't kidding.....

Radiator1234 · 31/03/2013 05:13

Yes the after pains just like contractions! Apparently they get worse the more babies you have.

See if you can avoid painful nips? Hope so.

Radiator1234 · 31/03/2013 05:14

[busmile]

ZuleikaD · 31/03/2013 07:06

Oh well done Whip! Am SO jealous - I've never been so keen for agonising pain to start Grin! Looking forward to labour story later!

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 31/03/2013 07:43

Oh Zuleika, don't wish it! I honestly found it so much worse than last time... Maybe I'm just a big coward!

My nips are ok but he's not latching on terribly well. Tiny mouth plus my mahoosive areolas are not a good mix! Am getting them to check for tongue tie later as DD had an undiagnosed one for 3 months

Happy Easter everyone! [buflowers]

beanzmum · 31/03/2013 09:30

Ladies, I can add another baby to the mix! Baby beanz arrived yesterday morning at 11.06 after a surprisingly quick labour .. especially considering his size! (4.26kg!!) I managed to have him on G&A & in the hospital's birthing unit. Made the 6hr discharge & its so surreal to be home with a baby & a hugely stretched belly instead of enormously pregnant. He's just divine [bugrin]

Awesome news about your arrival too, whip!! Congratulations on your Easter bub!! Flowers

Dirtymistress · 31/03/2013 09:39

Happy news beanz! Can't believe you are home already!

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 31/03/2013 09:59

Wow Congrats Beanz! Fab news :)

Surplus of Easter babies!

So how was the labour?

num3onway · 31/03/2013 13:58

Urgh!
I'm getting really frustrated and its not even my due date, imagine if I go two weeks over I will explode. If anyone asks if I've had my baby I'm going to kill them.
I've never been this pregnant before and never thought I would get to be!
I'm worried about having a sweep incase its anywher near as painful as the swabs I had taken yday but I think it'll be worse won't it?
But I don't wanna refuse a sweep because then ill be pregnant forever and ever and ever.
No one seems to understand my dosappintment either which does not help.

39+2

LuckyOwl28 · 31/03/2013 14:10

Congrats beanz great news!

Erm (may regret asking this), but WHAT after pains???????

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 31/03/2013 14:23

Oh num3 Thanks Hope something happens soon. Personally I'd go for the sweep - seemed to work for me (if delayed this time round!). I never found them too painful - more uncomfortable. But everyone is different.

LuckyOwl, after pains are basically your uterus contracting down again- a bit like labour pains. They're nowhere near as frequent or as intense, and with your first they're not so bad. You'll feel them whilst bfing as well. Definitely worse second time around!

My new DS has been asleep since we got home from the hospital! (3 hours!) Do I wake him to feed or let him sleep? He's blatantly going to be awake all night now....

Pontouf · 31/03/2013 14:27

Hey congratulations Beanz, that was quick! 4.26kg - what's that? About 9lb 6ish? Well done! How lovely to be home already. Very very jealous indeed! Smile
