Hi to all, glad to see your in fine spirits, so where's everyone elses TP measurements?? have only seen two others J&BM what are yours, seeing as they'll be your last (hopefully)

Cadmum · 11/10/2005 21:08

Still just shy of 8 but my bump looks way bigger and I look preggers even to strangers.

Hello all! Am having a housework day. All three bathrooms and kitchen are now spotless. Now if I could only find the floor throughout the rest of the house...

I am feeling blue about DH's choatic life and how little he thinks about how it affects us. (Strictly my perspective as I am sure that he thinks that he only thinks of us.)
He is flying into Ottawa at 10:20 pm on Monday evening because he has been asked to testify in front of a senate committee on Tuesday (a real honor) and to present a paper at a conference in Kingston on Wednesday. Kingston is 187 Km from here and he was thinking that we should accompany him there on Tuesday evening (we don't own a vehicle but we do have one rented at the moment until the 20th). I have attended academic conferences with him in the past and he attends every single panel and is stressed about every second that he spends away even at coffee break (in case he misses something). His flight departs Ottawa on Thursday morning at 6:30 in the morning so we would have to drive back from Kingston on the Wednesday evening.

From his perspective, this should be seen as a 'bonus' to spend extra time with daddy but his children are 8, 6, and 3 and they have not seen much of him for the last 5 months! From my perspective it is a nightmare and I am really upset. Am I being a hormonal cow and should I just try to enjoy the limited time we might have together?

Cadmum · 11/10/2005 21:09

Frizbe: Looking forward to hearing all about your scan!

romilly · 11/10/2005 22:17

cadmum: sorry i havent got time for a long post, but just wanted to say you are not in any way being a hormonal cow. i think you feeling upset is entirely legitimate. i have a lot of friends whose husbands have equally demanding careers, and it is so hard on the wife - but also i have a number of friends whose husbands have not got the sort of career they feel they should and that seems to be equally bad, for entirely different reasons. wish i could say something helpful, which i cant, but i honestly do sympathize.

dramaqueen72 · 12/10/2005 00:36

tp tuesday was 10.5 squares. am size of house boat now. actually my bump is very big, growing out of maternity clothes!!!! scareeeeeeeeeey
cadmum, no, actually that trip sounds like a nightmare with the children in tow! what does dh say when you ask what the children should do exactly whilst daddy is so busy?? gosh it sounds stressful and rushed to me. but then, am also hormonal cow so..............
rom sorry youre still sick, bless you.
friz, hope scan goes well and beanie co-operates (mine always hide from scanner!)

Frizbe · 12/10/2005 10:58

thanks guys, will post later on today! scan is at 1.45.
Cadmum, your not being irrational at all, its a bloomin long way to trek with 3 small kids in tow and very easy for dh to say, am I guessing he's travelling seperatley? with out the 'are we there yet brigade'

george32 · 12/10/2005 11:04

Friz, good luck with your scan.

Cadmum, sounds like a pretty miserable time for all except your DH. Do the kids want to go?

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/10/2005 11:05

i think friz is having a boy

munz · 12/10/2005 13:30

think i've caught up - u girls sure do natter! lol.

rom - it would be nice for a girl - but I think u're on for a boy, and cads/friz are having girls. when is your scan?

I know our theory is morbid - no idea where it origionated from - my cousins g/f is due on 28th feb as well so we might yet have one of each! tbh I thought i was having a boy until about 8 weeks when we picked hte name pheobe - and I absolutly love it - then the whole cravings/sickness etc and chatting to mum i've changed to girl - can't wait till next week to find out.

yingers - 37 weeks r u really not long then have u picked any names or anything yet? - so it's u and JM then to pop first!

DQ - lol@ socks - respect at the 10.5 squares - I must be about 9 the amount i've eaten today. my weakness is bottles and baby grows - don't ask why! - in fact any clothes! lol. - ooh and blankets - got a thing for blankets.

nemo - did u decide on the sofa's in the end?

do we know what everyone's having then/names etc? - maybe we should do a quick sumemry - how about dyz anyone heard from her yet?

Nemo666 · 12/10/2005 13:41

munz we havent had chance to go and have a look yet at sofas...just time flying past..lol

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/10/2005 15:03

Cadmum and Rom.... can you guess my dates too please?! pebbles2005

OP posts:
yingers74 · 12/10/2005 15:06

My parents are back on monday so am happy to go into labour anytime from there. Am pretty sure JAB will pop before me! Go girl!
