There are far too many smileys in that post LOL!

cep · 11/08/2011 14:51

afternoon ladies

dach yay for the 2 embies, fx for the 2ww keeping everything crossed for you.

harrassed sorry you've come out with a cold, mine didn't actually develop into anything, ds is still coughing sneezing and snotting but hasn't developed too bad a temp so is still going into nursery.

coconuts sorry you've been feeling so bad today. Just remember it is completely normal to be up and down, even those who haven't been through what we all have have depressed days. I think the not feeling anything is a self defense thing, i'm like that with a lot of things haven't let myself have those "melting" moments i had over clothes with ds.

scooby i've been getting odd sharp pains in my side lasts a few seconds then stops, i then end up knicker checking but thankfully has been fine.

i have a busy few weeks coming, i have my 28 wk scan next friday, a mw appt and my gtt test the following week then a consultant appt the week after that.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 11/08/2011 15:00

Oh and I meant to say kat totally with you on the wet feeling. I find myself rushing to the loo thinking i'm either bleeding, having a show or losing fluid and it turns out to just be excess discharge. Glad it's normal though. Always something to worry about aint there!?

cep you do have alot of appts coming up, busy busy!

harassedandherbug · 11/08/2011 15:06

kat and coconuts - me too on the wet feeling! Going through boxes and boxes of panty liners.......yuck. It really doesn't help with the mentalling and knicker checking!

cep is the 28 week scan standard? I don't get any more after the 20 week unless there's a prob. I had one at 36 weeks with dd as I'd had two, totally unrelated, periods of reduced movement.

bigmacandhappymeal · 11/08/2011 15:11

harassed super ((hugs)) for your due date - thinking of you today.

Dipping in and out again in between work calls... ooo it's busy on here today!

OP posts:
cep · 11/08/2011 15:23

harassed i meant to say before sorry about your due date. i get one at 28 wks and another about 34 wks, because i'm a hunker chunk, they're worried cause i'm big baby will be as well. Ds wasn't, he was a nice 7lb2. have to admit though that sometimes when baby moves it hurts a little, so am hoping isn't big already.

coconuts i have 2 weeks then a week leave, i can't wait i haven't had a good amount of time off for months.

LaraandLittleBean · 11/08/2011 15:25

Dachs - got everything crossed for you. Sorry my knowledge of IVF remains quite minimal.

Big hugs to you Coconut - I too find that I can feel worse when I am home doing little. Going out and "changing the air" is vital. Doesn't help though that the weather is rubbish here. I was just about to walk down to the bank when the heavens opened so I am now back on the sofa.

I am intrigued re. the cereal - which one is it?

Irene - your B&B sounds like terribly hard work but it must be very rewarding. Where is it based? Can we have a sneaky peak?

I have to also join the pantyliner club... Couldn't go out not wearing a pantyliner these days.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 11/08/2011 15:29

lara Lucky Charms! MMMMM!!!! I always remember my nan used to buy them for me, (I have so many good memories of my nan associated to Lucky Charms cereal!) and they were the highlight of my visits to her house. I was so angry when she stopped buying them but I never understood how a shop could just stop selling something!

I saw them in a shop here the other week and nearly fainted with surprise but they were £11 a box but DH has obviously found a good deal online and I now have 2 x 400g boxes to see me through :)

IreneHeron · 11/08/2011 15:30

Coconuts Harrassed, yes on the knicker thing. I was convinced the other day that my waters were going, or that I'd wet myself. It happened to be just discharge.

Yes Coconuts, we do B&B. We moved to Scotland in October from London and didn't know if we'd get any work, DH is a landscaper and I do garden design. We decided to do B&Bs, especially as I got pregnant and couldn't really get a job due to childcare arrangements. It is soo busy because of the festival.

I was on the other thread, but had a bit of a lull during my second trimester. I felt like i needed to forget about being pregnant for a while.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 11/08/2011 15:32

Xposts all over the place! irene sounds like you made quite a postive move :) although running a B&B must be uber stressful. Can we have a cheeky link? I've never been to Scotland before... If I do, I'll know where to stay :)

DeterminedToGetDiffedDachs · 11/08/2011 15:36

coconuts 7 week scan follows pregnancy rules so technically 5 weeks from egg collection and fertilisation (which was Monday) as it's effectively dated from two weeks before 'ovulation'. So technically I'm 2 weeks and 3 days pg at the moment, whether it implants or not. obviously if it doesn't implant then I'm not really pregnant at all, but FX I will be!

harassedandherbug · 11/08/2011 15:42

Thanks girls. I'm not too bad tbh, although god knows how I'll be later! So flipping hormonal as it is. I got all watery eyed at Toy Story 3 the other day and dd (5!) spotted it and took the mick a bit! Little monster she is!

Cute alert: she's started talking to the baby through my belly button as she thinks that's some kind of direct route to him Grin.

Dachs I was out at the pub with my preg yoga girls, one of whom had IVF and she was telling us all about the whole process. It takes some dedication!! I don't know how you've managed it, you must be a very strong lady.

Cep I was borderline on my weight. I guess the mc's so close and all that comfort eating didn't help!!! Nice to get another look though Smile.

Oh god I remember Lucky Charms....

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 11/08/2011 15:48

dachs that is the part of pregnancy I can never get my head around, so thanks for explaining that :) Weird how you are two weeks pregnant before you actually are. Sticky implantation vibes coming your way :)

harassed Toy Story 3 gets me every time and it is a weekly staple in our house! My DD is the same as yours, in the bath my DD pours water into my belly button to give the baby a drink in case he is thirsty! She wanted to buy him some shoes the other day so his feet don't get wet in the puddles. Aw!

cep · 11/08/2011 15:56

harassed my ds keeps shaking my tummy saying "wake up baby." not sure what he expects to happen after he does it though.

CollieandPup · 11/08/2011 15:58

harassed sorry it's your dd. Glad you're holding up ok. Bloody hormones! Has anyone been watching the Killing? It was the funernal of the teenage girl who was killed in the last episode and DH didn't want to put it on 'bcs of my state'! Lol

Never had lucky charms but I always look at the American food in selfridges and want to buy it but it's just soooo ridiculously priced! coconuts that's so sweet of your DH!

If anyone wants anything from mother care let me know as I gave a15% off code, but it expires tonight. I've bough a couple of blankets and sheets.

Ps I never said in my last post but congrats to Lara becoming an aunt! Details please?!

CollieandPup · 11/08/2011 16:16

Just updating the list although please check as I have a feeling baby brain may have kicked in half way through!! Also on iPad so not a good combination! pink tigger and mamap not sure if your details are right as you are all down as being the same gestation but with different due dates?? Confused

Hello ladies,

Just popping in to give belated congratulations to Nix, wave a wagging finger and tell the Owlet to get a move on, and wish my very stickiest best luck to Dachs and the embies.

I seem to be doing fine - have beaten my previous maximum gestation by 3 weeks and been signed off by the consultant from a preterm risk point of view. Still have one extra scan to go (for growth and placenta position) at 34 weeks, but if I get through that, I might even be declared normal! I was a bit worried that I would very rudely queue-jump at one point though, as I was hospitalised with contractions just before Nix had Corey.

Work has been manic, trying to get things neatly sorted before mat leave starts - I only have just over a week to go - hooray! Hopefully after that I might have a bit more time to keep up - it's lovely to see so many ladies here, but I can see you are very busy chatting! Thanks for doing the list Collie - my dates are spot on.

Evening all, blimey, so much news!

Scoob I have pains deep down in my pelvis when I stand up and try to walk too quickly. My MW said it was all my ligaments having to tighten up when I stand and start to walk - could it be that?

Coconuts Oh poor you, you sound just like me a few weeks ago. Its hormones, as the others have said, and your head trying to protect you from any more pain ie self-defence. And hugs to Pink too, you haven't ruined things for yourself, its all about coping the best way for each of us, isn't it? PS Coconuts you can't have too many smilies in a post!

Apologies to Collie for being tardy on the train times - will post as soon as I've checked them out! Can't wait!

Hugs for Harrassed, hope today's been ok for you

And hugs for Dachs too, thanks from me too for all your explanations, IVF is something I'm shamefully ignorant of Blush

The Ikea trip was uneventful but busy. The comedy vegetables won in the end, and we've come back with matching blankets, toys, lampshade etc etc. We were both a bit freaked out in the end, as because we've been given everything else, this was the first time we had to choose things which we think she'd like. Gulp.

katherine2008 · 11/08/2011 20:07

Dachs woo hoo for those two embryos. Have everything crossed for you. Sorry to hear that a few people are feeling a bit down - it doesn't really help with everything that's going on in the world at the moment - I can't bear to watch the news any more! In other Brian news, today I got out of the car in a tight space in the carpark and forgot how big I was and scraped my bump on the car door. Ouch! Let's hope the baby's first word isn't any of the expletives which followed...

LaraandLittleBean · 11/08/2011 22:30

Ladies - a quick late night post (yes, this is late night for me...). I was just on the dreaded FB when a friend had posted a warning that I wanted to share with you.. (relevant for any of you that have FB on your bberries or i-phones)... For ease, will cut and paste her post (scared the living daylights out of me):-

EVERYONES PHONE NUMBERS are now on Facebook! No joke - go to the top right of the screen, click on Account, then click on Edit Friends, Then go to the far left of the screen and click on Contacts. All the phone numbers stored on your phone are there. Please repost this on your Status, so your friends can remove their numbers (&mine). Please check yours and UNSYNC yr Blackberry or iPhone and delete the numbers. The instructions are on the right side of the screen.

In summary, I followed the above instructions and saw that ALL my phone contacts were now on FB in addition to those of my friends! All sorts of personal contacts I wouldn't want to share with a soul... Scary stuff. Just wanted to warn you all!

bigmacandhappymeal · 12/08/2011 11:52

hope all is OK with you all today and that you have lovely weekends planned

thanks for that lara, they are cheeky buggers aren't they...

Just wanted to say that I ordered a mattress topper to go on my bed as I was waking up so much when turning and finding it hard to drop off... so far so good so I would recommend the purchase if you're finding it hard.
