Hi cewafwb how often are they going to change?! Thx for the comments, all taken as intended.
Yes I am a first timer so no idea what to expect. Am slightly concerned re bras as R&P has been the only place to provide me with well fitting bras since they told me i was a 34E not a 38B (yes really) but cost is a factor!. Bravissimo has never quite filled the gap. Saying that I only have about 2 bras which I wear all the time so until now not been a problem but got a bra to wear with a dress a few weeks ago and was already up to a 34G so gawd knows where they will end up!. R&P do stock cheaper bras but some are eye watering.
There is another thread on here re the R&P factory shop which sounds fab. Shame it is not in London.
Btw I don't have super powers re ages but Alex had mentioned her age in one of her posts!

Thx for comments re tests. Will see how we go. Tests are recommended in London so parents can prepare for life after birth, not just to decide whether to continue or not. Makes sense to me. Plus they do sometimes get it wrong.

Suddenly I cannot eat as much as before, even if inwas ravenous beforehand. Feeling quite sick right now (felt same after supper last night) - purely from over eating! Is this normal?! If this continues I am going to have to break all my meals into 2 separate meals. Eating the amount I can cope with means I am ravenous again hours b4 my next intended meal! That will def get people talking.

Have not told work yet. Waiting til after scan. I know our mat leave is crap but still need it confirmed.

11 weeks today. I just ran a 10k cross country race up hills with very few downs. It was the most invigorating thing i have done (since I did it last year!!). Was slightly slower than last year and the year before, but it was such a lovely day and thought it would be fun, but did take it slowly as didn't want to push it too much. Did it in an hour. Sore toes now, otherwise all lovely and feel like I can take on the world. Bonfire going outside, must take boys out for walk with dogs asap before its dark. What a lovely day.

Cewafwb · 06/11/2011 16:12

SirCharles - R&P factory shop is where please??????

SirCharles · 06/11/2011 23:11

Ooh wow cewafwb running 10k? Well done Thanks You sound like wonder woman compared to me. Is all I can do to get out of bed!

SirCharles · 06/11/2011 23:12

Ladies - I have a scan this week and have suddenly been struck with a dilemma.... What should I wear?! Any tips plEase!

SirCharles · 06/11/2011 23:20

For R&P factory shop discussion www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/1336433-Rigby-Peller-how-did-I-not-know-about-this-shop

Appears to be in Desborough which I think is Northampton way.......

Wommer · 06/11/2011 23:25

sir Charles I'm having one tomorrow (can't wait but also very nervous!). Am assuming this one will be external so am just planning on jeans - which can be undone if necessary - and a top which I'll pull up.
Which day's yours?
Xx

SirCharles · 06/11/2011 23:44

Hi wommer mine is Thursday. No idea what to expect! Good luck tomorrow. I shall be going from work so may have some jiggers pokery with lifting a dress. Oh well. They much be used to it!

alwaysanauntie · 07/11/2011 08:44

I wore tracksuit bottoms & a t shirt for mine as didn't want to get work clothes covered in gel, but was first thing, also we have shower rooms at work which have plenty of space for getting dressed in. Turned out not to be too messy (plus gel was nice and warm which was a relief!) So may wear work clothes to next scan tomorrow...

CrackersandCheese · 07/11/2011 09:37

Just checking in to say that I'm really really tired. HOW am I going to get through a day at work? Plus I have a course tonight, so I won't actually get home until about 10pm. Boo hoo. Sad

Good luck with all the scans this week.

iowmum88 · 07/11/2011 09:42

sircharles take a spare pare of pants just in case u get them covered in gel. Cause otherwise u mite have gross wet pants all day!! Wink

AlexTasha · 07/11/2011 10:01

Hi ladies, hope you all had a good weekend. Feeling SO KNACKERED today, and hadn't been feeling nauseas at all, until this morning a woman stinking of ciggarettes got on the train and sat infront of me and kept coughing her foul ciggarette breath all over me. Actually could have thrown up on her. Makes me consider the flu jab! Are any of you getting it?

cewafb 10K? Oh my god, the most excersize I have done is walking up my stairs. I feel like I should be doing more. Considering prenatal yoga!
sircharles yep, I'm getting my scan done on the 15th. I am officially 11 weeks today according to my dating scan the other week. Are you going to get the flu jab? I got it once and it made me so sick, so not too keen, but don't want to get sick this winter.
always auntie I can see why you would get the test. As the NHS does scan for it in the 12 week scan (I think) I might change my NT scan to a gender scan at 16 weeks. I am so impatient to find out!
wommer Good luck for your scan!
na7ashaGood luck for your scan!

iowmum88 · 07/11/2011 10:19

alextasha I have had my flu jab feel absolutely fine. I have had a cold for weeks so thought it was best cause the last thing I need is to get ill with the flu.
I have thought about prenatal yoga as well and maybe some swimming classes but need to find where they are 1st!!

AlexTasha · 07/11/2011 10:39

iowamum88 yeah, i really dont want to get the flu either. You are not near S/E London are you? I'm thinking of doing classes in Greenwich....

Montsti · 07/11/2011 12:30

Cewafb - sorry for the delay in replying! I live in South Africa and we have private medical care/insurance (system is different here and the state hospitals are really not to be recommended) and have our "big" scan between 11-14 weeks (I will be 12+5 when I have mine) at a Fetal Assessment Centre which also tells us the gender at this early stage (assuming baby is playing ball so to speak). Very exciting as only 10 days to go until I know what I'm having though to be honest am just praying that everything is ok and the bean is healthy (have had some spotting and am generally a paranoid person)...I already have a DS who has just turned 2 and I'm 35 so a bit worried that I'm getting into the high-risk age bracket too...

I know the NHS won't tell you the gender until 20 weeks but think that must be to do with equipment/cost or for ethical reasons I.e. Some people might abort if they are told they are having a certain sex...not sure??

Good luck to everyone else with their scans!

iowmum88 · 07/11/2011 12:41

alextasha no I live on the isle of Wight, but am in talks at the min wif my DP about moving up north around the sheffield area where most of my family are, due to the fact that my DP is a musician and may have to go away to work so would be easier being closer to my family and friends.
It's a big decision as need to do it before this baby arrives we just don't know where to start!! Extra stress I could do without at the min!!

hippieshake · 07/11/2011 13:43

I just bought a pregnancy yoga DVD called Bhuddabellies, it looks really good, can't do it until 14 weeks though. I've been walking for an hour a day, and I'm going to start swimming in a few weeks time.

Had a teenie tiny bit more spotting this morning, phoned the midwife, booked in for a scan tomorrow at 10. My hospital have been fantastic so far!! They are so helpful and reassuring x

iowmum88 · 07/11/2011 14:17

Phoned up and got my scan date it's the 24/11 that will make me 14+1. Y is it so late? Is that right? Apparently been made for a while they just haven't sent me a letter!!
Should I query it? I dont like being a pain.

Cewafwb · 07/11/2011 14:21

Montsti well thanks for clearing that up, lucky you guys! My husband was bought up in SA and is desperate for us to go back and live over there asap. I am not too keen on packing up my entire life and moving out there, but at the same time I love it out there too and you have such super dooper weather, and this is so utterly miserable over here. My in laws took their children out there when very young, hence husband being bought up over there, and they had such a nightmare when they came home in terms of finances. It is so different over there to here in money terms, and I really don't want to fall into that trap like they did. Having said that we have so many friends over there, it would be great fun! Maybe just a year or so and then could come home again and keep our house so wouldn't be strapped. The boys are down for school over there on the off chance that we can't afford to send them here for secondary or the secondary near us is terrible etc, but not keen to do it unless we are there too, and that means staying for years as when my eldest is 18 and finishing matric this one coming in May will be 10 and therefore nowhere near starting secondary - and thats at the other end - this one will be five when we have to go over in the first place - and then we would have a completely divided family and I am not sure i am up for that! Ahh - decisions etc! Nightmare.

On the plus side - feeling SO much better, after the 10k run this weekend plus the 2k I ran with ds1 I am suddenly feel like I have a life again and can work out what happens when. The first trimester has lifted - I THINK - and seriously hope as suddenly I can see what a complete daze I was in! Awful.

How were scans today???

hippieshake · 07/11/2011 14:49

iow I've got my dating scan at 13 weeks. I think it depends where you live. My midwife said mine could be anywhere between 12-16, so I guess I'm lucky it's at 13. If you are any bit as impatient as I am though, you'll be wanting it to be sooner. Smile

bitbot · 07/11/2011 15:17

Hi All

I havent posted in ages, but have been checking in each week. Just had my 12 week scan today and changed my edd to 17/05 but all looked good. Hope everyone else enjoys their experience when they have their scans xx

iowmum88 · 07/11/2011 16:02

Yeah totally want it sooner!! Its silly cause you aim for 12 weeks and then you think you can start relaxing more and start to tell people but to have to wait another 2 weeks on top of that just seems imposible! Having my DS prematurely has just made me more on edge with the whole pregnancy! Just want to slap myself and tell me to get a grip.

AlexTasha · 07/11/2011 16:33

iowmum88 I would totally call and get an earlier one. Mine was booked for aaages away and I have PCOS so it was really hard to judge conception etc and I was all nervous so I called them and got one the following week, turned out the baby was only 10 weeks, so they used that as a dating scan and booked me in again for 12 weeks (next week). It was so nice to have an earlier scan, just to see the heartbeat and stuff, so I would definately reccomend calling and getting one for 12 weeks if you can. The staff in most hospitals are so nice and accomodating and you want to be able to tell people at 12 weeks not 14!!

AlexTasha · 07/11/2011 16:41

hippieshake Good luck for your scan!

Wommer · 07/11/2011 16:42

Hi all, just got back from scan. Totally blown away.. Didn't realise you can see it moving and wriggling! Have had my dd bought forward by 2 days to 20th may.
Can't believe that little thing's actually inside me - that seems totally crazy to me still!
Xx
