Ginger I had my booking in appt at 10 weeks so I think it's worth giving them a call to Chase up yours. Does no harm.

Had my scan this morning, so am officially dated at 11 weeks with edd of 15th May. Too early to do combined DS test so get to go back in 2 weeks for another look! Very exciting, I did shed a tear at seeing his/her little arms and legs waving about. :) Good strong heartbeat so all looks good. Big relief as I dreamt they couldn't find anything there last night, no sleep since 3.30 am...

Alisonjayjay · 25/10/2011 10:27

Hi ladies, I hope everyone ok. I've not been on for a while cos I've been all over the place with work and lectures. I'm a student nurse so got shifts in hospital and lectures to go to in uni plus a pile of work including essays and studying for exams. My ds is also being a bit of a pain at the moment. Going through a very cheeky stage. He's only 7 and thinks he can get away with murder. I'm a bit stressed at the moment. I had my booking appointment last week at 8 weeks and my blood pressure is high already. My midwife doesn't think its pregnancy related and they need to monitor it to make sure it doesn't get higher. It might just be stress related so trying to calm myself down a bit. I was getting a little worried during week 8 as my symptoms seemed to be easing off. My boobs were still hurting like hell but I suddenly realised I wasn't feeling sick or tired anymore. I should have just enjoyed it while it lasted! Today I feel awful again. Feeling really nauseous at the thought of food and I've been crying all morning for no reason. Anyone else feeling like this?

alwaysanauntie · 25/10/2011 10:33

Ps. Welcome Juveen congratulations! This is my first dc (both terrified and excited!)

CrackersandCheese · 25/10/2011 10:53

Congratulations on the scan always. Must be so reassuring for you.

Alison I had a little teary episode last night. The nausea is really getting me down. Finally decided to take a day off sick to rest properly. Feeling very sorry for myself and bored, I should add.

Rugbylovingmum · 25/10/2011 11:04

Congratulations on the great scan always!

My date arrived this weekend and isn't until the 17th November so I still have ages to wait . I am so impatient to get this first scan done and make sure everything is okay.

CrackersandCheese · 25/10/2011 11:19

At least you have the date through rugby. That time will fly by I'm sure.

I'm still waiting for mine

Rugbylovingmum · 25/10/2011 11:29

CrackersandCheese - I hope you get your date through soon! I know I am just being impatient. It's just that my work contract ends in December and we have decided that, as I am pregnant, we will take DD out of nursery for a while and I'll be a SAHM until my 'maternity leave' and will job hunt after that. If I wasn't pregnant I would be looking for a new job now so I just want to have everything confirmed IYKWIM.

Wommer · 25/10/2011 18:04

Hi all,
Am 10 weeks today Grin so that's only 2 left until (as I've been told) everything becomes wonderful!
Have definitely noticed that some symptoms have gone and others seem to have arrived; boobs much less sore but are the size of watermelons (!) also they're much harder than they used to be... Hair and skin much less greasy but still Lorenzo than pre preggers. What sickness I did have (sorry to those who have it bad) has pretty much gone too.
Have to say though my back is caining at the moment! Never have had back problems but by the end of everyday I'm in agony. This could of course be to do with the ginormous things on my chest! Lol

I'm also in the must have junk food camp... Have always been really quite a healthy eater but I have absolutely no will power when it comes to food right now.... Ah well it's the best excuse I'll ever have I guess!

Hope everyone's ok? And those waiting for appointments get some news soon xxxx

WidgetWB · 25/10/2011 18:31

Wommer - WHY CANT WE EAT PROPERLY??? I have lost ALL willpower, and find myself at the end of the day trying to work out what I have eaten only to find to my horror that its horrific and not healthy. I am the worlds most healthy person, never pick and rarely eat junk and here I am doing all the above! Have also lost most symptoms which makes me worry - it did during the other three by now - didn't get to 9 week with the other pregnancy - and I had scans at 9 weeks. I am going to be good this time and hold on till 15 Nov which is when my scan is. Seems so far away, and life is going so slowly! Half term interesting, fun, but have now seemed to have printed self a license to eat all day every day and utter rubbish instead of good vegetables and protein! Disaster! Even the exercise has disappeared into the ether, although am making myself do a bit. I am sorry for those who are having horrid MS etc, I feel for you. I remember the tiredness of the first 12 weeks with ds1 and probably 2 and am sure 3 but don't remember it so much. I think there is an element of the harder you work (office wise) the tireder you get etc, yet when at home looking after three little ds's it seems to be less exhausting in an MS sort of way. Anyhoo - just thought I would post a little update on what is going on this end. Think we haven't heard from a few for a while - where are you and are you ok? Codwidow are you ok? 7Lamby are you ok? xx

Little9 · 25/10/2011 19:04

Am with you junk food ladies, although am managing to get a few pieces of fruit in there as well. Just seem to be eating constantly at the moment and wake up every morning absolutely starving!! Skin was bad but getting better. Boobs aren't quite so sore anymore, however emotions are all over the place. Think I'm stressing about my 12 week scan which is on Friday. Can't wait but also dreading there not being a heartbeat. Only two days until I'm put out of misery!!

WidgetWB · 25/10/2011 19:20

Can't believe you are 12 weeks already! Rather jealous! Good luck with scan, am sure will be fine, let us know. x

GingerLemonTea · 25/10/2011 19:52

Hi All,
Got a phonecall today at 4ish to ask if I could come in tomorrow at 9am and that she knows its a bit short notice. I can have another one, but I would have to wait. I took it, luckily boss said it was ok to go to 'hospital appt'. Feel a bit wrong for not telling her where I am going, but not ready yet. MW also said she had tried to contact me last week - however I have no missed calls from her!
Anyway will go tomorrow, feel a teeny bit nervous for no reason - what can I expect?

alwaysanauntie · 25/10/2011 21:02

Ginger at my booking in appt there was lots of form filling, family health history questions (mine & DH's), they tested a urine sample for glucose & protein, took blood pressure, weighed me & calculated bmi, took blood for lots of tests (hepatitis, hiv etc), asked where I was planning on having the baby and ran through various bits of pregnancy advice. If you have any questions might good to write them down as I forgot to ask about flu jab. At the end they (i had 2 MWs there) told me which appointments to book and when (ie: 12 week scan at hosp and 16 week check up with mw).

I think that just about covers it! Hope it all goes well xxx

Ps: having said I wasn't having much junk food, I ate 3 pieces of cake today & had fish & chips (from proper chippy) for dinner. Not healthy but tasted soooo good!

CODwidow · 26/10/2011 08:45

widget I'm still lurking about seeing how everyone's getting on. I have my follow up appt today to check everything has gone.

Hope half term is going well, I've become a bit of a hermit since so must get the kids out later before they kill each other lol

dobbybono · 26/10/2011 10:47

i have done something very bad today,i have stolen my husbands cheese roll out of the fridge and brought it to work with me for my lunch. i know he was going to have it today at football! needs must and all that

CrackersandCheese · 26/10/2011 14:00

Tut tut Dobby. How was the sandwich though? Worth a grumpy DH??

I dragged myself into work today after enjoying the horrors of daytime TV yesterday. Starting to get very tired now though and wondering whether to make an early escape.

I think there's a few people on the list that haven't joined in for a while. I guess when we make a 2nd trimester thread, we can start it again. I guess we'll all have had our due dates from our scans by then [hgrin].

I don't know if any of your were following Badnails thread but she had a little baby girl- such good news. Hope all is well there.

Oh, in other news, I ordered some maternity jeans yesterday. I don't know if that is too pre-emptive, but my normal jeans are just too tight with all this bloating. Anyone else in maternity wear yet?

dobbybono · 26/10/2011 14:25

i ordered my first pair of maternity work trousers yesterday as i cannot fit into any of my clothes. Also i think it's quite exciting! slightly miffed when midwife put me down as 10kg heavier than what i am ,when i queried it she said why should it be more?!
really enjoying eating loads of crap which i never normally do.Smile

dobbybono · 26/10/2011 15:06

thanks crackersandcheese,i thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich! i feel the same as you,i'm at work now trying to stifle another yawn and wishing i could go home to bed.
I think it's a really good idea to start a new list for the 2nd trimester,i think most of us will soon be there x

Natz03 · 26/10/2011 15:59

Hi Ladies, Im due around the 24th May, little anxious due to a previous miscarriage but all positive feelings so far.... Although i must say i dont ever remember feeling so ill with my 2 sons, heartburn is a major issue as is fatigue but you know what im just grteful to be pregnant so trying not to moan too much :) xx Wishing you all smooth pregnancies xxxx

satyricon · 26/10/2011 16:43

Good evening ladies. We're due 31st May.

I'm a chap... does this bar me from the group?

GingerLemonTea · 26/10/2011 17:58

Had booking appt, it was fine, MW nice. She changed my date to 30th May (2 days later than I thought).
I told her I had had 2 small beers since finding out (one at birthday & one on girls night out as not ready to tell), and got told that I really shouldnt have anything. Feel a bit told off.
She also checked my carbon something. I don't smoke, but she said I had a tiny level in my bloodstream due to passive smoking & therefore baby does too. I'm not around any smokers, though have been abroad in past 3 months where people did smoke in bars etc.
Also got loads of leaflets/ info etc. She said I would get scan between 11.5 & 13.5 weeks.
Ginger

CrackersandCheese · 26/10/2011 19:35

Oh my gosh, a boy in the group. Of course you're welcome! We might have to pretend you're a woman though when we start talking about...well, you know...stuff only women should know about.

ginger forget about your silly midwife. 2 beers is really not the end of the world!!

WidgetWB · 26/10/2011 21:54

Blimey, not sure I like your midwife Ginger. Well at least they care I suppose. satryicon not entirely sure what policy is on men, but given that its called Mumsnet, I would have thought you would rather go to Dadsnet and discuss with them - some of these conversations are gross and you wouldn't want to know what we are actually feeling going through all of this. The finer details are not what men want to know! Put your dw or dp on instead!! Save yourself the pain!

iowmum88 · 26/10/2011 22:12

My midwife told me about that carbon monoxide test and said she refuses to do it cause if some mums said they don't smoke and they get high reading and the tell the mum that then they are basically calling them a lier and not a good way to start off!!
Hope everyone is feeling ok apart from the ms and tiredness! Im hopping it passes soon and so is my DP as he cooked me a decent meal and I couldn't eat it I felt terrible!
Eagerly cheaking the post for my scan date and my consultant appt date! 9 weeks today going slow but getting closer!! X
