Oops, the girls are the same as me and don't have accents - tis just you lot south of the border that talk funny DH has all but lost his Norn Irn accent which is ok as tis the Souther Irn accent that I adore

Sazz - weekend sounds FAB, well done you. How is DH's leg healing up btw?

Oops, don't worry about P being jealous of E - she'll just have realised that she's here to stay and not just a passing visit

oh and as for seeing me drunk I'm certainly not partial to a libation in this good god fearing home

hotterpotter · 04/07/2010 21:37

Oh Miamla DS lies about trumps too

I vote we all get together SOON and get pissed

hotterpotter · 04/07/2010 21:40

Re accents, I don't think DH or I have particularly strong accents although we do say grass and bath properly, ie not barth like some of you weirdos , DD has quite a posh accent but DS is full-on Yorkshire Sazzes DD1 is a fantastic chatterbox who is very well spoken apart from very occasionally she comes out with a word that is pure Gloucestershire

dizzydixies · 04/07/2010 21:43

your right Hots, she does say cheese a lot

CrispyTheCrisp · 04/07/2010 21:43

DH's leg much better thanks. He now like to go round showing people his scar

dizzydixies · 04/07/2010 21:44

oh and may I jump in with the fact that Poppy is BEAUTIFULLY spoken. Puts my weegie banter and patter to shame

MrsMiamla · 04/07/2010 21:44

did we really have pimms?! I have no memory of that! Hmm, ok, so everyone at the sleep over has seen me pissed then!! Oh and everyone we skyped as well

TS and I'm guessing Sgt crispy may have partaken in the odd glass of sherry whilst on holiday with you too

pre-DH (obviously) my most amazing sex was with an american guy and it was mostly down to his accent.
Oh and when i had a trip to Southern Ireland, I spent most the week with jelly legs

CrispyTheCrisp · 04/07/2010 21:46

miamla i brought the Pimms, and yes, you did have some

oopsandbabycoconuts · 04/07/2010 21:46

Hots - some of it is blackmail. When it started I responded with 'Poopr P what is the matter, why are you sad?' which got her immediate attention. Now she uses it when i say no, take too long, refuse to turn on the telly etc, so I say 'It's okay to feel sad sometimes when you can have what you want.' and leave it at that but now she responds with 'oh no, watta matter P, why you so sad?' and runs to find DH The I'm hurt is currently reserved for real hurts.

Sorry for disjointed typing DD2 feeding on and off and has a tendancy to vacuum seal herself to my boob if I don't squish it out the way which leaves me temporarily handless!

MrsMiamla · 04/07/2010 21:47

oi hots!!! who you calling a weirdo??
DH was brought up a yorkshire lad and his accent is getting more and more southern, the longer he spends with me! I caught him saying 'bath' properly the other day

oopsandbabycoconuts · 04/07/2010 21:48

I will be the one with the camera at the next pissup Aug08 sleep over

oopsandbabycoconuts · 04/07/2010 21:50

I have a slight accent I think? but it gets very strong when I am at home and talking afrikaans to DD or I'm with my folks.

CrispyTheCrisp · 04/07/2010 21:51

hots you are so right, i am turning from Surrey to West Country Bumpkin and I can't help myself

hotterpotter · 04/07/2010 21:55

I didn't know your DH was a Yorkshire lad Miamla, poor lucky you

Bizarrely DD says carstle, no idea where she gets it from as they are positively proletarian at nursery LOL at cheese Sazz , but the thing she said which tickled me was mooosic!

MrsMiamla · 04/07/2010 21:55

oops DS started having a fake limp if he fell over. We just ignored him(unless he was obviously hurt), especially he was wanting the 'uninjured' foot kissed better
He seems to only seek sympathy now if he really needs it so maybe a bit of ignoring would work with P?

crisp hmm, i do have a vague recollection of that now!

MrsMiamla · 04/07/2010 21:56

hots, he's a full-bloodied welshman but has never lived there so his comedy accent is mostly from Yorks

CrispyTheCrisp · 04/07/2010 22:02

Off to bed for me. Night all

hotterpotter · 04/07/2010 22:07

Night you deep fried sliver of potato

Watch out Miamla or I'll 'ave ya actually I left Yorkshire aged 2 and didn't come back until I was 21 (apart from 2 years in Pontefract) so apart from flat vowels I don't really have much of an accent and --will- beat up anyone who disagrees

oopsandbabycoconuts · 04/07/2010 22:08

Night Cfispy.

And night from me too, DD2 finally finished feeding and is now so fast asleep I can take her upstairs, change her nappy and clothes and she will still be sleeping

cyteen · 04/07/2010 22:10

Accents: imagine a female version of Bob Hoskins' voice and you have something close to mine

Off to bed, night all

OP posts:
MrsMiamla · 04/07/2010 22:13

hmm, i suspect given that i'm working tomorrow that i should probably follow you all (not literally!) to bed

esp since i've got ironing to do before i go up!

night all

hotterpotter · 04/07/2010 22:15

Good night all you lightweights lovely girls

dizzydixies · 04/07/2010 22:23

night girls, I've got to have DD1 at Gleneagles tomorrow for 11am so I shouldn't be here either

RedLentil · 04/07/2010 23:55

Erm. Any ideas on how to help a small boy with the same bug I had who can't keep calpol down? He's been asleep most of the day but is getting very sad and tired now.

TwilightSurfer · 05/07/2010 00:08

do you have a medicine syringe? i've been known to squeeze meds in the kid's mouth while sleeping. if you do it very slowly it's like they are dream the event and slurp it without thought. if it doesn't work it makes a real mess on their pillow though. sorry, that's the best i've got red.
