I thought for sure someone else would have posted this before me! I am 5 weeks along (sounds so insignificant.....) and am seeing my doctor tomorrow to get things going. Am really excited and am hoping that things go well! According to those pregnancy charts, my edd is June 12.
So come on mumsnetters, who else is joining me here?!

hi All

panic over went to the doctors this morning and they took a vaginal swab to check for infection and as i haven't had any pains or lost any fluid infection seems more likley. doctor listened to babies heart beat and said it was fine and womb feels normal size. just told me if pains do start or any blood to go to the fetal assesment unit. Feel alot happier, only a week and 3 days till my 20 week scan ( I will be just coming up for 22weeks then)

Thanks for all your kind thoughts.
xxxxxxx

hop eeveryone elseis doing ok

Anna01 · 02/02/2004 11:04

I've finally got on to MN! It must be something to do with my ISP/computer but I haven't been able to log on for several days now but it doesn't look like anyone else has had this problem.

Karen - just wanted to say glad everything is ok after your 'scare' and good luck with your scan.

You too Bogwoppit!

Only 2 more days to mine now

scampadoodle · 02/02/2004 11:29

Good luck for your scans, everyone. Keep us posted...

lazyeye · 02/02/2004 11:32

I'm fed up. Waiting for appt for detailed scan as got 1:134 for MSS - rang hossie today and they haven't heard of me......am going to keep ringing them if they don't get back by early pm.

This is stopping me enjoying my pg as fraught with worry......I'm 19+2 and keep thinking God if I do have to thave the amnio etc...I don't have too long to make the decision.....even tho I probably already know the answer

Glad ye are all doing well.

Anna01 · 02/02/2004 11:39

Sorry if I've missed the answer somewhere else Lazyeye but does that mean you've decided you probably won't have an amnio?

lazyeye · 02/02/2004 11:42

Well, I felt a bit pressurised as they made an appt for me to see the consultant and for possible amnio the day after I got the result. BUT I did get a very good nuchal - 1:1600 so I thought a more detailed scan looking for Downs markers would be better at this stg - I know I still might have to have the amnio. But this delay is making things harder........ho hum.

Anna01 · 02/02/2004 23:03

I'm sorry Lazyeye, I didn't ignore your reply earlier but I've been having problems with my computer all week and and yet again MN threw me off (not on purpose I hope!) and so did my ISP. After hours of fiddling I have finally got it working - hooray. Anyway, for what it's worth this is what I wanted to say earlier...

Please excuse my ignorance but what is MSS and did they get that from a scan?? Your NS was excellent and if you were in this health authority you would not have been offered any other tests, procedures etc. However, I fully understand that, no matter how rational you are are or how much good advice you read, there is always a little voice in the back of your head telling you you may the '1'. Medical staff always seem to present you with the worse case scenarios, I guess cos it's their job and cos they have to cover their backs. I don't have a downer on them but sometimes I do think that, psychologically, these tests are more damaging than not. I got a 1:65 risk from my NS and for me it felt right to go for a CVS for various reasons. But I agree with you that I would want an anomaly scan first before making any further decisions so I hope they have given you a date now!

Let us know how you get on and good luck!

Had my anomaly scan today and everything is fine - the sonographer even told me he had a big tummy! (ah bless, he's already looking like one of the family). The bad news was that my MW yet again failed to turn up - I'm going to give her one more chance but I'm fast losing faith in her and we haven't even met yet. Ho hum...

Good luck to you others - is Bogwoppit or Karen next?

Bogwoppit · 04/02/2004 20:33

lol Secur, although fat tummy's not the only thing to worry about I hear - is it true boys come out with swollen bo**ks??

Do you intend to find out the sex of your baby?

I too am now over-excited although I know there's a long way to go yet. Our already overstretched credit card is starting to burn a hole in my purse...

Bogwoppit · 06/02/2004 10:38

couldn't get into m/n yesterday!

scan went well. a long scan cos baby decided to be stubborn & not move into right position for ages! I had to move into various positions & sonographer ket prodding bubs to get it to move!

Decided to keep sex a surprise.

Have a lowlying placenta so have got a re-scan @ 34 weeks.

scan puts my EDD at 14th June not 19th.

karen01 · 06/02/2004 14:47

Hi all

I have my scan on Monday I am so excited. We went shopping this week and goteverything for the nursery and ordered the pram etc. Early i know but our furniture is all going to be shipped out to Cyprus in two weeks so I decided hubby can take everything with him and get everything ready before DD, DB and I get out there. Also had to get DD new bedroom decor so that she didn't feel left out this is getting realy expensive making sure one doesn't get left out all ready!!!.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, I will let you all know how my scan goes on monday.

take care

Cavy · 06/02/2004 15:41

Hi All, I haven't posted much because not much is happening. Baby moves a lot & people say I'm finally showing (not yet 5 months, but I guess that's pretty good for a 3rd pregnancy).

I had my scan so long ago I can hardly believe those of you still waiting for them.

Are little boys bits swollen are just enormous?? Anyway, it was the size of them that convinced me my baby-to-be really is a boy

Anna01 · 06/02/2004 19:10

Hey Bogwoppit, your DS1 is only a month older than my DD1 so we're following a frighteningly similar pattern - let me know when (if!) you're planning on #3. Fingers crossed for your placenta as well! (Cavy's in the same boat, isn't she?).

Yikes, I've got a lot to learn about little boys - still not sure I understand 'big' boys come to think of it. Is it true that they're more needy and later developers (I mean the babies of course!) or is this yet another old wives' tale?

Nearly there Secur and Karen - good luck next week with the scans.

karen01 · 09/02/2004 22:13

Scan went well today took ages as had to go for two 20min walks to get the baby to face the right way so they could check the heart and face, it is stubborn already. baby is very active though. everything is fine, I have to go back in 3weeks for a doppler scan ( unfortunatley the consultant wants to see me the day my DH moves to Cyprus, he told me to go to the appointment as he has a very early morning flight so we are going to say our goodbyes the night before, not looking forward to it as don't know when i will see him again, the next time could be when we have the baby hope not though) then I have to have a glucose test done at 27 weeks as i am overweight, then scans at 28weeks, 32wks and 36wks. Hospital was very good though as they have already given me the dates and times for all my scans.

This pregnancy seems to be going quite fast, I have started to break it up into my DD school terms hopefully to help it go quicker, this means we only have this half term, then easter hols then when the next Half term comes we will all be within 4weeks max of having our babies, yeah !!! Sleepness nights R us!!
