Jamiesam - Many congrats honey.

Slink. Yep I know what you mean. Finally got off early last night i.e. by 9.30 but have been awake since 4.30 instead. Many congrats on the milestone.

HellKat · 30/03/2006 08:19

Morning all.
How's everyone?
Glad to hear of all the good news Grin
Had that 24 hr stomach bug and thankfully on the mend. Getting very paranoid though. last mc happened after a vicious stomach bug and I'm sure baby's not moving nowhere near as much (plus tum's gone down a fair bit). Know this is probably all in my head and my bump's gone down probably due to violent retching but I'll be gald when Tuesday comes so i can hear if the hb's still strong.
Grrrrrrrrr mc is awful!! Takes every ounce of enjoyment out of subsequent pg's and fills you with dread & worry instead. I'd just started enjoying it too. Still sending babba good vibes though, every night in the bath I lay back, meditate and have my hands in a triangle shape over my womb. Highly relaxing!
Have a great day all, about to get the shopping down here before it pelts it down x

mygirllolipop · 30/03/2006 09:07

Morning,
Jamiesam glad yourmilestone and been and passed without incidence.
Slink - congrats on 28wks!
HK - I'm sure everything will be fine. Are you passed your 'milestone'?

oinker · 30/03/2006 09:09

HK....

I had the bug too. Not over it 100% yet. have stayed of work though. I couldn't do with telling them at this early stage. I will be back at work on 18th April (the day I will be scanned) so depending on the result will depend on if I tell them.

I should at least see the heart beat by then shouldn't I? I will hopefully be 7+3 by then. I have never had the pleasure of seeing any of my beanies with heart beats.

I really hope that I am not being too negative for this site. If I am please someone tell me. I will not be offended.

mygirllolipop · 30/03/2006 09:10

Oh and about getting an appointment on a Sun, when we moved down here last year when I was pg with DD3 my first appointment was on a Sun, then only had a couple more before she was born they were during the week tho.

oinker · 30/03/2006 09:10

HK.....

if you are really that worried can you pop into your EPU for a scan or even just have a monitor of the heartbeat.

mygirllolipop · 30/03/2006 09:13

Oinker -x posts. Past 6 weeks they can see hb, really hope you make it to then my darling. In a way it's good that you've not seen any hb's. With my MC I didn't have a scan. With DD3 I'd had a scan before I was bleeding for weeks and I said to DH it was harder because I'd seen her and her hb. And hey if we can't havea little whige here where can we?

oinker · 30/03/2006 09:22

Thanks mygirl.

Am being kept busy here. Got DH's 40th party at the weekend. Will be getting the SKIDS to do most of the banner and balloon hanging. I have to sort out the grub!!! Can't wait!!!
Going to struggle keeping it quiet from a few freinds who know what I have been thru. They will sus. it as I won't be drinking.

Have succesfully jabbed my tummy this morning. No bleeding! By the time I reach 40wks I will look like a massive walking bruised pin cushion. Grin

twocatsonthebed · 30/03/2006 09:36

HK - hope you're feeling better and that babba is bouncing around today. I'm guessing you've probably lost a lot of water retention which is why the bump's gone down a bit.

Slinkstah - isn't insomnia awful - for me it's one of the first pregnancy symptoms I get, and it's a particularly pointless one. I am listening to a lot of radio in the middle of the night! And thanks for the advice - I'll give the drs a ring today and find out what's going on.

And Oinker - I certainly don't think it would be possible to be too negative for this place. It's so hard either not telling people you're pregnant, or if they do know them just expecting you to be happy and cheerful about it, and this is about the only space you have to let out all of the fears about what if it all goes wrong next time. I've certainly got them. So keep going.

But the stats I've read about blood clotting treatment and heparin suggest that you've now got a 70% better chance of full-term pregnancy, which is pretty good for any kind of treatment. And you've got the best care you can have, which also gives you a much better chance. we're all willing you on to your scan.

desperatehousewife · 30/03/2006 09:59

oinker i agree with twocats - this is the only place where we can really be honest about how we are feeling without fear of bringing others down. I am so relived to be here on this thread - i just didn't feel that I could go on the due in november thread because there are so many first time preg ladies there and i felt i just couldn't be honest - and my milestone is such a bloody long time away!

I'm so sorry about all the tummy bugs - what a hideous thing to have whilst pregnant - you poor things. HOpe everyone is on the mend.

HellKat · 30/03/2006 10:05

Thanks all. Not too worried, what will be will be.
I passed my milestones pretty early on so that's one less worry.
Oinker- You'll be able to see/hear the hb by then hun. Plus the risk of mc drops dramatically if you get to hear it (that's what kept me going). Don't you dare apologise for moaning lol this is the one place we can have a grumble. We can't really on our ante-natal threads or real life so hear's our sounding board.
Hope everyone's well xxx

Arabica · 30/03/2006 14:00

Oinker, that's what this thread is for. We've all been there or we wouldn't be posting. Sometimes the stress of worrying that this tiny but already much-loved baby will make it is just so hard to cope with, and it's then that it's great to have a place to vent our feelings with people who really know what you're going through.
Slink, congrats on 28 weeks! Happy 3rd trimester to you.
And hello to everyone else. Me and bump are OK except I trapped a nerve in my back (I do this 3 or 4 times a year) when I bent to tie a shoelace yesterday and am now hobbling around very painfully!

Arabica · 30/03/2006 14:02

Sorry, forgot to say HK, hope all is OK and you get to feel more movement later on. I'm 22wks now and I still don't feel the baby that much--I don't normally feel anything at all from waking up until about lunchtime. I'm hoping it's a late sleeper!

SnowBoo · 30/03/2006 15:10

I have a proper wriggler here. Wakes up at 7pm til about 12-1am, sleeps til 4am, awake again, sleeps til 8am then up most of the day! Whilst sitting here with lunch he is belting away!

Has anyone else got really bad tummy ache? Can't really describe it so not sure if its baby moving things out of his way or if its my bad, legs, pelvis etc causing it. Any advice?

Slink, well done on 28 weeks. Can't wait to get to 24weeks. Just over 2 weeks to go....

petunia · 30/03/2006 15:58

Afternoon all,
Just been to the midwife. She's not sure now which way up baby is (2weeks ago thought it was head down). She's fairly sure it is head down but is now sending me for a scan (11.00am next Thursday) to make sure. She also thinks I'm large for dates (whatever that means. Anybody help?) because she measured and I'm 3cms more than I should be.
So all in all, I'm feeling big, tired, fed up, my ankles and feet are like tree trunks and I'm wishing that my parents weren't still in Cyprus for another week.
Sorry for the whinge- I think the hormones are getting to me!

oinker · 30/03/2006 16:00

Thanks ladies.. Smile

I really appreciate this.

oinker · 30/03/2006 16:04

Petunia.....

Oh hunny I feel for you. Put your feet up if you can. Epsom salts in a foot spa would be nice. Virgin vie do a lovely cooling cream for feet and calves. It's really tingly. Not sure if you can use it if pregnant though.

I have no idea about the measurement stuff. Never got that far. How far one are you?

petunia · 30/03/2006 16:22

Oinker- I'm 36wks tomorrow. I'm trying to look on the bright side and tell myself that it would actually be quite nice to have another scan. I think the question mark over whether the head is up or down was because she thought the heart beat was quite high (as in high up my tummy). I'm still fairly sure that it is head down but I just wish that I didn't have to wait a week to find out.

oinker · 30/03/2006 16:26

Gosh..
You are ready to rock and roll.
I am sure all will be well.

Even if baby is wrong way round at the moment they generally do get into position in time. Two of my freinds thought they were going to have a breech birth but babies turned on their own.
Do you reckon they will do another scan and soon?

oinker- I've never been in this position before so I don't know about more scans, just the one arranged next Thursday. I've just been doing some reading on the internet, and they say that they're more worried if the baby is too small rather than too large. Although I don't want a huge bouncer either, I liked DDs weights- 7lbs and 7lbs 5oz! And looking on previous threads here, some people say that midwives can get the measurements wrong.
I'm trying to calm down and not feel too hormonal now!

oinker · 30/03/2006 16:43

Lets go and watch Deal or no deal...

Enjoy others stressing for a few minutes. Grin

oinker- yikes do the jabs have to go in your tummy?

HK- get better soon hun

petunia- you may be having a big un:) its great you get another scan, fingers crossed he is upside down though. i am measurng an extra 3cm as well, although i did measure myself, the clinic have not measured me but have had 2 midwifes comment on how large i am Blush
can't believe there are some of us about to drop soon:)
cori- will the first birth on this thread be the first ever birth??

kayzed- hiya hun thanks for the congrats, glad to hear everythings ok. hope your holiday was fun:)

cori · 30/03/2006 17:13

Hi, Slink,
I think Petunia is ahead of me by one week. I am 35 weeks today. DS was two weeks overdue though, I am going for a VBAC, but if it doesnt happen I am having a ceaserean on the 10th of May.

Petunia, I was measured last week and docotr thought I was large for dates too, as I was a the hospital I had a scan straight away. The sonographer estimated that baby was right on average. Dont worry dont think the fundal height measurement is that accurate tbh.

Oinker good luck with your scan, I know its still a couple of weeks. You will definetly be able to see the HB by then.
