I will need to buy a new birthing ball because my little people were tossing mine about in the basement and it popped on a nail in the wall! At the time I was pleased that it popped the ball before it hurt someone but now I wish I still had the ball. (and kids heal!)

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 01:36

LOL at the thought of your DH landing on his arse in the delivery room!

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 01:37

Kelli: How long was your labour with dd (sorry if I have already asked...)

I have had a long, rough first 16 weeks of pregnancy. My humour is getting darker... Sorry, I don?t really mean it obviously!

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 01:43

I am playing home-schooling-single-parent whilst DH is on 180 day contract in New York city.

Yes, I did have horrible all day sickness and insane bouts of exhaustion that would lead to crying jags. (Thankfully NOT in front of the children)

kelli22 · 29/09/2005 01:51

labour with dd was 12hrs 40mins, thought this one would be quicker but doesnt look like it, am i too soft letting my dp fall asleep? im ok just the pains are still 6 mins apart but getting stronger but not closer, i thnk i might have to go in for gas n air if they dont sort themselves out soon grrrr ill try some more paracetmol for now.......im making a cd for in the delivery room...gives me something to do.

cadsmum - i dont envy you having to do home schooling, you know what im like just with homework....

lmao at ur dh lockets, thanks 4 cheering me up

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 02:09

Sorry Kelli... I had such an easy time with my last 2... BUT I never had the typical labour pains that get closer together and stronger... I would never have made it to the hospital with DS2 and I barely made it for DD and only because the labour unit insisted that I come in to confirm that my waters had gone and that DD was still fine...

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 02:11

I would try more paracetamol and then another bath. I found the water both soothing and good for speeding things along. I like the idea of making a CD for the hospital. What are you including?

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 02:12

Wake your DP if you are worried, scared or in too much pain. Do you need to ring your sister or friend to come round to be with DD? How much notice will they need? How far away is your mum?

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 02:14

I have left you with a game of 20 questions haven?t I?

I wil be back shortly after I re-settle DS2 into bed...

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 29/09/2005 02:27

any of you still here?

just had the worst emotional outburst at DH (waking him up) and he is now in the kitchen making me a hot chocolate to try and calm me down!

kelli22 · 29/09/2005 02:31

lol cadsmum gives me summat to do, dd has already gone to stay at dp's mums, my mum will meet us at hospital, i did suggest to dp that she came here so he could have a rest but he said no ill stay awake but he looks so knackered n im doing ok so i said have a sleep if u want its not like much is happening at the mo, really cant be bothered with another bath i've had 3 n theyre not helping just a pain having to keep getting dressed (well underwear n nightie) im gonna give it til 3 n then ring the hospital again, i last rang them at 10pm but the contractions are not playing the game at all now rangeing from 3-12 mins n getting stronger, longest one has been 36 seconds, my waters havent gone yet either - but they didnt with dd either.

As for the CD anything n everything, jamie cullum, norah jones, coldplay, james blunt, muse, green day, alanis morrisette, radiohead, david grey, ash, the verve - literally loads, well the rate its going i could be there some time lol, mostly chilled stuff dont wanna scare the poor child, tho there is a touch of guns n roses thrown in.........

kelli22 · 29/09/2005 02:32

awww whats goin on JABM? are u ok now?

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 29/09/2005 02:33

yeah im ok..... not really sure whats going on - hormones are everywhere!

Really pleased things are moving for you at last.... I would get to that hospital if i were you!!!

kelli22 · 29/09/2005 02:37

i know but they said not to and to stay at home as long as i could........would feel silly going in and just sitting there 4 hours, theres no MN in hosp y kno and the more sleep my dp gets the better he really doesnt cope with tiredness well. ill wake him when i ring the hospital. im still bouncing on my ball........

Glad your feeling a bit better- bloody hormones ey!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 29/09/2005 02:38

tell me about it hun..... well, keep us posted with any news.

So excited now!

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 03:01

JandB: You are having a rough go lately... Hope you don?t have much longer to wait. Although babies are not known for allowing parents to get much rest...

Kelli: You sound so organised! I am impressed with your plans. You are being very kind to your DP for letting him rest but I do know what you mean about him needing sleep and the last thing you need is for both of you to be completely exhausted.

Is your dd excited about the idea of a baby sister (I am right that you know its a girl, aren?t I?)

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 03:02

I need to go and grab a sweater and make some hot chocolate and then I will be back to be your long distance doula!

HuggyBear · 29/09/2005 03:13

Good luck Kelli!!!

and hang in there jess (( jess ))

xxxxxxxx

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 03:40

Wishing you all the best Kelli. I am off to bed and hoping that you are off to the hospital shortly.

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 05:04

I am hoping that the reason you haven?t posted again is because you are in hospital delivering your little one. Looking forward to the news.

kelli22 · 29/09/2005 06:13

i wish i had cadsmum, i went to bed cause the contractions werent getting any closer to i tried to get some sleep - which i managed (suprisingly) and i've just got up im bouncing on the ball again to get me started again (dp isnt going to be impressed if she doesnt come today as he will have to use a holiday day today and we dont want to waste them) i did call the hospital before i went to sleep to ask if i could go in for monitoring so id at least know how far dilated i was etc but they said no..... im really disapointed cause tho theyre werent getting really regular they were getting me somewhere cant help thinking i shouldnt have gone to sleep - oh well fingers crossed it will all kick off again soon!
