Slink,

Did you ever get a red blotch(itchy) at your injecting site when on heparin? I am covered at the moment and am really itchy.
I can't stop taking the stuff!!!

SnowBoo · 09/04/2006 19:50

Does anyone else feel dizzy? Not sure if its tiredness and lack of food but its been coming in waves today. Have been to bed gone 12 for the last two nights so could this be it? Am getting uptight and anxious and feeling really hormonal today. Will try a bath and an early night.

oinker · 09/04/2006 19:57

Snowboo,

Try and rest as much as you can. I get dizzy spells too. I am sure it is nothing to worry about. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

HellKat · 10/04/2006 07:52

Hiya all.
Please don't tell me if you have snow, I want some Grin. Had some last night but far too wet to settle.
Pet- Hope you feel better soon. I never get them unless I'm pg, weird huh?
Oinker- Great to see you hun Envy lucky moo.
Hope everyone's well.xx

HellKat · 10/04/2006 07:56

Also think the baby turned yesterday morning. After having a very small, neat bump I woke to a huge rounded bump lol. Now I look like I'm not far off 20 wks lol.

diddle · 10/04/2006 08:21

Hellkat & Petunia - hope you're both feeling better after a hopefully relaxing weekend, and that your antibiotics are kicking in now.

snowboo - i have been feeling dizzy and a bit sick sometimes, i think its lack of energy, and maybe the need for some carbs and water. i don't think i'm drinking enough water, so gonna try and gulp down a few glasses, even if it does mean visiting the toilet even more!

Woke up on my side this morning, and baby was kicking my other side. put my hand on it and it just kept going, was lovely to feel it moving.

Had parentcraft on saturday, was well worth going, although i knew a lot of the stuff already we did a little relaxation which was lovely, and had a tour of the maternity ward, was great.

Arabica · 10/04/2006 12:12

Hi everyone, am feeling absolutely enormous, even my face looks 6 months pregnant! Went for asthma check-up at the hospital on Fri and the nurse said v loudly 'you have gained 8kg since your last appointment 6 months ago!' so I retorted VERY loudly, 'It's cos I'm PREGNANT'. I always feel this way when I can't exercise--and for the past 2 wks have hardly been able to do anything due to first a trapped nerve in my back, then a nasty hayfever episode which left me very congested.
Baby moving a little bit more, but certainly not getting kicked in the ribs like other members of the August thread, or even able to see anything on the outside of my bump. Was the same with DS. I think I've just got loads of padding.

Arabica · 10/04/2006 12:13

Snowboo, could you be anaemic? My iron count got v low when I was expecting DS and I had to have tablets which made my poo black!

SnowBoo · 10/04/2006 12:36

Do look rather pale but put it down to tiredness. Will call labour ward see what they say.
Felt fine when i woke up but now have started feeling wooshy again!

Oh the joys of pg....

Also gets worse when baby bounces about, puts me off balance!!

Arabica · 10/04/2006 12:52

Some ear infections can also make you dizzy, hope it's nothing to worry about xxx

petunia · 10/04/2006 13:11

Afternoon all,
Snowboo- would definitely get your iron levels checked.
Arabica- ah yes. I remember the joys of iron tablets!

I've just been to the Drs about my urine infection. He tested my wee and it's all clear. So whatever I had last week possibly has gone! He did keep the sample for doing some more testing on and I should get the results of that Wednesday afternoon. So no antibiotics. My iron level is still good too -11.2. Usually in other pgs, I'm usually on iron tablets by now.
Think nesting has begun! Cleaned the bathrooms and downstairs loo yesterday and then wiped out the fridge. I've just started some bread in the bread maker as well. Must rest now!

SnowBoo · 10/04/2006 13:34

Well just called hosp, have to make emergency appt with GP to get bp checked out. My ankles are a little bit swollen aswell so she thinks i need urine, bp and whatever else check! She was a bit vague, wouldn't really tell me anything....

Says its too early for Pre Eclampsia but my sil had it from 25 weeks. Can you get it with 2nd/3rd time babies? Had nothing wrong with ds....

NOW i'm stressed!

diddle · 10/04/2006 13:44

stay calm snowboo - the tests will show if there is anything to worry about, until then take it easy and don't wear yourself out.
I am feeling much the same today, wooshy and exhausted. no swollen ankles though. i know my BP is ok had it checked last week.

SnowBoo · 10/04/2006 13:58

Thanks diddle. Am sitting at my desk waiting for bloody doctors to open! And for someone to come over and cover me when i need to go out.

Sods law, on my way to work this morning thought oh, haven't got my 'Hand Held Notes!' Nevermind, won't be needing them.
Now have to drive back home, pick them up and drive to gp. TYPICAL!!!

Stay calm stay calm stay calm....

Arabica · 10/04/2006 20:38

How did you get on, Boo?

oinker · 10/04/2006 23:34

Boo, any news?

slinkstah · 11/04/2006 00:10

Hi everyone, im back did ya miss me??? went for short break up north.
I went for my 3d scan on saturday and it blumin didn't work! baby was hiding behind his hands and even after a walk and a wiggle it was no good so i have to make another appointment.

Also, after being at the hospital on thursday to check out my green show thing, i decided to go back to the hospital and demand someone take notice of me so i popped in saturday and embarresingly gave them my peepot full of "green show" they decided it should be tested and felt to see if the external bit of my cervix was still closed- it was:) anyway i left satisfied that i could do no more and would have no regrets etc. they offered me steroids but told me it was my decision and they could not tell me anything about them so i said i would research into it first unless it was an emergency.
i am anxiously awaiting results of the green show thing, maybe it is an infection, anyway the amount has decreased so alls good:)

also...i bought a bit more baby stuff and the mil gave me loadsa clothes- all newShock when i say loadsa i mean a full wardrobe full to last him till he's 6 months!

also met a little boy who was born at 29 weeks and he was fine so i am gaining confidence slightly touch wood etc
well thats all my news- im caught up now:)

hellkat- hope the infections gets better soon. i know what ya mean about never getting uti's unless pg. i never get thrush normally. i have had it almost constant this pg, i should change my name to fungivag!

oinker- i never got itchy blotches, sounds like some kind of reaction to the stuff, go drs when you get back. im glad your having a good time the view sounds amazing:)

petunia- just came back from leicestershire, i waved at your house from the motorwayGrin

snowboo- hope all went ok today, let us know asap!

Arabica · 11/04/2006 01:08

Hi Slinkstah! Shame about the 3D scan. I assume they don't charge you if they can't get a pic?
A friend of a friend has a little girl who was born at 29 weeks and she is absolutely fine. And DS is friends with twins born at 32 weeks who are perfectly healthy.

diddle · 11/04/2006 08:34

welcome back slink - what a shame your scan wasn't successful, hope the next one is better. Will you have to pay for both?
Did you have the scan up here in the midlands??
So glad you went back to the hospital with your "snot" lets hope they check it out and give you some sort of answer to what it is.

You're all scaring me with talk of babies coming early, even my mom and DH are joining in. Mom saw someone who's baby was 9 wks early, and Dh is convinced that it will be early too.
I on the other hand am convinced that i will go way past my date, just to bugger up my plans. I'm not having long off work, literally a mater of weeks, so 3 weeks after my due date i start work again. If it comes on time, otherwise i'll have to rearrange everything.
hmm we'll see.

HellKat · 11/04/2006 09:16

Morning all.
Welcome back Slink. Glad you got the "slime" sorted hun Grin.
Boo- Hope you're appointment went well and you're feeling better.

Finally got my physio appointment through hooray for the 28th April. I'm having alot of trouble moving etc because it's hurts that much so hopefully she can whip me into shape. Hate not being able to do much lol.

lol diddle, I'm with you on the birth not going to plan.
Ds1 was 4 days late, normal delivery.
Ds2 6 wks early, induced.
Positive that this one will either be late and take us all by suprise, so fast that dp will deliver it or I'll have to have a cs. Sods law. Every birth has been totally different so this one will be aswell. (hence why I have'nt bothered with a birth plan lol).

diddle · 11/04/2006 09:21

not sure what to do about a birthplan - i know there are certain things i want and don't want, so might just jot those down in big writing for all to see.
maybe a large poster with I WANT A WATER BITH AND NO EPIDURAL PLEASE would be enough Grin then i can stick it on the wall and not have to talk to anyone again!

SnowBoo · 11/04/2006 10:26

lol @ diddle!

Well, went to gp. BP is perfect (thank god) urine is clear, eyes are tired but fine but blood sugar very low! Now why didn't i think of that?? Apparently i'm not eating enough (don't know if i can eat any MORE!) and he has advised me to buy some biscuits/chocolate to perk me up.
Dh has been putting sugar in my tea also to help out but its horrible. Never had sugar in tea...Sad

So, just have to take it easy, stop with the moving of furniture Blush and pamper myself.

Slink, sorry baby was being a monkey! Hopefully its not a sign of things to come Grin

Well nearly 24 weeks so will feel a bit more relaxed. Apparently there are loads of 24weekers at my hosp who are doing well but every week that passes is obviously for the better. My cousins twins were born in Sept, not due til Christmas Day. Are now 3.6 yo and fighting fit. All positive stories. And niece was born at 31weeks but had stopped growing at 26weeks. She now a lively bright 1yo with a real will on her....

slinkstah · 11/04/2006 11:50

morning all:)

diddle- i decided to pay more and go to the one in london as i was worried about having to return if baby was in bad position etc, good job i did. i paid before scan and i am slightly worried if baby not in position again i will lose the money.

about the birth plans, i think a small bit of writing easy to read with headings on the certain subjects etc put it on the front of your notes before you go to hospital for the birth. make sure someone reads itGrin

snowboo - glad your ok, you must start eating some chocolate, its every pg womens right to go mad on all the food they fancy!
you also shouldn't be moving furniture you nutter!

twocatsonthebed · 11/04/2006 14:52

afternoon all

Glad it's all relatively OK snowboo; and what fun to be prescribed biscuits. I know many people who'd go a long way for that privilege!

That's a pain about the scan slink - where did you go?

It's so good to hear all of you getting past various milestones, and knowing that your babies have a chance even now. Some reassurance for those of us coming up behind you...

I don't have a lot to add, as my life at the moment consists of feeling like a warmed-over kipper while at the same time pretending to work that everything is normal, then coming home and going straight to bed. I'm also thoroughly fed up (as someone who likes her food) that I can't face cooking anything at all. Does this bit get any better?
