Wel I have walked to playschool and back and the pad is dry so perhaps it was just a bit of discharge from the pressure of going to the loo. I dunno.

If they are going to go then I would prefer them to drip as it give me more time to get to hospital so will keep an eye out. Thanks for both your advice :)

harassed sitting back and waiting is not my forte either unfortunately.

I remember watching the Baby hospital program that was about 23 weekers and I was exactly 23 weeks when that was on and I couldn't get my head around the fact that the babies born on that program were about the same size as the one inside me. Weird.

Does anyone watch eastenders? I do (I hate myself for it though) and last night Kat had her mc. Was really quite disappointed with how they portayed it tbh.

I do hate watching things about babies on TV Grin but I still do it every day!

bigmacandhappymeal · 08/09/2011 13:40

Ahh I love a bit of discharge chatter! :) Glad everything seems to be OK coconuts and a massive thanks for posting your list. Brilliant.

velvet delighted that all is OK. Are you going to keep the other scan ;) Can we tempt you to the London meet up rearranged date?

wombat thinking of you...

WiW I can't tell you how jealous I am of aquazumba. I love zumba, even though I look a sweaty shambles doing it and can't wait to do it again post-happymeal's arrival. I have the hip movements of an arthritic 70 year old and wave my arms like I'm trying to catch bees. Don't care though! Try it!

collie - rubbish about your NCT class. Mine start early October and I fear I will be with you on the village hall/hard green piles chairs. Sounds like there might be some OK people there - mutiny if she keeps banging on. Also I love your mammoth posts too (speaking as a fellow massive poster though :) )

boodles glad things are going OK with DH... one day at a time.

And welcome properly milky and layla you have been stapled and by the OWL TM stapler... no going back now!

28weeker went really well today, thanksWiW . I like my CMW. Anyway, heartbeat good (I love hearing it), belly measured and bang on (although exposed my dreadful pube afro in error as I had my glamour over the bump jeans on and yanked the top down too enthusiastically). Then I had to go to the local hospital and have my blood taken. First time I've had it done by a phlebotomist rather than a nurse. Blimey you can tell the difference - a vein found straight away and plenty of blood taken in less time than it took me to say "i'm always a bit nervous at having my blood taken"

So afterwards I went to Next and bought some gender-neutral baby bits and then to Saino's where I bought more and some muslin cloths. Hurrah!

In short, i'm in fine fettle!

Gosh coconuts how exciting/scary. Call your midwife for advice mAybe??

Thank you so much for your reassurance everyone. We're on our way to hospital now. I still don't know whether to be induced tonight or not. Some results suggest cholestasis but more recent ones not. Risk to baby is very small but sudden and catastrophic if t does materialise. On the other hand, induction when baby and body are not ready is not risk free either and may be totally unnecessary... Am going to ask for another sweep and see how ready I am and takE it from there. But still scared of doing the wrong thing for me or her and ending up regretting my decision. It's not clear cut either way and consultants refuse to advise one way or the other. They just say it's a tough call!!

Sorry for me me me. It helps to get things out!

Hey wombat
How difficult - much simpler if someone would just say 'this is the best option'. Given your dates miniwombat is cooked and ready to be served so i guess it's assessing risk based on what you know. Sounds like the sweep is a good first step . We're all thinking of you and sending you positive energy and lots and lots of ((hugs))... and looking forward to hearing about the wee one.

Who knows... you could be 24hours away from a brie, goats cheese and pate sandwich followed by a winebox chaser :)

OP posts:
CollieandPup · 08/09/2011 16:32

wombat the lack of advice must be v frustrating. Its not an easy decision for you to make, but good luck we are thinking of you.

laylas did you say you ahd been diagnosed with the same thing as wombat....what does it mean for you?

I think i have lost a date on the stats - Has anyone else?

CollieandPup · 08/09/2011 16:32

Oh by the way, Blackkat how long did your count the kicks band take to arrive? I orderd mine a week ago and i've still not got it......

bigmacandhappymeal · 08/09/2011 16:59

Oops, sorry if I've naffed up the list collie . Did +2 days but may have gone wrong along the way.

Go to yoga!!

OP posts:
Blackkat · 08/09/2011 17:06

Wombat hope you are doing ok - Bigmac's advice sounds wise to me - miniwombie is fully cooked so all should be well - the sweep sounds like a positive first step.

Collie mine came the next day - which I was v surprised about as they say it could take a week as they are staffed by volunteers.

I think I'm right on the list, but then given my addition skills that doesn't mean a thing!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 08/09/2011 17:24

I'm right on the list too, although it took me a while to work it out. The days all merge into one at the moment!

What can I enjoy post pregnancy? I don't like mouldy cheese, wine or pate so haven't really missed anything!

CollieandPup · 08/09/2011 17:31

I'm still here (at work that is).....so no yoga Sad will go for a swim instead!

bigmac BIG apologies, you did not cock it up i just had a Brian moment! Actually i must have had it this morning as we took our forthnigly picture of my bump today Blush and i hold a piece of paper with my date - which said 29+5....but of course i'm only 29+4. Opps

bigmacandhappymeal · 08/09/2011 17:38

I am a postaholic at the moment. Must resolve this as I'm too easiily distracted from work and have too much to do. However...

Right coconuts here we go, I've given this some real thought as well...

amaretto, lager, real ales, ooo summer cider, lovely G&Ts, mojito's - all varieties, in fact cocktails, all varieties, cava/champers without being polite about 1/2 a glass, christmas-time baileys, cured meat - hmm prosciutto (sp?), spicy food (as no more heartburn!), all other drinks anytime you want them as you will not risk peeing yourself by drinking too much without planning a loo stop, coffee and tea without wondering about caffeine, homemade burgers in gastropubs without having to be a madam about them being brown all the way through and for me... dippy, runny, orgasmic eggs! Poached/boiled/fried.. just let that yolk run...

OP posts:
ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 08/09/2011 17:56

Sorry mac should have specified, I don't drink alcohol at all. How boring am i!? I still eat runny eggs anyway.

The one thing I can have that I've missed is rare steak.... drool!

You clearly put so much effort into that list... love it Grin

IreneHeron · 08/09/2011 18:03

Wombat thinking of you, I think the sweep will be a good idea too. Hope all goes well.

I'm not missing any food, perhaps non decaf coffee. I am looking forward to not feeling so bulky and being able to sit up easily and not have to prop myself up on loads of cushions all the time.

I've started packing a hospital bag now thanks to the chat about it on here. Not got far. I've been sorting through all DS's old clothes. It seems I have about 500 baby vests, and no sleepsuits or outfits. How did that happen?

DS is off school with chickenpox today. He's totally full of energy but I could easily fall asleep at any given time. I had cp when I was a child so I think I should be ok. Got my midwife appt. tomorrow so will ask her.

bigmacandhappymeal · 08/09/2011 18:08

not boring at all coconut - I'm clearly an old sous! I can't believe I missed rare steak off the list. I'm too nervous to have it. I can taste it now... with lovely chips. And I'd use the last chip to mop up the blood. [blush/drool]

My GP mate told me runny eggs are fine as long as they are from the UK and have the lion stamp. Apparently means vvv low risk of salmonella. Again, just been a bit of a fanny about it. Will toughen up as I'd love a runny egg. Also she said that while salmonella isn't great, it only makes you feel bad, listeria is the danger one as it can affect you and bean.

collie no worries. I wish i'd thought of bump photos...

hello again ladies. i have decided that a name change really doesn't suit me so am back to normal now.....

thank you for the lovely welcome back and all the helpful advice. im a little less mental than i was monday and as you all correctly predicted DH altho gave me a giant iceberg cold shoulder for 8hrs has now begun to thaw....i have also told parents who are happy to let us stay here and continue to save up so that is a relief.....

career wise is irrelevent....altho i am terrified about telling them cos of the looks and whispering (don't work in a very nice office sadly....) i am brazen enough to well, brazen it out....

can someone please fill me in on what happened to magic???? i remember her from thread last time i was on....Sad

coconut if its any help you wont use half of the things you take but you wont care cos you will be soooo happy. i had a bag for labouring with all the usual useful things including a fan (flappy one not electric) cooling evian spray HAIRBANDS and also some carbogels things that runners use to keep energy up...really good for giving you instant energy when you are flagging...baby bag all the usual suspects that you have listed but make sure the cotton wool balls you get are as giant as you can get as the little ones are no match for meconium filled nappies Wink

...or course it really didn't matter about my perfectly packed bags as Alice Elizabeth was born on the driveway whilst i was hanging out of the mondeo, delivered by my mum and husband with dad on phone to paramedics at 6am on a friday morning in front of all the neighbours!!!!! SmileWink

i sympathise HUGELY with those of you who are suffering from heartburn as i have suffered with that thru all of my pregnancies....its just vile. i just used to chew packets and packets of the cheap boots antacids and i found the fruit ones were better than the mint....

i get hungry everytime i read your name bigmac.....Wink

sorry not to name check everyone- i will try and pick up the pace i promise....

i also am hopeful that some others than are as newly pregnant join as i am sooooo far away from where you luck ladies are for the most part.....

DiffedAgainDachs · 08/09/2011 20:30

boodle There is another thread on the conception board (called the Freakout room which I set up back in about February when I was pg with the twins) which a lot of people join before they feel ready to 'graduate' to this thread. That's where most of the more newly pg ladies are. :) They're a friendly bunch too if you want to join. People seem to be staying there until about 20 weeks and then coming over here.

magic sadly died about three weeks ago. she had a heart condition.

I saw my consultant this afternoon Grin He's going to scan me every week until further notice (and until at least 14 weeks when I get my stitch)

Freezingmyarseoff · 08/09/2011 21:03

boodle so glad to see you back and that things aren't quite as bad as they seem. I'm Shock & Grin at your eventful arrival of your DD. Now there's a labour story if ever I heard one.

As dachs said, Magic8 tragically died about 3 weeks ago, leaving a 5 yoDD and twins aged 6months Sad

Dachs great that you saw your consultant and all was okay. I was going to ask but you beat me to it.

wombat sorry that you're faced with a tricky decision, and most irritating that the consultants aren't really helping either. I guess a sweep will let you know if miniwombat is ready or not depending on the outcome.

Bigmac I often eat runny eggs now, am thinking I should not be doing that. I'm definately looking forward to some serious cocktails but that's going to be ages away if I'm lucky enough to BF too.

Collie your NCT teacher sounds rubbish. Perhaps next time you should just take the initiative and give lots more info than requested when asked your name and maybe others will take your hints too.

Talking of Brian moments, I went shopping TWICE last week without my purse, which I only discovered at the checkout. You'd think I'd learn after the first time but apparently not Blush

Irene hope your DS' chicken pox isn't too bad. Poorly children are exhausting for parents. I'm keen for DD to get it, 4 of her friends have had it but nothing yet.

harrassed sorry you are having these worries but at least you are getting good care and monitoring. You've still got a way to go so lots can change between now and then, but sorry because that's not a great of deal of help for you right now.

Waves to everyone else - you ladies do chat (which is ace) but it means it's hard for me to keep up with you all!

cep · 08/09/2011 21:05

evening ladies.

collie i would have hit the roof. ds stayed in a moses basket right next to me. certainly did not mean he was left to cry. what sanctimonious c**p.

boodle so glad dh is thawing and the your parents took it so well.

coconuts i'm a bit concerned about having 2, worried i'll be short tempered (more so) with the lack of sleep. thanks for linking the bag thread.

wombat hope you're doing ok

dach oh that's such reassuring news. so glad they're being so good for you.

i saw the anethetist (can't spell it sorry) today, again he's happy for me to go the the mlu, as i have good veins in my hand and a good airway apparently. he's written something in my notes but i cannot understand 1 word of his writing.

cep · 08/09/2011 21:09

i meant to say you can eat rare steaks as long as they've been sealed peroperly on both sides.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 08/09/2011 21:25

cep Really? You're telling me this now? At 37 weeks where I have had to order four medium steaks everytime I have eaten out? Grin Bloody hell! Grin

cep · 08/09/2011 22:01

yep says in the pregnancy book i got from the mw, lamb and beef as long as they've been browned properly (spelt correctly this time) you can have them cooked however you want.

Wombat33 · 08/09/2011 23:21

Evening lovely ladies. Quick update from hospital. Had a sweep and am now 2cm dilated which is good news. Was all ready to go home and give it a few more days but persuaded the mw to do one more set of bloods to check mini wombat was still fine. To cut a long story short, my bile acid levels have gone right back up again. No knowing why they are fluctuating so much but it's decision made - induction is on. Because I'm already dilating, they don't need to do the first stage that was going to be done over night so I go straight in to having my waters broken at 8am tomorrow (assuming I don't magically go into labour naturally overnight - but that's a bit hopeful I think!). I'll keep you updated tomorrow xxx
