hippieshake · 21/10/2011 19:08

Oh 7lamby I'm really sorry for you. My thoughts will be with you this evening xx

Montsti · 21/10/2011 20:17

hi! Can I be added to the list - EDD 26/05/12. Think I got lost in earlier messages...thanks!

Little9 · 21/10/2011 20:35

7lamby - so sorry for you. Take care of yourself. Big hugs x.

Hippie - congrats. Such a relief!

Bigboobs - how wonderful!! There was bound to be one of us!

Been feeling really emotional myself today. Think it's because I'm so tired and husband is away with work for a few days. This time next week, I'll know if all is well as will have had my scan. Think this will be the longest week of my life!! So scared. :(

Bigboobs YAY - what fun! Can't remember is this your first or now first and second or more?

7Lamby I am so so sorry, I was so hoping for you and crossing all fingers and toes. xx

CODwidow I shall miss you and our chats. I think we were the only ones who had many many children! Well you had many many and I had many. I am so sorry for everyone who looses. I feel nothing, and to be honest wouldn't be shocked if they told me it wasn't growing either as not tired, not sick, nothing. Doc says be happy that I am ok, but not sure thats what it is. Have pain in my side, my right side, and it could be ectopic again, if I had twins once then I could have twins again I suspect. Perhaps another scan to confirm, but will wait and see if pain gets worse.

Welcome to all new people, hope you are ok. x

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 21/10/2011 22:02

Hi Can I join please?! I'm just 10 weeks with first baby so all a bit daunting, scary and exciting! Sickness is starting to ease now thankfully, but still really tired all the time and continually getting up at night for the loo! I had my booking in appointment with the midwife last week, which went well and I agreed to be a students case study so will have her following me throughout and coming to all my appointments, which might be odd but nice to know i'll recognise at least one medical person at the birth!
Hope everyone else is doing well.
I need to try and find some petite maternity jeans, black trousers for work and winter coat... any ideas? I'm finding it hard to find petite stuff Hmm

widget I shall follow your posts I hope all goes well and I think you'll do great with 4! Xx

WidgetWB · 21/10/2011 22:24

CODwidow that makes me feel so much better, knowing you are there watching. Please don't if it all hurts too much, but for me, will be amazing to know that you know what I am going through and to help me through this ridiculous decision to continue on with no 4. Thinking of you and thanks so so much. xx

hippieshake · 22/10/2011 08:51

Quick question.. don't know if anyone else has had this. When I had my scan yesterday they estimated I'm around 7 weeks (thought I was 9). When I've come home and looked at my diary though, that physically can't be possible, I must be at least 8 weeks. Could I just have a smaller baby? xx

WidgetWB · 22/10/2011 19:29

Hippieshake When I had my first, this didn't happen, with my second they thought about it and didn't change dates, with my third they changed me by a week to make him due earlier and when they cut him out a week earlier than that he was so undercooked it wasn't funny. His toenails hadn't even finished growing!!! This is the 'new thing' it seems, to change people's dates based on scans, EVERY foetus MUST be the same size or your dates MUST be changed! Soul destroying at this stage, I really feel for you, especially when you think you have done so well to get to nine weeks and then they reduce you by two weeks! I would sit tight, let them think what they think, and when you have your dating scan at 12 weeks - or 14 for you - they will probably change you back again or even forward. It could be that you just actually ovulated later than you thought, although, I would agree, you would know best. Just smile and let it ride over you till it actually becomes important. They will probably change your dates yet again at the 20 week scan too - or 22 in your case - unless they change you again at 12 - its a nightmare and I have NO idea why they do it now and didn't then! I had a 3D scan with my third ds which I HIGHLY recommend - it was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen, I spent 30 mins just staring at my baby and watching 'it' - you can not find out at that age because they are so big, they sonographer doesn't have to go 'low'. However, point of that is that they confirmed that 'it' was a week smaller than my dates and therefore I knew I was right. I think it really only matters if they move you backwards and then you are past your due date, because then you have a really really late baby which can put it in danger, but all of this you can talk to your midwife about now or in the middle or nearer the time. It could be that it was just small this time, and will be bigger next scan. Don't worry is what I am trying to say. It will work out and if not - talk to them - they are human and watch us so carefully! Sorry - that took quite a long time to get out! Hope it helps though. x

hippieshake · 22/10/2011 19:43

Thanks Widget that made me feel loads better. My scan was supposed to be on the 9th November, but now it'll be about two weeks after that, I can't wait! I can start telling everyone then =)

xx

lucy23110 · 23/10/2011 09:53

Morning all. Just wondering what people are do about the flu jab??? At my booking apt my midwife advised me to book an apt to have it as "pregnancies and flu don't mix well" but not sure how I feel about it. I have never had one before and touch wood never had flu, just wondered what others are going to do? L x

hippieshake · 23/10/2011 10:24

Morning Lucy I just had mine, my Doctor didn't really give me much choice. He asked if I'd booked in for one, I said no, he said 'I'll give you one now' and phoned through for it. Hey-presto.. flu jab! I didn't feel unwell after it at all, and he did say that it wouldn't harm the baby. I had flu last Christmas, so I guess it was for the best x

WidgetWB · 23/10/2011 10:33

I'm not doing it. We all had it about three years ago as I thought would be nice not to get flu although no one had ever had it before, and we have never ever had such an ill year. The children caught everything going, everything and anything and ten times worse than most! It was horrific, and there was a certain implication that your immune system goes down because you have it, could be rubbish, but I haven't had a year like it before or since, so definitely not for us!

GrowingBean · 23/10/2011 14:26

Hello everyone! I know I am really late in the game but I would also like to join in if possible. I didn't even know that forums like this existed. I am 8 weeks 5 days today. I have had so much anxiety during this pregnancy since I lost my first one. I have a scan scheduled for 31 October. I really have not had any symptoms except for cramping during the first 6.5 weeks. It is nice to see others going through the same feelings and emotions. I know that many of you have been asking about the flu shot. They gave me mine as soon as they found out I was pregnant. They said the shot was safe but that you were not supposed to get the flu mist. I look forward to growing with each of you.

so sorry lamby :(

lucy - i had the flu jab the other day.

has anybody else got pregnancy acne/sensitive skin..... and a crap appetite wanting to eat junk. :( ?

my skin is terrible at the mo :( :( :(

OP posts:
iowmum88 · 23/10/2011 16:59

I have really bad skin at the min and am the same with food! The idea of eating plain salad makes me feel so ill!!
But am looking forward to roast beef for tea!!!
Hope everyone is feeling ok.
I'm going to get the flu jab as a lot easier then catching the flu and causing harm to the baby. X

Enfyshedd · 23/10/2011 17:33

Haven't been offered it yet, but my scan is in 2 weeks. I don't want to have the flu jab myself - I know too many people who've had side effects, including really serious ones. I'm more concerned about slipping in the ice this winter like I did twice last year.

alwaysanauntie · 23/10/2011 17:58

Afternoon all, I'm planning on having flu jab just to be on the safe side, but wasn't mentioned when I had my booking in appt. So will have to see what the deal is.

Dozey I'm just craving hot food (as in soup, pasta, stew etc not as in spicy although did enjoy a nice curry Friday night!), am trying to be healthy, and maybe it's because the weather's got cold, but so long as my meal's warm I'm happy. Had a few spots last couple of weeks but gone now, in fact skin's never been this good. Maybe its all the water I'm drinking and no booze! Will change soon enough I'm sure...

imissbrie · 24/10/2011 04:25

Hey I've been reading and following this thread for a while without participating. I'm 25, from Glasgow and 10+6 weeks pregnant, woohoo! It's my first and me and my other half are very excited :D I have finally got a date for my booking in appointment, I will be 13 weeks pregnant though by the time it comes ... As if I haven't waited long enough!

I've been lucky that I've had no nausia as yet but oh my god am I tired! I get nackered so easilly, hope this subsides come week 12!

I'm eating loads, tying to keep it healthy though with fruit n veg snacks.

So that's the low down on me :P I've loved following this thread its good to see others going through what I'm experiencing. Nice to meet you all.

Dozeyland · 24/10/2011 10:09

Good lord, woke up at 3am in hot sweat, the room spinning, felt sick and tummy cramps.
Dp and I had a curry last night and I don't think the chicken was cooked thoroughly, dp is feeling
Unwell today too. Rang drs and just said to keep drinking fluids etc.

Back to the bad skin subject: I have a lotion from the drs, but its not getting better :( :( :(
My skin has never ever been this bad. And I'm so low with it now I don't even want to leave the house.
Dd's birthday party saturday, not looking forward to turning up looking like a complete mess (and nobody knows
About the pregnancy still, so can't explain why I look the way I do)

I just can't seem to eat healthy things. I wish wish wish I could just crave fruit and veg all the time but its
More... Biscuits, fatty foods etc.

Any tips on healthy snacking ideas?!

CrackersandCheese · 24/10/2011 10:21

Sorry to hear the news 7amby- thinking of you.

Hello to all the newcomers .

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time with it at the moment dozey. Hugs.

Am feeling very sickly today. I had quiet a good weekend and thought the nausea was settling down. How optimistic of me to think that would be the case. Fortunately I'm working from home so am never too far from the bathroom.

Montsti · 24/10/2011 13:22

Are any of you guys really stressing about things? I already have a DS (just turned 2) and am 9+2 weeks and really can't wait until my next scan (had one at 7+6) which is on 17 November... I am so nervous something will go wrong - much more so than the first tme round and am thinking that speaking about the pregnancy on here is jinxing things...other than DH/gynae I have only told 1 person I know as am so paranoid...I did see a heartbeat at my scan which is obviously a good thing but I know that's no guarantee...

GingerLemonTea · 24/10/2011 18:14

9 weeks today and not heard a thing since GP appt 3 weeks ago, when I filled in a form.
