I had my appointment with consultant this afternoon. It went very well. She did tell me however that if i have another panic like on Monday night where there is not much movement over a period of 12 hours I should definetly go to hospital, no matter what time.
Apart from that everything looks normal and progressing well. We also decided that if I dont go into labour naturally before 41 weeks then I will have an elective ceaseran, and guess what? Its already been booked, so if nothing happens before hand I will be having my baby on the 10th of May. I feel so excited, the end is in sight.

Glad your appointment went well. Have to confess I've had one of those "not much movement" days today. Not much going on this morning but this afternoon, baby has been moving like a little footballer! Great news about the C. Section, I like how they've got everything booked and organised.

Nicola63 · 22/02/2006 19:50

Thank you Arabica, I have ordered the book. Have now moved to the ttc after miscarriage board. Hope to be back here some time soon.
Thanks.

trix1 · 23/02/2006 07:39

Nicola63 & FirstNikki so sorry to hear about your m/c's. I know only too well what you are going through - take good care and I hope you are backk in thes thread soon.

HellKat · 23/02/2006 08:11

Sorry was'nt around yhesterday. Ds1 (13) was up since 2am yesterday with stomach pains. They did'nt improve so took him to the dr's and it's either suspected appendicitis or a stomach bug. So just playing the waiting game atm. he's brighter this morning though and seeing it snowing has perked him up .
I don't feel as pg now. Had alot of stabbing back pains all through the night and still there this morning, easing off slightly. Think it may be from all the walking yesterday (back & forth to the town & dr's).
How's everyone doing this morning?
{copy & pasted 'cos i'm a lazy mare this morning }

trix1 · 23/02/2006 08:14

Good Morning Hellkat, when you say you dont feel as pg now - do you mean the sickness and tiredness is easing off? Hope so.

HellKat · 23/02/2006 10:27

Never had sickness Trix but tiredness is still there. I think it's because I have'nt sat there thinking about being pg iykwim. I still look it though.

slinkstah · 23/02/2006 11:05

Brilliant news Slink

Arabica · 24/02/2006 11:42

Slink, you really are having a baby. And so am I! There's definitely something moving around in there.

slinkstah · 24/02/2006 14:15

Things are going wrong again!!

went for my cervical scan appointment this morning (thinking it would be my last one) anyway my cervix showed 34mm at first but with funneling at the top. the dr said theres nothing to worry about and as she was saying that the funnel got bigger and bigger and she took another pic and measured the remaining cervix and it was 22mm. This is worrying news indicating that i might be going into preterm labour, and that my contrations that i have been having are making changes to my cervix.
the fetal med dr said that was worrying and they need now to decide what to do. she sent me to see the consultant who is undecided what to do as the stitch operation carrys risks of labour/infection/prom and the risks of leaving me are similar anyway. The consultant is ringing me tonight after he has discussed it with his collegues.
there is no right or wrong way to go with this. i am at risk of another preterm birth and no one knows for sure which way to handel it.

i am in shock right now i reckon
i am desperate for this baby, and i will not try again if i lose this one. i am scared as i know i am going to have to go into hospital soon and i am so freaked about it as last time my experience was less than nice. my dreams of seeing the community midwifes and having a homebirth are now completely over i need to hold on to the hope that the baby will stay put for a few more weeks at least.

anyway i'd like a poll of opinion please as its as much my decision as it is drs right now.
so based on my history =
1997- normal pg csection
1999- normal pg, normalish birth(cord round neck) vbac
2005 - preterm labour and birth 23 weeks
now - 23+1 today funneling and 22mm cervix was 34mm 3 weeks ago.

so should i have a stitch or see what happens?

Arabica · 24/02/2006 15:04

Slink,
You must be out of your mind with worry. I'm not sure I can offer much advice but I think I would not decide anything until the consultant has discussed this with his colleagues. I would hope that they will weigh up all the pros and cons and offer you the best advice they can. Of course, in the end the decision is down to you and you must do what you feel is right.
Thinking of you.

FirstNikki · 24/02/2006 15:30

oh slink I can't believe you are going through this....my thoughts are with you and I really don't know what I would do in your position. Either way gives the same potential problems..I am not that knowledgable on these things but is there something they can give you to keep the contractions at bay?

Have everything crossed for you slink and I hope the consultant calls you ASAP. Get some rest too xxxxxx {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}
