thanks everyone, and hi mygirl

answers for kayzed-
my contractions have not changed, they are still the same as they were at 15 weeks when they started.
i did not ask about monitoring if i don't have the stitch- i forgot, i will do when i speak to dr later though.
i didn't have a stitch this time as drs were not sure whether last preterm birth was down to weak cervix or infection or something else so having a early stitch might not have been necessary.
i think the risks are higher the later in pg and when funneling and thinning have already started.
my 1999 delivery was unassisted although dd was born fast as cord was around neck a few times. since then i have had a very early termination (please no one kill me for this, i DO regret it, but there were circumstances etc) and i had a coil iud fitted and then took out.
thanks for the info to kayzed i am off to google for some more.

if i do go into hospital, i will still be able to talk as i have just got a 3g phone so mumsnet will entertain me whilst i lie in a smelly ward.

FirstNikki · 24/02/2006 17:25

Slink - the very best of luck and hope you are ok over the week. Good luck with the consultant.

I think the term is the same as erpc procedure so I wouldn't have thought this would be a reason at all so don't go down that thought process. My sis had probs with her coil so maybe that is a possibilty, all be it slight but a poss. Regardless though you are getting the care of your consultant and his colleagues so you are in good hands best of luck. xxxx

Slink- {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} hunny just saw this. No idea what to say hun because it's your body and ultimately your decision. Is there any way they can check you in a day or two and find out if it's started to funnel more? If that would be the case then personally I'd risk the stitch.
Oh and no one's going to kill you sweety for having a termination earlier. I had one too (good few years ago mind) but had definite reasons for doing it to and still believe I made the right choice (even though it still bothers me).

i am a bit scared. flipin house is trashed too, and no time to tidy, i am going to lie here and research tinternet until i know everything there is to know about this situation and then i must repack hospital bag, god i haven't got a nightie!![panic]

oinker · 24/02/2006 19:50

Slink............

Stay positive you and your baby will be fine. I am sure you are making the right decision. I would do the same. You have to be guided by those who know you and have been monitoring you. I do beleive this procedure is not an uncommon one. i have read up on it before.

Don't worry about your home just focus on yourself.
Remeber positive thoughts only. x
))))))))))))))))))))))))Hugs((((((((((((((((((((((
I will be sending positive vibes to you guys tomorrow......xx

wools · 24/02/2006 19:55

Good luck Slink, I agree with Oinker - I would do the same if I was in your position. Look after yourself.

oinker · 24/02/2006 19:58

When I'm in a bit of a pickle I always recite some poetry and think happy thoughts......

cori · 24/02/2006 21:04

Oh Slink, have only just seen this. I hope you are OK. I dont know the risks but I think you are doing the right thing. It sounds like the hospital are going to do everything possible to stop you going into preterm labour, ( not like last time) you will be in the right if anything anything starts to go wrong.

Good Luck.... and ask DP to log on and give us an update if you cant. {{{{{{{{{{{bighugs}}}}}}}}}

slink - if you do manage to get mumsnet in hospital then our thoughts are with you. stay calm and positive and think of the baby.

petunia · 25/02/2006 10:31

Morning Hellkat,
How are you?
I'm 31+1 wks. DD1's going to a swimming/birthday party this afternoon. Ugh! Got to expose myself and my rather pg body so not exactly looking forward to it! Rather afraid I'm going to get in the pool and the water and children are going to get out!

HellKat · 25/02/2006 10:40

I'm great thanks Pet. Wow where has the time gone? I can't believe you're that far along. God it only seems a short time ago we were all desperately ttc. I've vowed to take ds2 swimming but not yet. Far too cold, that's my excuse . I'm 11+1 and it's flying by.

petunia · 25/02/2006 11:03

This party is at a leisure centre where the water is always cold, even after you've been in a while and got used to the temperature, it still feels cold! Hope DD1 doesn't want to stay in the full hour that's been given for the party!

FirstNikki · 25/02/2006 12:23

Well, it's after 3, Slink, so I hope the stitch went well and the hospital isn't too smelly! We're all thinking of you. I will check in regularly to see if there is news (supposed to be working so have got my computer on). Meantime, the very best of vibes and do NOT blame yourself re termination (have been there too).

kreamkrackers · 25/02/2006 17:11
