I'm trying the clary sage tonight ! I don't care if it's a tenner I will try Anything ! I need this baby out now

Pootle78 · 22/07/2012 14:08

Back from sweep, still 2cm but she could stretch it to 4! Another one who's little one is far too comfy in there!

kaz sounds like my dh

Him - I don't want go work tomorrow do you think it will come today?
Me - I'm trying my best!!!

cheeky sweeps aren't pleasant and I've been violated twice in 5 days!!! Good luck with the clary sage!!!

AllIWant85 · 22/07/2012 14:15

35 hours of contractions now. Between 7 and 10 minutes apart. So uncomfortable. :(

Almost at the point of considering a DIY C section just to get some relief! :o

Cheekychops84 · 22/07/2012 15:19

Ok jus had a whiff of the clary sage doesn't smell that bad ? Did give me a braxton Grin I bit scared to rub it in now Hmm

NauseousKitty · 22/07/2012 16:01

Hi all - just to update, my induction failed :( so I am back at home after 52 hours of gentle (and not so gentle persuasion). Heartily sick of this now but going back in on Wed if naughty baby not made an appearance before then.

Will definitely look for clary sage as I do note want to go through that level of violation again!

Cheekychops84 · 22/07/2012 17:13

But if ur induction failed was there a reason ?

NauseousKitty · 22/07/2012 17:22

Apparently about 1 in 4 fail - a fact they neglected to tell me before I went in! I wasn't the only one in the ward who went home empty car seated.

Thoroughly fed up and massive. With a stubborn awkward baby who is obviously far too comfortable.

Cheekychops84 · 22/07/2012 18:25

Oh kitty that's awful ! I thought it was inevitable that induction was the end ! Boy was I wrong :( there's quite I bot to b sed about the clary sage and also been used in labour when contractions die down to get them going again ? May b all rubbish but maybe worth a try ? Good luck keep us updated x

Pootle78 · 22/07/2012 20:43

Oh bless you Kitty

AwwABaby · 23/07/2012 05:31

Sorry I'm late, glad I stumbled on this thread. 1st baby & currently 40+4 booked in for a sweep tomorrow, is it truly horrific?

Quite scared, had on & off tightenings & period pains for days now so blooming sick of this & stretch marks get worse everyday I'm convinced..........

Cheekychops84 · 23/07/2012 08:05

Well the clary sage hasn't started labour :( gave me some strong braxton hicks tho ? They were pretty uncomfortable then they wore off :( made me sleep like a trooper tho :) I'm pumping the kids paddling pool up today which is a mission ! Maybe that will help !

Kazriina · 23/07/2012 10:35

Morning guys, started with contractions yesterday morning at 3am & went into spontaneous labour at 6.30 with my waters breaking in spectacular fashion

Baby girl arrived safely at 5.03 this morning! She's currently gurgling away next to me and feeding like its an Olympic sport!

Hang in there guys, I'd settled myself in for the 40+12 long haul!

poohbearrules · 23/07/2012 11:36

Morning all. Think I might be queue jumping a bit - sorry! 39 +4 and waters went at 2.30 this morning. Got up for a wee, just getting back into bed and thought I'd wet myself! Went in for monitoring about 4.00am. Heartbeat dropped slightly so sent for a walk and back for more monitoring. They were happy with that and so sent home to wait it out! No contractions! Got to go back tomorrow at 8.00am for augmentation (not sure what that entails) if nothing happens before then. Come on baby Grin

Pootle78 · 23/07/2012 11:44

kaz that's fantastic news - congratulations!!!

Good luck pooh looks like you're next on the list!

Well second sweep yesterday has done sweet fa although I have so much pressure down below the pain at night is awful, I can't even repeat the state dh found me in this morning asleep on the settee (but let's just say knickers were cutting in where the pain was, so weren't there for long!!!)

3 days to go for me if this one doesn't arrive in the meantime although reading kitty's nightmare induction on Thursday is scaring me too.

Get Out! Get Out! Get Out!

Cheekychops84 · 23/07/2012 12:02

Well done ladies ! 39+ 2 here maybe 2 days time then? Then I can start enjoying this sunshine instead of being like a hermit indoors

AwwABaby · 23/07/2012 12:38

Congratulations Kaz on your baby girl - Well done... Still waiting over here - all signs seized to a stop.

Pootle - What's the sweep like? Manageable? Possibly maybe a silly question (1st baby + Clueless) do they put the horrible metal thing in like when your having a smear for a sweep??

Cheekychops - Were your other kids/kid on time or overdue? No idea how you ladies do this more than once x

Pootle78 · 23/07/2012 19:10

A sweep, some may say ignorance is bliss and it is different for everyone but both mine hurt and by the end I was crying in pain.

It's all manual and the midwife was definitely better at it than the doctor last week (if you need one make sure the midwife has long fingers as that helps - apparently!)

I asked for gas and air on the second one to be told they didn't have any, I had problems relaxing but that was probably due to knowing what was to come!!!

I suppose it's a means to an end although nothing happened here since yesterday, no mucus, blood, braxton hicks, nadar!!!!!

Cheekychops84 · 23/07/2012 19:44

Oh I'm worried now I've got a sweep on thursday and never had one before :( I'm scared now ! My other two were both over due by 7 days and 5 days! Pootle this is my third dd and I've never had a show and my waters never broke ! I still went naturally and only warning was waking up with contractions xx

Pootle78 · 23/07/2012 19:50

Don't worry cheeky you may have a midwife with a gentler approach, at this rate I'm being induced in Thursday :(

With ds I had a show at 8am, contractions started at 8.30am and waters went when I was 9cm so it's all new to me, never had bh's with him easier. Think I must be having s girl cause no boy would put his mum through this Grin

NauseousKitty · 23/07/2012 20:10

I am having sporadic back ache and light cramp pains in my lower abdomen - am. Kidding myself or could this be first signs of labour? Please keep your fingers crossed for me. I don't want to go through another induction :(

I am echoing the title of this thread - get out!!!

Cheekychops84 · 23/07/2012 20:25

My midwife is really weird Hmm I can hardly hear her when she talks she looks like she about to have a nervous breakdown ! I had the same kitty the other day got quite unconfortable on thursday ! But not had it since :( but good luck to you ! It may b it xx

Kazriina · 24/07/2012 12:05

Any news ladies? Hoping your all quiet because your seeing to your newborns and sleeping

Cheekychops84 · 24/07/2012 13:47

Nothing ! Even all the period pains and braxtons have stopped ! This baby is never coming out is she ?

Pootle78 · 24/07/2012 14:22

Ditto cheeky

My mum was told when my sister was born in June 73 that babies wont come when it's really hot but as soon as it cools down there could be a boom of babies born, deep joy!!!

Cheekychops84 · 24/07/2012 14:33
