I thought for sure someone else would have posted this before me! I am 5 weeks along (sounds so insignificant.....) and am seeing my doctor tomorrow to get things going. Am really excited and am hoping that things go well! According to those pregnancy charts, my edd is June 12.
So come on mumsnetters, who else is joining me here?!

That's great news Karen about your scan. I've got to have a glucose test as well (I have the double whammy of being overweight and having a diabetic mum) but why do you have to have so many more scans?

Hello girls - glad to hear all these scans are going well. Mine isn't till next week, but my dh can't come & wants me to change it, but I don't want to wait anymore. Might have to take both ds1 & 2 along.......should be fun.

Seeing consultant tomorrow re MSS result, but don't think will go for amnio unless he really advises it.

Other than that, ticking along, getting bigger. V tired at night & most put out to be missing Corrie due to falling asleep.

Still feel slightly like I have a hangover all the time....

karen01 · 10/02/2004 21:48

Hi

having so many scans due to having IUGR in first pregnancy due to very poor dopplers so they are keeping an eye on it this time round just in case.
Hope everyone is keeping well
take care

Gomez · 10/02/2004 22:12

Hello All,

Pleased scan went well Karen.

Well Secur - were you right?

Hope everybody is okay!

Apologies for lack of input lately ladies but having real bad pelvic problems, making it hard to sleep so v. tired and then struggling at work as tired and in pain and DH away again!!! Bo hiss. Uni starts back this Thursday so more pressure. Got very sexy support thing from Physio and and kinda hoping she was joking about fitting me with crutches next visit!

But aside from sore pelvis/sacrum illiac thingy all ticking along quite well with rest of PG and counting down now (okay I know I have still got 16 week to go but doesn't seem that long really).

Doing the whole 'which pram' thingy and can't decide between the Jeep Twister or the Jane Powertrack 360? Any views?

Right off for a cup of tea and some toast.

Take care all.

Anna01 · 11/02/2004 10:51

Hi all,

Eek Gomez, sounds painful - did you have problems in you first pregnancy as well?

I'd love to buy a new pram but as we're now so short of money I feel obliged to use the Britax Ultra System we have stuffed in the attic. It was fine first time round, just a bit big compared to today's models. I'm afraid I don't know about the ones you mentioned but if I did buy another pram I would be tempted by a Maclaren Techno.

How did you get on Secur??

Lazyeye, I can understand why you wouldn't want to change your scan - I'd be the same. How were your results?

Not much more to report except am putting on too much weight (not surprising cos I'm eating for England) but thank God for bra extenders and elasticated wide-legged trousers!

I've also still not met my MW so I'll will ring her today and ask, ahem, politely if she's actually going to try and meet me before the birth (this is so not a good start to our relationship).

I've lost track of edds now. Mine's 10 June. If you all remember, can you post them again when you next report in?

Take care now.

Gomez · 11/02/2004 13:55

Thanks Anna - I can sure join you on the eating too much bus - reckon I will be spending the next 40 years on a diet however much I eat for the next few months so hey ho!!

I didn't have any problems first time around but I cracked my coccyx about 18 months ago and doc/physio/osteopath reckon this is causing the problems this time around. It is bl**dy sore what ever is causing it and will likely get worse apparently.

Hope all went okay Secur. And you too Lazyeye?

Take care all.

Oops - EDD 2/6/04... 24 weeks today yipee!
Right back to work.

Pleased it went well Secur - although you sound a wee bit disappointed that new baby is a girl?!?!

Working for home today (i.e. skiving) and should have gone to Uni this afternoon (first week back) but am feeling really shitty - got a v. sore throat and 'itchy' ears. Fell asleep on the sofa at about 11am and only woke up about 10 mins ago! DH back from trip away tomorrow morning so nice lazy weekend in bed for me I think.

Right off for a cup of tea. Catch you all later.

Anna01 · 13/02/2004 14:32

Great news Secur on your scan. I've had a quick look at previous posts so am I right in thinking you've got 1 dd and 1 ds already?

Hope you're feeling better Gomez. Had a slight panic this week as a 'meningitis type' virus is going round dd1's nursery so had to stop myself locking us both away for the rest of the month. But all I'm feeling is a stitch in my side everytime I go for a walk (being late and always rushing probably doesn't help). I've also started having really weird dreams. Usually I would put this down to too much gin but now I can't remember if this is quite common in pregnancy. Anyone else having this?

Cavy · 14/02/2004 22:43

Gomez: those sound like types of PowerRanger, not prams!
Bogwoppit: cute photos of your DS. Can you tell who the baby 'looks like' from the scan?
I made a list of EDDs before... is this right?

2 Gomez
7 Scampledoodle, Skara
10 Anna01
12 Cavy
14 Bogwoppit (revised from scan)
16 Juelgaz, Karen01
13 or 23? Caithncait
25 Wuzzybee
26 Lazyeye
29 Secur
30 Freddiecat

Gomez · 16/02/2004 13:53

Spot on for me Cavy - thanks. He, he only time I have ever been at the top of a list!

Hope you are all well. Anybody have grand romantic gestures on Saturday? DH did ask he if he ws supposed to wish me Happy Valentines or something - I just said no, but you can make me a cup of tea!

I have managed to burn my bum thou. DH brought me a hot bottle last night for my sore bum/back/pelvis thingy and hadn't put the top on properly. Ouch!!!!!!

Wasted more time on Sunday looking at prams again but keep coming back to the Jane Powertrack one - it is just so darned expensive. Quite right by the way Cavy they do sound like Action Heros.

Right back to work - off for a long weekend his week so need to clear my desk.

scampadoodle · 16/02/2004 14:51

I am the 5th or 6th. Not sure which. Does anyone else think their bump is HUGE? Feel like I'm waddling already & I'm only coming up to 6 months...

Anna01 · 17/02/2004 10:48

Thanks Cavy for the list. How are you feeling?

I used to care about Valentine's Day when I was younger but now I've come round to my dh's way of thinking that it's all commercial claptrap. Or maybe I've had any romance beaten out of me (not literally I hasten to add!). Anyway the last thing I feel at the moment is romantic or sexy. My bump looks big to me but because I'm overweight anyway I think it still looks I'm just putting on loads of weight. With my trousers on that have shrunk in the wash I look like Billy Bunter sadly!

I just happened to come across a copy of Closer (ahem), and there was an article on how big Gywenth Paltrow was looking when all she had was a grapefruit sized lump on her. Good job we're not all put up to the same scrutiny. But then all pregnant women are fair game aren't they?

Lazyeye, just wanted to say I've been following your other thread and feel for you because the not knowing and conflicting messages must be very soul-destroying. Good luck if you do book a private scan - it sounds like you need to know now.

juelgaz · 17/02/2004 11:00

Hi everyone,
Hope that you are all keeping well, I feel fine at the moment apart from terrible heartburn, guess I will have that until the birth now, I did with my last two pregnancies.
Just an update on my due date, it is now 10th June, but I will have to have another c section so I will be looking at having baby 1 or 2 weeks earlier, so anywhere between May 27th and June 3rd looks about right.
Getting bigger by the day, and lots of lovely kicks inside!
Take care everyone.

You took the words right out of my mouth - I was thinking exactly the same thing yesterday when I was browsing (others might call it lurking! But I have a confession, I do sometimes post under another name, not to be contraversial but thought I might have to rant about my mw soon whom I STILL haven't met and who hasn't bothered to turn up to any appointments yet or apologise for not doing so).

How are you feeling? So far I have minor complaints physically, not sleeping very well, slight pain from sleeping on my side, ligament pain in my tummy area. Mentally I'm a bit unstable at the moment! Am feeling very irritated nearly all the time, especially with my dd. Poor thing, I try my hardest but she just wants to play with me constantly and I want her to be a bit more independent (and would want her to be even without a new baby) - I'm all played out frankly. How do you cope with so many Secur?

Anyway, that's my little whinge over.

Take care.

Oh oh, forgot all about those pelvic floor exercises which I was quite good about first time round - yikes better try and do some unless I want to start leaving a little line of 'dribble' in my wake...

Are you getting heartburn? I had it soooo badly first time round that I used to cry with the pain but I think that was because dd was (and still is) a very long baby so everything got pushed up very quickly. So far I only suffer occasionally but am already gagging at the thought of taking Gaviscon again. This time I'm trying to control it with fizzy drinks. Can't remember where I read that tip but so far so good.

And yes, don't want to slag off most mws - I had such a fantastic one last time. I shall try and reserve some judgement until (if??) I meet this one face to face and hope it's just a very bad phone manner and certain amount of endearing scattiness...

cathncait · 20/02/2004 23:04

Hi all, I have been really lazy on posting here...mostly cos I'm, well....lazy . But I have defineatly been keepin up with everything and am really glad to hear everything is going well for most. Finally life here has settled down for us. DH has had the all clear as far as his kidney cancer was concerned (they removed a cancerous tumor and the kidney), so we are all very relieved and life gets back to usual.
My pg is going very smoothly and normally as it did for dd - only with more aches and pains this time and with Bl**dy haeomoroids this time..grrrr. Last time didn't have any poroblems until delivery...but...oh well.
Everything else is great and this baby is a wriggler!
I'm feeling a little apprehensive about the delivery as last time was long (nearly 20 hours) and with a few complications (vacuum, episiotemy, retained placenta.etc) but really hope that this will be better this time. As far as I can tell most people seem to have a better time next time around? I HOPE SO!
Does anyone know if its possible for a baby to move too much? Might sound stupid, but I'm sure dd didn't move as much as this one does?

Anna01 · 21/02/2004 11:15

Welcome back Cathncait and glad your dh is ok - what a horrible time you must have gone through.

I'm hoping like you that this time round it will be more like shelling a pea from a pod. More chance of it but not guaranteed I know. What did you lot with 2 or more find??

I'm also beginning to worry about who's going to look after dd1 during my labour. I'll be ok if it all kicks off in the day but I don't have any relatives nearby and for one reason or another I have to rule out the friends that are nearby for late evening/night duty. I'm left with the prospect of having to ask my mum to come and stay, gulp. Apart from the fact that she is 78 and not very sprightly, I will probably end up killing her if she stays with me cos I can't say we get on very well. I'll need to think on that some more.

As for the baby moving too much I've personally never heard or read that it is a sign of a problem but mine is also definitely more wriggly and stronger this time round, especially between 9pm - 12pm. He also likes chocolate snack times

Gomez · 21/02/2004 12:03

Hi All,

Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend. Had a sh*t of a week - large family trauma with PsIL. Still not sorted, lots of he said, she said, it said, going on. Big impact for us thou but hey we will cope! Won't bore you with the details - and trust me they are boring

Off work for a few days so quite looking forward to the rest - and we are heading up to Balamory (well Tobermory on Mull obviously but you know what I mean) tomorrow! I think I am more excited than DD.

Getting bigger and sorer as the days pass and also starting to get a bit more interested in the actually delivery bit - as opposed to the whey hey another cute wee baby on the way! Elective section last time (DD breech and on the tubby side) so no real idea what is going to happen or how I will cope (just the same as first time around I know but seems different somehow)! Also had a fairly large PPH post-delivery with DD and am getting confusing messages on that one - i.e. more likely to happen again, no connection or who knows depending to whom I speak. And the thought of an episiotomy makes me shudder..............

Right I have throughly scared myself again so off for a cream bun Take care all.

Is anybody else waddling already? I feel like such a great big fat cow! Hate to see myself in the bath. I'm so much bigger than with I was in other pregnancies.
