Hi! I thought I'd better start a new thread now because it might get busy tomorrow morning and I don't want to lose you all Grin

I didn't know about the limit. I'm still completely humbled that I've had so many well-wishers Smile, so I feel a little self conscious. Although I think we've all been led down this path by the baby somewhat!

Am completely knackered tonight so will say goodnight and will endeavour to keep you posted on happenings tomorrow.

Thanks once again for keeping me company xxx

eatyourveg - the messages are there for if she wants to read them, if she doesn't want to - she wont. They aren't flashing across the wall in her room or noisey like text messages!! :)

Grin at the idea of these messages going across her room on one of those LED light things.

Another lurker popping in to say thinking of you, hope all is going really well or that you are managing some rest if it has slowed up.

LoveInAColdClimate · 11/02/2011 11:13

I have been lurking for weeks but just wanted to say hope it's all going well. Thinking of you and Pebble.

eatyourveg · 11/02/2011 12:06

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak and FoghornLeghorn glad its just me being paranoid then. Blush MN is such a great place to find support. I can empathise with Southsea being so far from home for such a special event and am glad that MN exists to help her through. Good luck and best wishes to all the Pebble family

galwaygal · 11/02/2011 13:13

Good morning Southsea, hope that your night was ok. Today is the day that you thought would be a good day for pebble to arrive, so hope your wish comes true!

Grin
NickNacks · 11/02/2011 13:59

Another Lurker!

Thinking of you!

allyfe · 11/02/2011 15:14

I'm thinking that your silence is a good thing in that things must be happening!!!!

I'm really hoping it is going okay!

And is it cheating to join the sweep stake now??

A girl, 4lbs 10 oz, born at 5.18pm (GMT).

Got everything crossed you are all doing well and enjoying the process (even with all that pain!).

deemented · 11/02/2011 15:22

Wonder if it's too early for a collective MN 'Pussssssshhhhhhhhh'?

Grin

Hope it's going ok x

Hey! Just taking the opportunity between contractions (oh yes) to update you a bit.

Last night contractions started in earnest. Phew did I know it! I had a sleeping tablet at 10pm but by 12pm was being kept awake by cramping so was given a shot of pethadine, which was just dreamy Smile and another shot later on. I woke up this morning off my head Grin - couldn't even speak properly. DP found it very funny.

During the night the doctor checked my cervix. I'd been given the Cervidil pessary again to see if it helped. Well, despite the pain and discomfort (I am so fed up of people fiddling around up there. Needs must and all but...) the doctor told us I was 1.7cm dilated! I felt so happy! It's not much but it is something and it gave me a huge boost.

This morning I'm feeling really positive again and excited too. We've still a long way to go but the contractions are showing up on the monitor (they hadn't been before which was frustrating and I felt like big girls blouse making a fuss) and are regular now. It looks like my body is taking over a bit. I'm back on the tablet but the contractions feel less intense and easier to manage than they did last night when I was shaking like crazy.

After this dose I might be given the IV pitosin or the doc might allow my body to do its thing for a bit. I do hope so.

So that's where we are. I've had two more contractions while writing this and am now going to have a little doze Smile.

Not too long now Mumsnetters! Wine

PS Mr Southsearocks is guessing 4lb 10, boy, but says he's happy either way.

Also, I do read all your posts, they make me laugh and feel great, so post away (thanks for being concerned though Smile) Just sorry I can't say hello in a more personal way.

DP has coffee and pretzel from Super Nurse Carol Envy

Woot!! News!!

Dear Southsea's cervix:

Please keep dilating nicely, Pebble would like to come out... I promise, it won't hurt much a bit!

Love, all Pebble's Aunties

Blacksand · 11/02/2011 15:54

Grin & Wine to you too Southsea.....sounds like you are doing brilliantly and are in very good (if a little probing) hands.

amidaiwish · 11/02/2011 15:55

YAY!!! will check back again before bed!

jasmine51 · 11/02/2011 15:56

Hey Southsea - can we all be godmothers?

Keep dilating xx

mathanxiety · 11/02/2011 16:03

Good news. Maybe today then! Tomorrow at the latest anyway.

Have you had an epidural needle put in? You don't have to use it but they can only put it in before a certain point and after that you've missed the boat.

onoffon · 11/02/2011 16:04

So glad to hear you're doing well!

Looking forward to the next update Grin

diddl · 11/02/2011 16:04

Just like to say hope it all goes OK.

(have just read all 34 pages of other thread & 24 of this)

Don´t know if you´re still thinking of Jemima/Phineas, but I think both are great.

I also didn´t make it to any classes as first was born before I was due to attend any & with 2nd I didn´t have time!

deemented · 11/02/2011 16:05

Ohh... good luck!
