Oh my gosh que that must be so traumatic for you.

I'm afraid that I have no experience to share. If the bleeding has stopped though, that sounds good. From what I hear it is very common to bleed in pregnancy.

Please look after yourself and rest up. It's all you can do until tomorrow.

And try to think positive (easier said than done).

Thinking of you.xx

Sandydunes · 03/11/2011 14:42

Oh god is anyone else absolutely ravenous all the time, I could literally eat slice after slice of buttery toast, bowls of porridge, bananas and yoghurt and still be hungry. Please tell me I'm not the only human dustbin....

I have my scan tomorrow, very excited although dreading the trek to the hospital and the waiting time!

squidink · 03/11/2011 19:46

Hey queserasera, I'm in a similar situation. I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and started bleeding yesterday. It wasn't heavy but it was a few spots either. It seems like old blood and is exactly what happened when I was 7 weeks. I bled for 3 days then, not loads but enough to worry me.

They sent me to EPU and I got the all clear. Hope you get the same result tomorrow. As there are two of us in this group with a similar thing maybe it's not all that rare.

My doctor and midwife said you can get bleeding for no apparent reason and then go on to have a perfectly normal pregnancy and healthy baby. Hope that's the case for us.

Try to stay positive and not worry, almost impossible I know!

WillowB · 03/11/2011 20:04

Hi Que

At 6 weeks I had a bright red bleed that lasted about 4 hours with a few small clots. Heavy enough to wear a pad. Thought it was all over & menatlly prepared myself for the worse. Bleeding stopped overnight then turned to a brownish discharge over the next few days. Bled again at 11 weeks after DTD, again red. No cramps or pain either time. I called the EPU after the first bleed and they said MC bleeding is usually heavy & accompanied by pain & large clots

Had my 12 week scan on tue & all was fine so doesn't necessarily mean miscarriage. In fact so many people have told me since that they also had bleeding during pregnancy.
Please don't panic. Good luck tomorrow

W xx

Hi ladies, I am obviously quite late joining this thread, but I am due on the 28th of May 2012 and am so excited there is a thread! I'm a first time mum so finding it a little overwhelming at the moment, but am so excited!! Can't wait to chat to you all xxx

Wommer · 03/11/2011 20:41

Hey que,
I've also had some bleeding a couple of times. The first was 6 weeks, and then again at 8 weeks.
The second time I completely panicked - understandably as you do fear the worst - they sent me in for an early scan and everything was absolutely fine.

They just said it was 'one of those things' and that it's really common to have some bleeding in early pg.

Really good luck tomorrow - got my fingers crossed for you.

Xxxx

Cewafwb · 03/11/2011 21:25

que am sure you will be fine, try to relax or it will make you feel so bad. I am sure it is like the others say and will be fine.

sandydunes yes I am also a human dustbin and NOTHING can fill me up, even when I am eating I am hungry. Its awful.

Having said that, have given up sugar, as in, in your face sugar so am a much nicer person to be around and feel much much much less 'low' and snappy and completely out of control. Its a shame as I do love my sweeties - or did! Se how long it lasts, but for the moment I feel much better!

CrackersandCheese · 03/11/2011 21:56

Welcome to the thread alex. Lovely bunch of girls here and one man here on behalf of his better half. We've also got one lots of twins on the way so far.

We're all about panicking at the moment until we're all through the 12 week scan safe and sound. Do you have your scan date yet?

Dozeyland · 03/11/2011 22:00

Hey all. had a tough week. but scan on saturday.

hope you're well x

Hi CrackersandCheese, thanks! :)
Yeah, I'm a bit stressed and really want the 12 weeks to be up! I have my scan on the 15th of November, I have already had a dating scan, which was amazing! When is your scan? I think we are sue on the same day....

QueSeraSera24 · 04/11/2011 11:01

Thank you all so much for your advice, kept me sane last night!
Went for the scan this morning and all is ok! Strong heartbeat and a right little wriggler! DP says footballer, i say dancer!
Further on than i thought so when i get a minute i'll have to change my due date on here. Due on 20th May not 24th.
So glad everything is ok, gonna sit back and enjoy my pregnancy now!
Smile

hippieshake · 04/11/2011 11:13

Que that's lovely news!! What week are you in now then? I'm so happy for you Smile

I reached 10 weeks today, and touch wood I actually might be starting to feel slightly better.

My scan isn't until 25th November, so far away! x

Rugbylovingmum · 04/11/2011 11:14

That's brilliant new Que GrinGrinGrin. I'm so glad that everything is okay and your little dancer is happily wriggling away.

After a week of feeling great the dreaded ms has kicked in again this morning Sad. I'm trying to cheer myself up by telling myself it's a good sign but to be honest I'm just fed up. Can't wait to finish at work either - it'll be strange to be a SAHM for a while before I start calling it maternity leave but I'm really looking forward to having some time off with DD before DC2 arrives. Only 5 weeks to go until the end of my contract - hurray!

Brillant news que. I say dancer too :o)

alex my scan is the day before yours. It looks like there's three of you with scans booked for the 15th- it will be a busy day for updates.

I'm hungry again. I've already had two breakfasts. Hmmm. What to eat.

Also, very random question- anyone feeling a bit more gassy than normal? I'm starting to overtake my DP in the pumping stakes. Tis not very ladylike. I hope it's not just me anyway Confused. Please tell me this is normal!

AlexTasha · 04/11/2011 12:15

Yay - 3 scans thats exciting. Can't wait to hear how yours goes too crackers!
I am hungry all the time too. Cereal, toast, fruseli bars, yogurt, bananas and now I'm eating soup with more toast... that's a pretty standard morning for me at the moment (when I'm trying to be healthy!) haha.
I don't think it would be possible for me to overtake my DP in the gassy department, but I have noticed it getting a bit worse for me, definately!

iowmum88 · 04/11/2011 12:54

I'm with you on the trumping crackers my DP can't believe it and seems to be quite ashamed about what I'm producing.

I seems to have found myself drinking gallons of water and my appetite seems to have calmed down a bit. Had my flu jab yesterday so thats 1 thing out the way. Still no scan date and I'm 10 + 2 am guna give them till Monday then give sum1 a call but don't know wether to call the midwife or the hospital! Or maybe I should just learn to be a bit more patient.

squidink · 04/11/2011 13:41

Que, I'm so pleased for you! Fantastic news and now you can relax and enjoy the pregnancy.

My situation is still a bit complicated. The bleeding has got heavier and is now pretty much continuous. There's no clotting and it still looks like old blood but it's really worrying.

My mid-wife told me to go straight to A&E which I did. Had blood tests and a pregnancy test, which was positive thank goodness. They can't give me a scan until Tuesday which seems like an eternity. DH and I can't wait that long so have booked a private scan for tomorrow to try and get some news. Fingers and toes crossed, really hoping it will be another good news story.

hippieshake · 04/11/2011 13:54

Fingers crossed for you squidink Just take today to rest and keep your feet up. I know that my sister bled quite heavily with her second pregnancy, but she was fine.

I sympathise with the gas!! I've had it for weeks now, my tummy has generally been feeling 'upset' I think due to MS. I feel gross, I'm either burping or farting, and my stomach makes the most incredible noises! I guess it's the only time we can all get away with it though Smile

CrackersandCheese · 04/11/2011 14:23

Great. I'm glad I'm not the only big pump-a-tron on the thread.

iow to chase up my appointment I phoned the MW who rang me back and said if I was concerned (which of course I was or why would I have phoned?) to phone to hospital. There was a special number for the anti-natal scan line.

If I were you, I would phone up today and see. If I hadn't phoned up I would have been having my scan after 13 weeks- which is ok, obviously, just longer to wait.

What harm can it do to phone today...

Good luck squid

CrackersandCheese · 04/11/2011 14:24

Just thought, maybe the title for our second trimester thread should be- Less pumping, more bumping?

Biscuit
Dozeyland · 04/11/2011 14:35

Crackers I love that for a title! Smile

Not feeling as sick today, I had completely gone of chocolate (my one true love) so much so that DH was made to eat his in the other room. Here I am now sat eating chocolate raisins. I am so happy it's untrue!!

Montsti · 04/11/2011 15:16

Queserasera24 - glad all is well. So worrying. I bled with DS and panicked so much. This time I have had very slight brown spotting and now worrying that not all well as haven't bled...can't wait until my scan on 17th! Also find out what we're having - very excited!

Also waiting like a pig at the moment, but still nauseous so that's my excuse!

CrackersandCheese · 04/11/2011 15:33

Tis bigboobs that is having two I think.
