Hi, kick run down

I'm 30+3 weeks with identical twins

Have Been adamant my waters were leaking since Thursday they said not.

Fast forward today I have a scan and twin 1 fluid is reduced and I'm showing signs of infection so they may be delivering babies tonight

To say I petrified is a under statement I'm so scared I suffer from panic attacks as it and I feel like I can't catch my breath at the though of it

I have got my self in a state please help calm me down, keep my mind off it untill I have to go :(

Well, you spotted it last time and you would again. And surely they'd listen to you now!!! Good luck. I second bb3 with resting. Xxx

greenlady78 · 17/11/2011 10:21

Hi katy, such great news to hear the little ones are hanging in there! We are all thinking of you! Lots of rest and nice food! Hugs xxx

xkatyx · 17/11/2011 12:40

Hi everyone, thank u again for your kind posts.

Today I feel awful, very sick, just managing to eat something so I can take my tablets.

Before my scan on Wednesday try told me If I didn't feel good top come in etc.

But after scan the consultant said that it is very unlikely my waters have gone and to continue as normal app every 2 weeks etc, where as before teysai I would be closely monitored.

So I'm not really sure what to do, I have been taking my temp and it's ok at 36.9.

Any suggestions?

Xxx

Go and get checked, just in case. Much rather go in and be told there is nothing wrong than for there to be something up that gets missed. I was in and out of hospital for a week and a half before my twins were delivered - lots of niggling things that were in fact symptomatic of a much bigger issue.

Xx

dreamfeeder · 17/11/2011 13:21

Oh, katy, go back!! These are your last babies you said so don't worry for a second about what they think, get checked if possible.

I'm thinking of you, sounds like you're having such a hard time...
Xxxx

shonnomanom · 17/11/2011 17:31

Katy go back again and again and again if you have to. Afterall the staff are paid to be there and do their job, they cant check you and the girls over if your not there. x

BB3 · 17/11/2011 17:55

Go in. . any slight worries, go in.

addictediam · 17/11/2011 19:04

Go back, don't worry about wasting their time, they wont mind. Before dd was born i was in hospital every other week. seriously follow your gut if your worried go and get checked

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 18/11/2011 00:40

Katy - did you go??

No matter how much a pest you think you are being you should always go. Half hour of their time is not a lot to ask and it could be the thing that keeps your babies safe. Honestly, this is not the time to be polite and worried about being a 'pest' - it's just not.

xkatyx · 18/11/2011 10:20

Hi everyone,

I didn't go back in, dh was home and I had a sleep and felt alot better.

Felt sick all night and this morning but ok now? I'm
Not sure if maybe "morning sickness" is rearing it's ugly head again?

I do want to go back and get checked, after everything I really don't feel happy about being seen once every 2 weeks!

But today is a nightmare of all days dh is at work and won't be back till 5 my little baby girl (10 months) is poorly with a horrible cough and cold :(

My poor dh has taken so much time off work and he has a fantastic job that pays well and they have been so good but unfortunately he doesn't get paid if he isn't there! :(

But I'm checking my temp every 2 hours resting lots and kinda eating well, just not hungry!

Babies are shuffling nicely, but I find it hard with twins to see if it's both of them or just one! That always worries me.

Katy can you chat to your mw about your concerns they might be able to do their own regular antenatal checks (hb etc) not quite a scan but reassuring all the same x

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 19/11/2011 03:27

Katy - how did the rest of the day go?

Please don't 'not go' because you feel you are being a pest or because it's a hassle to get there. Really - you need to see someone when anything isn't right - noticing even small changes can save unborn babies lives.

Taxi/Friend/Family/Neighbour - it doesn't have to be DH and I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love to have DD for a couple of hours.

A one year old and newborn twins - it's going to be fun at your house Grin Anytime you need someone to come over and cuddle a baby or three - let me know!!

dreamfeeder · 19/11/2011 09:29

Hi Katy, just a quick message to say Im thinking of you. Hope you either managed to get checked or feel much better

Xxx

xkatyx · 19/11/2011 09:30

Thank you :) I spoke to my midwife yesterday, she is so a friend which is great. She said they really shouldn't leave me till 36 weeks, but of course down to the consultants.

She said just to take it easy and look after myself etc.

I still feel sick, but ok.

Another thing is when I was young I had my belly button pierced, it's been out for about 10 years, but where my stomach is so stretched it has become very very sore.

OP posts:
BB3 · 19/11/2011 10:02

That's normal Katy mine did too and it's been out 7 years I also got an attractive star stretch shape round it right towards the end!!

xkatyx · 19/11/2011 10:19

It's horrible really red and now I'm
Aware of it I keeping banging it lol typical!

OP posts:
BB3 · 19/11/2011 10:35

Yep really tender where the internal scar is! That'll be them little blighters pushing against it!

xkatyx · 19/11/2011 11:53

Ah that will be another joy added!

Did you ever get worried about whether you are feeling both babies or just one? I have never been able to tell and I'm
Getting loads and loads of movement but think is that just 1.
I hate all this worrying.

OP posts:
dreamfeeder · 19/11/2011 12:22

I'm another who had a pierced belly button which is horrible when pg and collected stretch marks!!

I can hardly tell which is which movement wise early on, the general consensus from the twins thread is its almost impossible later I think. I go for much more left is twin two, sl lower and more right is twin one. But I get loads of movements already when i don't know which it is.

I am constantly worrying and I've got sooooo long to go too...

BB3 · 19/11/2011 13:31

I went in to DAU on at least three occasions petrified as I could only feel twin 2 - turns out the little buggers had moved position so I was actually feeling them both just not where I expected them! So yes, all the time x :)

xkatyx · 20/11/2011 20:17

Oh god think I have a urine infection and my belly button piercing hole is infected ;(

OP posts:
dreamfeeder · 20/11/2011 21:05

Oh you're having such a tough time... Go and get your wee dipped so you can be sorted if it is a urine infection. I got an infection in my belly piercing last time too- I only took it out in my last pg though...

I'm still thinking of you, and sending positive thoughts and good vibes your way xxx

xkatyx · 21/11/2011 07:45

Thank you dreamfeeder, I feel like all I ever do is moan

X

OP posts:
dreamfeeder · 21/11/2011 21:56

Hope you're feeling a bit better today katy, and got your UTI sorted. This twin pg thing is very hard ( I say already, from my mere 18 +4...). I feel like all I do is complain too, about aches and pains, worries, and exhaustion, partly from the pg and partly from ill DD who's having rubbish nights, poor little tike.

Still, not long for you now- are you 32 weeks now? Final countdown til you meet your babies!! I keep thinking of you and checking your thread. xx

xkatyx · 22/11/2011 09:30

Morning, aw dreamfeeder I hope your little one is ok and feels better soon.

Ok yesterday I wasn't happy I was sure baby 2 hadn't moved and not much activity from baby 1.

I though I would wait till after my bath as they both go completely mental in te bath .. But nothing.

So I had enough of worrying I called midwife for advice and had to go in.
I am so annoyed, they were so so busy but when a midwife did see me she wasn't listen to what I was saying, I kept on saying I'm finding hard to keep food in at mo etc. She just said it's normal?

Then I asked for her to check my urine and it has protien in it.
So she went to get me signed off my doctor who app said protien in wee is normal showin up when waters have gone?? Ok fair enough ... Then she said am I getting weekly app, I said no just one in 2 weeks. She seamed suppressed!

Is it me or am I just not being looked after as I should?

X
