Hi, had scan today.
One little wriggly baby in there. Sonographer very nice. Got 4 photos - no charge. Dh saw it first while she did all the measurements, then she gave me a good look at it moving around - v active.
She moved my date to 4 days sooner - 26th May.
NT measurement 1.8mm and she said she could see nasal bone. Bloods taken. Said results in 2-3wks.
Going to tell both sets of parents tonight.

Hi all, had scan today all good, brought my dates forward to what I worked out so back in the may club, just 31st May. Couldn't do my NT test as couldn't get measurement (but did say looks normal). Have told loads of people today all totally shocked. Glad others went well.

I'm so happy to hear about all of your good scans!! Has everyone nearly reached the 2nd trimester yet?

My scan isn't until a week on Friday :( sooooo long to wait, I'll be 13 weeks that day. I did see the baby a week ago though, so I'm trying to stay positive that everything will be okay on the 25th.

Is everyone celebrating their scans this evening? x

hippieshake I have my scan a week on Thursday so I no how u feel having to wait!! I will be 13+1.
But am going to phone up and see if I can get an earlier appointment due to family issues. Tough day today need sumfin to look forward to and cheer the family up.

Hi ladies, I've been lurking for awhile but wanted to wait until my scan today to join - all went well and I'm due on 26/5/12 (only a day out from the original dd). As for celebrating - we went to the gym -how rock and roll! Just told my parents - my mum cried (well it is her first DGC!):)

Has anyone on their 1st pg started getting a bulgy stomach yet? I have and am sure it's mainly blubber...(which would suck as can't diet) I can't be showing at 13.5 weeks surely? I'm gonna be mahousive by the end if so!

And my hip pain, weirdly has gone! I went swimming last week and am beginning to think that might have caused it. Can't quite manage a relaxed and lady like swim, got to try & race everyone ;)

I bought a pram, a second hand silvercoss 3d travel system from a local facebook group. Can't afford to buy the latest thing so I hope I haven't made an error. Ah well, it seems good.

Morning all...glad to hear of good scans! I had mine yesterday afternoon and all well here too! Little one was wiggling around and waving to us! The pictures aren't super clear but are good enough (though £5 for 2!!). Was such a relief as we found MMC at 12 week scan in May so so nice to be moving towards the end of the first trimester now!!

wommer I definitely have a 'pouch' of fat or showing, not sure but none of my trousers fit and I'm only 12+1 today!

Due date is 29th May.

Had my scan yesterday and my blood tests for the NT screening this morning. He/she was sleeping when we first started the scan and was NOT happy to be woken up, kicking, punching, sommersaulting etc. Took almost an hour to get him/her still enough to get some pics and do the measurements. So good to see it again though, its amazing how quickly they grow. Still the same due date, 28th of May. Told people today. So exciting. Pics were 4 for £8.... :) YAY. Good luck for everyone else!

I feel all weepy reading these lovely stories, congratulations everyone! I have to wait till next Tuesday, I feel very nervous and somtimes quite fatalistic about it, but am really keen to get it done now so it all becomes more real.

No bump here -- I thought I was looking a bit less svelte a week ago, but I reckon it was constipation . My guts seem to be in a state of total mayhem one way or the other.

veronica I'm with you on the gut thing. It's like having a constant tummy bug! I'm definately feeling much less svelte, struggling with the idea that I'm putting weight on. I went out and bought some new clothes to cheer myself up. I think I'm eating too much

we had our 12 week scan last week. Just relieved there was really a baby "in there"! (well it is the first time my claim has been verified by a third party!!) My EDD was 25 May but they have moved it to 19 May. My DH is only home every other weekend so we have a pretty good idea when it happened so the earlier date is probably on target.

The combined test result is analysed then and there at St Thomas' and risk of DS came up as low. phew. DH & I had never discussed what we would do if it came up any other way!

However I was told my PAPP-A hormone was low... anyone else experienced this? Supposedly means a higher risk of pre-eclampsia but this test is part of a pilot scheme they are running so not conclusive. I am not too phased by this at the moment as my mum had 4 premature babies due to high blood pressure/pre-eclampsia so am hoping it is manageable for me. I have been told that at the 20 week scan they need to do a uterine artery doppler..... fingers crossed it comes up ok. not sure i fancy spending weeks in hospital before the EDD.

Good luck to those of you still waiting on scans or results. Just got our date though for the 20 week scan - 19 Dec. not long now!

Anyone else having/had the flu jab? Are their any side effects? Not decided whether to have it yet......

Hi all,

had my 12 week scan this morning and we have one very shy and sleepy baby due on 20th May . It was really difficult for her to get good measurements as the baby was curled on her tummy with her arms over her head and didn't want to move. She had to get me to move around a lot and poke me a bit to encourage baby to move but finally got some nice pics. My EDD has been moved forward by 10 days but I'm not surprised. I told the midwife that I wasn't sure about my dates - I have been stressed at work and not paying much attention plus I had a couple of odd cycles before my bfp. Nice to skip forwards a week though. I am now 13+4 and just hoping that means the ms will ease up soon.

Good luck to everyone still waiting on their scans, I'd forgotten how amazing it is to see the little bean for the first time.

sir charles I haven't decided yet either...they tried to give it to me the other week but it was two days before we went on hols so I didn't want to risk any side effects and then this week I've had a streaming nose and cold anyway so don't really want to risk making that worse, so now I'm a bit about whether to bother, guess it might be a good idea?!?!

sircharles I have had the flu jab few weeks ago now and had no side affects and feel fine. They don't actually have a little bit of the flu in the jab which I always thought they did but apparently they don't.
Just wondering why do you not want it?? X

hippieshake I'm glad it's not just me! I often had waves of nausea which sent me running to the loo . Now I feel like almost anything could happen down there.

SirCharles, I had the flu jab at about 8 weeks and felt absolutely fine. My midwife wasn't sure what the rules where (I really don't know why!), but the nurse said I should have it, double checked the instructions which said it was fine, and phoned my GP for good measure. I did get swine flu and it was a really horrendous experience, and going through it while pg doesn't bear thinking about. I feel confident in NHS advice, and that flu is potentially worse for the baby than the vaccine.

That said, I still haven't had my scan yet, and am anxious to know all is well. The vaccine isn't the root of any particularly concern though, from my perspective.

sircharles I had the flu jab yesterday, right after getting my blood tests done for the NT test. I was the human pin cushion. I am super scared of needles and after having the hospital lose my first lot of booking bloods and having to get another 7 vials done was really not keen to ever see a needle again, but it was quick and relatively painless. Had a super itchy arm all day yesterday and it was too sore to sleep on, but feel fine today. I would recommend, I was sceptical cos the last flu jab I got, I got the flu straight afterwards, but figure its better to get it and hopefully protect the baby a bit more. :)

I don't know whether to get it or not either. Only thing putting me off is how ill we all were for the entire winter having had it, so assumed it throws immune system out of kilter. Don't have time to be ill with three small boys. Have had cracking headache all day, its amazing what you can get through when you just have to. Just three boys to get into bed (am currently ignoring them as they are ignoring me in the hope it might annoy them into submission - only working on number three right now who is furiously hitting me trying to get attention!) supper for dh and then bath I think. Bit of me time, losing track of who i am! glad all scans good.
