oh cyteen, well done you you really are inspiring me to sort out the top garden nextyear as soon as I have a minute tofart Shall be picking your brains oneday about it all soon

cyteen · 19/06/2010 20:10

Heh, you won't get much out of them, except wine maybe I know precisely fuck all about gardening, but have found success by following my more experienced friends' lead (i.e. just sticking stuff in the ground and hoping it comes up).

The place is still rife with potatoes. I don't think a single inch has ever been spudless on our plot, there are rogues sprouting everywhere.

P.S. The basil is supermarket plant that I cunningly split and repotted - tis the only one I've ever been able to keep alive Bay tree was present from SIL. I didn't even know you could use the leaves in the same way as shop-bought until I asked last week

lordy VG, don't worry - am sure you're all sick of the sight of it although Red has fixed it again bless her

Evening

Nice lie in (I suppose DH ought to have one tomorrow ), trip out to village fete and curry munched. Pretty lazy Saturday . DD2 still teething and DD1 eating anything not nailed down

Today she had rice krispies, boiled egg & toast, banana, salmon salad pitta bread with tomatoes & chickpeas, plum, 99 ice cream cone, green thai curry & rice (about 1/2 adult portion), jelly pot + fromage frais pot, 3 apricots, 2 breadsticks and a slice of toast & jam. Seriously it's like the bloody hungry caterpillar . Can anyone tell me this is ok for a 3.5 yr old as the only threads i seem to read are that a tablespoon of food per year is fine per mealtime

miamla bless DH and his spacial crapacity [not a word but i like it LOL]. We too have that car and our boot fills with water too. Luckily we have the most outsized patio for size of garden so good use here

cyteen sounds just wonderful to be eating all your food. V of the strawberries, ours are not ripe yet

Hope LOTI is having a wonderful time tonight as Daisy Duke - keep an eye on FB ladies for drunk fab pics

oops glad work went ok and your parents enjoyed it

TS, sorry but I did PMSL at 'dd1 being a bit of a snot this morning' and then no further mention . Hope things have improved?

dizzydixies · 19/06/2010 21:16

Crispy, your DD is always active and on the go and will no doubt be shooting up in front of your eyes - there is nothing on that list that is bad for her in the slightest. L is going through a stage of not eating anything but sodding cocktail sausages/scrambled eggs or cake so well done your L for eating it all

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/06/2010 21:24

Oh bless you, thanks Dizz . Thinking about it she has been very active - walk with her pushchair & dolly this morning, then bouncing on the bouncy castle x 2 and walking/running most of the way to and from the fete (c. 1 mile each way) plus climbing over the fire engine etc. I may actually measure her height/weight and stick in her red book just to keep track

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/06/2010 21:25

My poor deprived daughters rarely see a cake - if i don't like something it doesn't get bought

dizzydixies · 19/06/2010 21:26

ask TS, she'll have it written down somewhere

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/06/2010 21:29

written what down

cyteen · 19/06/2010 21:29

Crisp that sounds like a fairly typical day for my DS so I wouldn't worry about it too much! She is no doubt growing like blazes, and she seemed like a normal very active small person when we met

Interesting re. DD2's teeth - DS needed Calpol last night for the first time in ages, after much gnashing on his dummy and wailing. It must be molars [sage]

Btw, you might be glad to know that my nails were filthy this pm

The fact that J can now reach the fruitbowl means that a normal week's fruit shop lasts about a day He's obsessed!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 19/06/2010 21:32

heights/weights/stats - tis her thing!

cyteen, we've had to move our stuff out of reach as D is just going through it. I only wish her attention span lasted till the end of the apple/banana etc etc Poor J and his teeth

MrsMiamla · 19/06/2010 21:34

vg et al, thanks for reassurance re his purchases! problem is that i've tried DS in one of the cars every time we've come across one, and he's not liked it. Perhaps he'll change his mind if its his own!

crisp well done L for her food consumption! sounds fine to me. i'm loving 'crapacity'!

cyteen wow! i'm v v impressed! also liking your cunning technique of sticking things in the ground and hoping for the best!

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/06/2010 21:41

Oh, get you now Dizz

cyteen we are cutting canines here. I have stupidly slow teethers. DD1 had her first tooth at 13 months . Glad to hear of grubby nails, much more Babs stylee

Re fruit, DD2 asks for 'applenana' and when presented with one or the other takes one bite and fecks off

miamla normally children LOVE stuff in shops/at friends/playgroups etc, then you buy it and they ignore it. I reckon DS will be like that in reverse

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/06/2010 21:46

Crispy - I have someone who eats like that but she is 21 months younger than yours - she had banana, toast, a tomato, 8 mini weetabix, large cup of milk then bacon roll at 11 with strawberries and smoothie, lunch was ham/tomato/cucumber/ avocado salad fruit salad, 3 crackers and more milk at 4 then 2 eggs scrambled eggs and a portion of leftover shepherds pie for supper, crackers and milk before bed at 7.30. But she too hasn't stopped all day and finally fell into bed having been napless all day. MIL also gave DD her first piece of cake today - she took a mouthful and spat it out saying 'too crumbly!' in a horrified voice.

Dizzy - blog looks great now.

Cyteen - great gardening - we have our first mangetout ready and baby carrots.

Miamla - DD1 played with one of those cars at the hospital the other day and loved it - she put teddies in the boot and made another drive them about

hotterpotter · 19/06/2010 21:48

Just finished painting for the night dining room looking less yellow but also less scribbled on / knocked about, god I am ashamed how rough it looked Plus I have weedkillered all the drive weeds and pulled the massive nettle out of the front border, swept the drive and tidied up the cotoneaster. Would look good apart from my sister's doughnut trailer rusting away in front of the garage where it has been for two years . Maybe a good bargaining tool with potential buyers???

off now to crash on the sofa with wine and Doctor Who , see y'all later

hotterpotter · 19/06/2010 23:35

Oh sorry I made you all run away

Anyway Doctor Who was VERY good but the rest of telly is shite so bed time now

TwilightSurfer · 20/06/2010 02:25

well the lifeguards at our pool have figured out reese. she goes and stands in front of the snack window until someone appears then smiles waiting for someone to hand her something to eat. we've only ever purchased flav-or-ice sticks soooooooo today the lifeguard, after we'd already purchased and consumed some flav-or-ice, gave her an ice cube. she was happy as a lark and went on her way as if she'd won a prize.

miamla that boot story was way too funny.

sazzles dd1 straightened out but then her father took over the role of snot.

very tired...going to bed....see everyone in a few hours.

luckoftheirish · 20/06/2010 06:54

CrispyTheCrisp · 20/06/2010 07:45

Oh bless you LOTI, partying and getting up at 6am just isn't how it used to be is it? . GLad you got to have a good dance and strut your stuff on your tiny pins

Well done hots on the clearance, I hope you can carry on today and keep the momentum going. DH has promised to clear a big patch of nettles and ebay a load of stuff so fingers x'd he actually does

Loving the ice cube trick TS, very cunning

Fathers day gifts presented and two cards a piece. DH in bed with his cuppa and a book and the DD's and i are watching Snow White

dizzydixies · 20/06/2010 08:15

DH's present will be me dealing with the girls this morning again I'm not quite sure when I'm pencilled in for a sleep but considering he is night shift for the next two night and then off to Belfast it won't be any time soon at least I got until 7.20, they're all on good form and DD1 happy with her £1 for her tooth.

girls want to make DH a cake so I supposed I'd better go and get on with that.

glad you enjoyed the party LOTI - can you not sneak back off to bed for a snooze and leave the girls with DH when he surfaces? And I wouldn't worry about arsey BIL, he won't be your problem anymore soon enough

MrsMiamla · 20/06/2010 08:23

morning,

loti, can you put tv/dvd on to give yourself a few mins to snooze on the sofa? or will your guests watch them both for half an hour (once they're up)?

hiya crisp, DH still asleep here. I was amazed, he actually offered to get up with DS this morning if it was after 6 but i was awake anyway so thought i'd be nice (worry not, i'll make sure i claim my brownie points later )

DS is sooo cuddly this morning. We've got a new game where he pretends to be my teddy bear and i get the best cuddle in the world! An addition to the game this morning was that apparently teddy bears can tickle people as well

oooh oooh and i'm so proud of my little artist...he's drawn his daddy a duck for father's day!!!! seriously! as he was drawing it, he made quacking noises!! AND it actaully looks like a duck! Anyhow, i've scanned it, blown it up, written 'quack quack' underneath and put it in a frame! can't wait to give it to DH I'm sure there will be a fb photo of it later!

dizzydixies · 20/06/2010 08:24

good Lord Miamla, I wouldn't know where to start with a duck never mind DD2 or D - well done T!
