Hi, kick run down

I'm 30+3 weeks with identical twins

Have Been adamant my waters were leaking since Thursday they said not.

Fast forward today I have a scan and twin 1 fluid is reduced and I'm showing signs of infection so they may be delivering babies tonight

To say I petrified is a under statement I'm so scared I suffer from panic attacks as it and I feel like I can't catch my breath at the though of it

I have got my self in a state please help calm me down, keep my mind off it untill I have to go :(

I'm also due in January, so I can imagine how worried you must be. Try to take deep breaths and not worry about the CS. There will be a lot of people in the theatre, but they are all there to support you and your babies and take care of you. Just think about the beautiful girls you will get to meet when it is over! Will be praying for your calmness and safe delivery of the new members of your family.

ParsleyLion1 · 10/11/2011 18:20

Good luck xkatyx I second the calm breathing suggestions and distractions.

supadupapupascupa · 10/11/2011 20:31

Another from Due in Jan. Good luck Katy we are all thinking of you. It's ok to be scared, we would all be, but you're in safe hands. Keep us all posted. You are in our thoughts xxx

redheadbedhead · 10/11/2011 21:19

yet another one from the January thread - we are all thinking of you and wishing you the best of luck. Try and stay calm and not worry about the CS - if it's best for the babies it's best for you too in the end. sending lots of love and good vibes your way xx

dreamfeeder · 10/11/2011 21:23

oh, good they've not whisked them out yet, every extra day is a bonus! You're being brave already through a stressful situation. I think the thought of the c-section will be worse than the actual experience. They're not doing nothing anyway if they're monitoring you closely. I know it's not the same but I was certainly terrified of having a big tear in my first labour- which happened, and actually, the reality wasn't as bad as the fear about it, except for another one bleeding with blood pressure drop in theatre so puking a lot (though the recovery wasn't great!). They were lovely in theatre for my repair, talked to me a lot, held my hand, helped wipe my mouth after being sick. Much, much better than I'd thought it could be.

I hope you feel a bit calmer, I'm thinking of you and your girls. Keep us posted!

Thank u all so much, I'm feel very lucky u all have taken the time to post.!I promise I'll keep you all up to date.

So far still the same .. Temp a little warm but nothing dramatic.

One minute I feel okish about csection and the next I'm freaking out.

My biggest fear other than the babies health is not being able to breath?! Did anyone feel like that :(
I really want to be able to enjoy the experience as these are our last.

I hope everything goes well for you. I know how scared and anxious you must be feeling just now. I delivered my twins at 33+4 after being told for 2 days I wasn't in labour and my waters weren't leaking. They were absolutely fine. They spent 5 days in special care but didn't require any help except with feeding initially. Thinking of you and your babies

Mum1369 · 10/11/2011 22:37

Please don't be worried about the section. You really don't feel a thing and don't have to do anything, just sit back and chill and let them do the work! Get DH to keep talking to you if you want, just keep talking and it really will be over before you know it. There's a reason all these celebs have them you know ;)

dreamfeeder · 10/11/2011 22:42

I had many panics in my first pregnancy about labour and not being able to cope with the pain, and the baby getting stuck and oxygen deprived etc etc- to the point I was getting very panicky and weepy at the thought of labour/ delivery. I did a self-hypnosis CD. The basics is relaxation, deep breathing, and visualising it happening in a positive way. So maybe relaxing, and thinking about going into the theatre, and your DH being there, and the anaesthetist talking to you, and then 10 min later, meeting your babies may help?

I hope it all goes miles better than you think it will!!

dreamfeeder · 10/11/2011 22:43

yeah, my consultant (who took 15 years to get pg I heard from a friend of mine who lives near her in a v small village) had an elective section. Common amoung obstetricians so can't be that bad or why would they choose it?!

miamama09 · 11/11/2011 09:51

another from the Jan thread! Good luck and keep us posted!

You will be able to breathe - don't worry. Start your breathing exercises now to practice calming down, then it'll come naturally when in theatre.

xx

DoodleAlley · 11/11/2011 11:12

I had an emcs with ds and I am absolutely petrified of surgery and completely squeamish.

It was fine.

Be prepared for lots of people to be around and being busy. It's a bit of a strange experience because until the babies are delivered you're the focus of attention but have the least to do.

I found it really helpful when someone there told me to do the breathing exercises I'd practised for labour to help me stay calm as this was in effect my labour.

They will talk you thru clearly and won't do anything without checking you are ok and they will encourage you to speak up if you are unhappy at all during the operation.

At the end after delivery I got freaked out because i felt a but uncomfortable and they wee totally cool with it and gave me more anaesthetic just in case.

They do this every day and are so experienced at it. And you, you can do this you are stronger than you think and we believe in you.

shonnomanom · 14/11/2011 08:43

Oh, that's good news katy, fill us in when you can, we're all thinking of you.

In fact, I think I dreamt about you last night... Hmm and your babies were here, so I will not change my career to become a medium...

Hope your next scan is ok, and your other children aren't missing you too much!

xx

xkatyx · 14/11/2011 18:25

KD0706 · 14/11/2011 18:35

Pleased you're home katy and it's fab that the babies are still in there. Every day really does make a difference. When you're feeling uncomfortable try to bear that in mind. I know it's hard, I was in a kind of similar situation with DD, in hospital for a week contracting. I just wanted it to be over, but everybody said how every day she stayed in was a bonus. It didn't feel that way at the time but it really is true.

Hope you feel better and your DDs hang on in there.

BB3 · 14/11/2011 19:58

xkatyx just posting quickly to say glad you and the girls are ok, make sure you get lots of rest and dh and the family continue to look after you xx you're doing great and as everyone has said every single day you keep them cooking is a bonus xx

I had emergency cs with the girls after t1's placenta detached and it was fine - in fact I quite liked the numbness and general chit chat of it all - compared to the complete agony experience of my first natural labour xx

xkatyx · 15/11/2011 14:41

Thank you bb3 I have a scan booked today at 4pm then go and see a consultant. I'm realt nervous I hope the babies are ok.
Got a dreadful feelin there gonna want the babies out or something, but that's me being silly.

I'll keep you all posted

Mum1369 · 15/11/2011 15:15

Good luck. Hope the scan goes well

BB3 · 15/11/2011 18:38

How did it go today Katy?

xkatyx · 15/11/2011 18:38

Hello,

Had scan waters round the babies are now normal?? Very strange?

Anyway now there saying there is no evidence that waters are leaking, so next app is in 2 weeks!!!

So apparently we go back to original plan scans 2 weeks and 36 week induction.

OP posts:
silverangel · 15/11/2011 19:22

Great news! Frustrating for you but the longer they stay in, the better! X

xkatyx · 15/11/2011 19:34

I'm a bit nervous about trusting them when they say waters aren't leaking, I feel really on edge!

But I'm very pleased they hopefully get a bit longer in there.

OP posts:
BB3 · 15/11/2011 21:40

Katy that's good news - I'd monitor the movements and leaking and if you're the tiniest bit worried get back in and get checked but until 36 weeks - rest!!!! Wink
