A new thread for us all to share our mutual anxieties, hopes and fears.

Im due 6th Sept but i get taken in on the 30th of August for a c section. Wouldnt feel right on the due in August thread though Smile
My pram gets delivered today so im really excited. What have you done or bought for the baby so far? Do you know what your having, i noticed you called it a she on a earlier posting.

If mine was a girl it was going to be Madeleine, Maddy, ive had that name since i was first pg last year. I also like Matilda but would be Tilly, and Paige. Got loads of girl ideas, But hey cant have it now. Boys names are so much harder to come up with.

HellKat · 05/04/2006 08:47

Have'nt bought anything yet lol. We find out on 3rd May what it is. I only call it a "her" because I have a hunch but I was wrong with ds2 lol.

mygirllolipop · 05/04/2006 09:27

Morning,
Wills - congrats on last day at work!
Maddy - I get that pain sometimes, it would be good to know what it is.
Well DH not at his normal hosp today so he's got the car. Means I have to walk 30mins to go to DD3's gym babes class then hangh around town then walk up for DD1&2 at school kicking out time then walk home. Good job it's a nice day, hope I don't overdo it. Great news is there's a Subway opening in town today so U~I get to be one of the first to try it out!

petunia · 05/04/2006 10:26

Morning all,
Wills- have a nice last day at work.
mrsmaddyd and mygirl- think it's just ligaments/muscles having to stretch suddenly when you sneeze or cough. I know it's really painful when it happens.

As for who's going to give birth first, I'd rather nothing starts happening until after tomorrow evening when parents are back from holiday! Think I'm going to spend most of the day on the sofa, had an awful night and caught (yet another) cold off DDs. Feeling yuk!

wools · 05/04/2006 10:42

Morning all.....how exciting - we should be hearing a new baby announcement on here in the very near future.

Wills, have a great last day at work.

Mrsmaddyd - yes know that pain you're talking about - it really hurts doesn't it?

slinkstah · 05/04/2006 10:54

morning all:)

hellkat - omg 6 stone!! i shouldn't moan then really, ive nerly put on 2 stone and only just into my 3rd triimester but after this rather unenergetic pg i really plan to exercise alot after as its summer too so even more incentive to get trim after birth:)
oooh and am slightly worried about poor pelvic floor muscles, had a slight leak as i sneezed earlier ShockBlush i am falling to bits- will all be worth it though.

mrsmaddyd- the pain is caused by the side muscles which support your uterus i think there called sacro iliac muscles or something. they hurt me if i move too quickly.

wills- last day at work congratulations, i hope its a good day and your collegues get you loadsa pressys:)

mygirl- take it easy! dd3 can take a sicky to gym babes. although subway sounds nice.

i had loadsa contractions last night, am really hoping its not a sign of anything. anyway gonna keep extra hydrated today and chill out as usualGrin

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 10:56

Well had scan y'day to check babys growth. No sign of diabetes yet BUT looks like baby will follow in daddys footsteps and be a big lad! Consultant laughed when i pointed out that it is i, not he that has to push baby out! Making my eyes water at the thought....Dh was 9lb 7oz and is 6'4", i was 7lb 8oz and am 5'4"....
But baby was happy and even looked at me through the tv thingy.

Slink, good news.. i asked about what happens when stitch comes out. He said most women have to be induced as they go over by a week! (Oh, i lied about it being good news Grin) So i've asked if there is any chance they can bring it on sooner as i have sooooo many weddings in August! Well, my db is getting married 29th July. How inconvenient of them....

slinkstah · 05/04/2006 11:14

OMG snowboo induced!!! eeeeeek. i thought my cervix would fly open without the stitch in place, is it really true most women have to be induced? i am counting pg to when the sticth is taken out not any furthur lol

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 11:47

PMSL @ Slink! Thats what i've been doing! Was rather deflated when he said that.

I'm still looking on the bright side. He did say MOST women, not ALL women lol! Don't think i could cope with another five weeks post stitch! I don't remember agreeing to it.

When the stitch is out do lots of walking, drink raspberry leaf tea and every other old wives tale you can think of!!!!

slinkstah · 05/04/2006 11:58

lots of ahem... bonking! Grin make up for not being allowed it at all during pg!! certainly won't feel like it after baby for a whileGrin

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 12:28

And if you can't bear the actual deed just borrow his sperm to help ripen your cervix!!!! ShockGrin

mygirllolipop · 05/04/2006 13:57

DH brought the car to me after all. I tell ya what those gym babes are gym sessions for the mums too, I always come out of there knackered! Subway was way too busy tho so had Greggs not the same as up north ie they don't do corned beef pasties, come on!
Forgot to say the erotic dreams started the night beofre last and happend again last night, DH not impressed seeing as he is on limited sex til 12wks yet I am 'getting off' in my dreams!
Well best do some housework before time runs out.

Wills · 05/04/2006 14:00

DH is looking forward to the baby coming cos yes I wont feel like it! Blush.

Must get some raspberry tea. My gut feeling is that having spent the last 7.5 months scared stiff of loosing him he'll now be late and have to be crow barred out! Grin

So...
Raspberry tea
bonking,
Curries
Lots of fresh air and walking
Rosemary (have heard about this but not sure why?)

Anything else?

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 14:02

Tell him at least its not like dh whos on a complete ban til the dr says otherwise! Will hopefully be in three months when my stitch is out and not 5months after my postbaby check up!!!!

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 14:04

Pineapple
Lime Juice cordial
Cranberry Juice
Turmeric balls

Have so many more but i can't remember.
Didn't need them with ds as he popped out 4 days early. Bless him. Knew his mummy was getting impatient!

mygirllolipop · 05/04/2006 14:06

I know my sympathies go out to you snowboo and slink too. It would be a great excuse for me if Dr said no sex! But then I'd want what I couldn't have if Dr did say no sex!
Wills- can't think of anything else to bring labour on, other than possibly acupuncture/relexology type treatments? And haven't heard of rosemary before for bringing on labour.

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 14:15

Aparently a nice foot massage is supposed to bring it on. And that is what i will tell dh when i get to 36 weeks! (If i go that far...!)

Sorry. Positive thinking. WHEN i get there.

Anyone else convinced they'll be early? Keep having dreams he will be early. Dh says its natural after what i went through last time but hmmm.

mygirllolipop · 05/04/2006 14:28

Snow- I was convinced I would be at least 2 wks early with DD3. I was 5days over with DD1, a week early with DD2. DD3 came bang on my due date! I would tell DH that about the foot massage too! I love foot massages. DH is sick of giving them so I'm looking into getting reflexology done when he can watch kiddies and I can relax!

nickiey · 05/04/2006 15:12

My Doppler arrived this morning and its fab, I heard my babys heart beating-DS heard it too and was very excited! I feel so calm now (well calmer!) knowing that if im in any doubt i can just switch on and listen.
I would deffo recommend one to any worried mum to be

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 15:16

So where did you get that nickiey? Am thinking about nicking, sorry, BORROWING a stethoscope from the hosp....

nickiey · 05/04/2006 15:20

I got it from here www.rentadoppler.co.uk/
And really i ordered it late on Monday night and i t got here this morning which is fab-its 20 squid a month and after 6 months its yours.

Arabica · 05/04/2006 16:41

Hello everyone, sneezin' Arabica here. I've got hayfever already! The GP can prescribe me a nasal spray but also seeing homeopath tomorrow for something a bit more natural.
Nickiey, glad your doppler is reassuring you. At times I've felt like getting one--wouldn't mind using one today cos I haven't felt baby hardly at all, despite all my loud sneezing.

HellKat · 05/04/2006 16:58

I bought baby stuff Grin

6 bodysuits and 3 adorable babygrows Grin
Was sensible and got neutral white just in case.

Got lovely windy pains here so off to grab some Rennies. Had a lovely sleep this mornign then spent 3 & 1/2hrs wandering around town. Needless to say will be spending the night with my feet up.

Have a great night all xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

petunia · 05/04/2006 18:00

Evening all,
nickiey- glad the doppler is reassuring you.
Hellkat- Excellent idea, spending money!
Arabica- you sneezin' too? And my baby isn't moving an awful lot either although I felt it having hiccups about an hour ago!
I've felt truly awful today. I've had a temperature and the shivers. I think that anything that doesn't ache because of the pregnancy, aches because of my temperature! DD1 has got it as well and has just spent 1 1/2 hrs asleep on the sofa. So we might have to take them both to the scan tomorrow. Think I might have to hand the bedtime routine over to DH tonight!

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 19:04

Petunia! Put your feet up and rest! Bedtime is what dh's are for. (Says the woman who has been abandoned for footie down the pub leaving grumpy little man behind!)
Apparently you can't watch it at home on tv.

Ah well, Ben & Jerrys ice cream here i come Grin

Try taking some honey and lemon and eat lots of garlic. Does wonders for you.
