Morning all.
Slink- Congrats on 29 wks, 17 wks here today. God it's positively flying by!!!
Must remember to ring the physio today, walking & moving is so painful at first. So I grit my teeth & keep moving until it loosens up. Need a massage Wink
How's everyone?
Too early to see if it'll be sunny (hope it's like yesterday).
Desperately need some new clothes. I'm living in 1 pair of jeans (maternity ones are too big around bump & rear and fall down) and really don't want to end up in trackies. So having a look for some baggy combats today hopefully.

Anyone else having trouble typing since getting pg? Half the bloody time I can't understand what I've typed as it's full of mistakes, letters missing & words typed backwards lol Grin

diddle · 06/04/2006 07:50

31 wks here for me !!!!!!! Grin getting far too excited.

HellKat · 06/04/2006 08:15

i had a show last night - if it wasn't a show what was it??? anyway i have a post about it. I am off to an easy yoga session this morning and i think they'll be a midwife there so i will mention it and see whether its something i need to get checked out.

HK. Me too. Terrible at typing or evening stringing a sentance together. Finding it frustrating.

I'M OFFFFFFFF! i thought I'd be really excited when in fact I feel relieved but a little nervous. Does that make sense?

Petunia, hope you feel better honey.

Slink. I love honey and lemon but feel you're missing the key constituent.... whiskey. Not sure it cures cold but does make you temporarily not care. and yes i know we can't take it etc.

Glad to see people buying. Am now the proud owner of 2 outfits and..... a packet of blue baby grows.

Wills · 06/04/2006 09:05

Sorry Slink didn't see your post. How far are you now? You seem relaxed for a show. Am worrying that yoga might be a bit too much. Take care honey.

mygirllolipop · 06/04/2006 09:16

Slink - I would def get that checked out. If they can do anything to keep that baby in there an extra few weeks then it's all worth it.
I think I have caught DD's cold!

diddle · 06/04/2006 11:26

slink - i hope you're getting yourself osrted even if there isn't a midwife there. why do you think it was a show???

petunia · 06/04/2006 12:22

Afternoon all,
Still not feeling wonderful. Anyway, have been to the hospital but didn't have a scan in the end (mainly because they were fully booked. So who did my midwife ring last week then to make an appointment?) But I did get poked and prodded by a consultant and a student. They think that baby is normal size and measured 36cms (except the student thought that I was 42cms when she did it Shock!) And it's head-down as well. So all looks normal in that direction. The only thing is they found that my wee had protein and a bit of blood in it so they think I might have an infection. It was only a tiny sample that I was able to produce so I've been drinking like mad now I'm home so that I can hand another sample in to the Drs for testing.

I've also just had a call from my Mum and Dad. They've just landed after their holiday so think I can safely uncross my legs and go "pop" now!

mygirllolipop · 06/04/2006 13:24

Oh Petunia, hope it's not an infection. Glad you're parents are back and you can relax a little. I was in the same position with DD2, parents went away for two weeks, the day after they went I had her!

petunia · 06/04/2006 15:17

I hope it isn't an infection either. I tried to do a sample for DH to take to the Drs and missed the sample pot Blush. Not a dribble went in! Seem to be doing well this week at embarrassing myself!

Can't believe the number of parents/grandparents-to-be that disappear off on holiday just as their daughters are about to give birth. My ILs went off on holiday the day DD1 (and their first grandchild) was due and she arrived while they were away. She was 3 days old before they knew that she'd arrived. MIL has held it against me ever since!

slinkstah · 06/04/2006 15:30

i had some more "show" so i rang the labour ward and asked them and they said to definatly come in, so off i went and when i arrived i was plonked on a monitor for 15 minutes and told everything was normal and that the mucousy green jelly fish that has been escaping my nether regions was probably just discharge and that unless i see blood there is not a problem!
i feel unsatisfied and wished i hadn't bothered going in, they want blood (literally) before they will even consider it to be anything other than discharge. they did not even want to see this weird stuff or swab it- even in light of my previous infection etc
so i feel even more worried than i did before as i have ectoplasm jelly coming out of me and they say its normal WTF???!!!

slinkstah · 06/04/2006 15:35

sorry petunia just read your post, hope its not an infection, its good that babys head down though. I have missed the pot too before Blush

petunia · 06/04/2006 16:13

Slinkstah- what a wasted journey. I would have thought they'd have wanted to see the discharge or something.

Wills · 06/04/2006 16:32

Slink. Have had loads of green mucus discharge all the way through this pregnancy. Not sure whether I'm trying to reassure you or not but have DEFINITELY had loads. Some days I'm almost dry and then others.... (sorry if tmi)

Petunia. Oh honey a uti, GET CRANBERRY JUICING NOW. It wont cure a bad infection but will help it substantially and in some cases cure a slight one. It flushes everything through the system.

I've just come back from the midwfie and unfortunately have bp probs. Knew I would have at some point just a bit surprised at so early on. dd2 was born very rapidly becase of bp probs. Anyway I sat and thought nice thoughts for a while and it came down. I'm frustrated cos we're about to go away for 10 days + of course apart from 3 items of clothes have nothing else ready. But ultimately little one will come when little one comes (just let it all go well and let him be healthy when he does).

Hows everyone else?

slinkstah · 06/04/2006 16:42

wills i hope you bp probs settle- you have just finished work you would have thought bp would have lowered eh!

i will just wait and see what happens with the green stuff, i will take a sample with me to hospital next time and make them look lol

petunia · 06/04/2006 16:43

Wills- they're not certain it is a uti. They noticed lots of white blood cells and I said (like it sounds like I know what I'm going on about!) that it could be because of this cold I'm trying to fight off. Thing is a hate cranberry juice! Still perhaps I should start drinking the stuff, with my cold I won't be able to taste it! I've just been to the Drs to deliver my sample and the sour old receptionist said all samples had to be in by 10.30am. I explained I was at the hospital this morning. So having dragged myself out to the surgery, I'm another one that's had a wasted journey.

Arabica · 06/04/2006 16:43

Hi everyone. DH and DS are out for the day so I'm having a relaxed time this afternoon. Have been to see the homeopath and got some remedies for hayfever and anxiety, and am about to have a bath.
Sorry to hear about your wasted journey Slink, and Petunia's infection, and the blood pressure...hope everyone's feeling better tomorrow.

petunia · 06/04/2006 16:46

Sorry wills, also meant to say hope that the bp doesn't cause problems. Calming thoughts looked like they worked though!

HellKat · 06/04/2006 17:01

Poor you Slink hun, keep an eye on it.

Think my backache is being made worse by my uti. Still waiting on my anti-biotics. Told by dr's to pick up my prescription today, got there and it was shut Angry

Hey ho back there in the morning.

Pet- cranberry juice is a godsend as Wills said. I've been drinking it like crazy, unfortunately has'nt eased this bugger lol.

Wills · 06/04/2006 18:10

HK. Where do you live. Prob just coincidence but my gp was shut today as well.

SnowBoo · 06/04/2006 21:32

I've read my pg book and apparently it is normal to get an increase in discharge from about 21weeks. Only time to worry is if there is blood or it smells.
(Oh no, does this mean something else for me to get dh to sniff?Grin) Back on to knicker sniffing aren't i......opps!

Wills · 06/04/2006 22:19
Grin
slinkstah · 06/04/2006 23:22

joined the knicker smelling club today myselfBlush didn't get dp involved though, will ask him tomorrow- just to see if he will lol

i have booked a 4d scan for saturday morning, with all the stress i almost forgot.
although im worried that baby will come in the next few weeks as my symptoms this week - few more contractions, manky springy snot down there, horrendous back ache all of a sudden!
will i get a week without some stress i wonder???

looks like we all had wasted trips today eh!
