Wish I hadn't looked now! Laptop & blackberry offer is £40pcm =£940 over 24m. Can buy a laptop and PAYG blackberry for £500. I hardly ever make calls, send a few texts a day. Have had my current mobile about 5yrs so totally not bovvered about upgrading in 2yrs time. So am thinking it's not worth getting a phone just to get a laptop but we don't have £500. Almost wish I had a credit card...

My brother is now telling me what my dad has been up to thats a shed load of money DBrother is a computer expert and states that when buying a laptop you should buy one by someone who makes laptops e.g HP - I saw one on sale in Tesco the other day so will check and see how much it was.

OOh and Poppy has a wee dinky notebook thingy, could you mange one of those? I know I need a bigger screen but its really cute??

VG in answer to your question - not sure. We signed new lease for 2 years in April so thinking we will probably see that through. I would like DS to actually be able to remember living here IYSWIM. DH got asked about 'mobility' last week when his big boss was around. He was basically offered a fairly 'plum' role in Mumbai but turned that down as having been there a bit recently he can't see me agreeing to live there! The other options are Tokyo - no. Hong Kong - possible but I suffered from dreadful hayfever/pollution fever when I was there and that was pre DS so not sure. London - well we would hope to come back at some point! New York - yes or Sydney - also yes.

DS managed to sleep through the loudest thunderstorm last night. DH and I were both wide awake at about 4am this morning expecting any minute to be summoned by "Mummy, I hear thunder......' 'no scared'. am amazed as we have some pretty violent storms but this was something else.

LOTI - to the docs with you things like that do not get better on their own but get worse and kidneys problems are not what you need to add to your list!

I have wonderful girls!! DD1 selpt until 7 without a peep and DD2 went to sleep at 9.30 and woke at 4 for a feed then up at 7. DH on the other hand is being a grumpy stroppy monster over the lack of bedroom action at the moment - he will just have to sulk a while!

Thanks for advice Dizzy, am still not quite getting the notebook concept, am thinking is just an oversized Blackberry? This morning's idea is that I just get myself a £20pcm Blackberry contract with no freebies, then DH can take the laptop and work on his music mixing.

Morning all.
S in vile form again today every toy he picks up he whinges at, throws on the floor and has a strop within about 30 seconds of picking it up.
Even if there's no toy involved, there's still constant whinging. He's just been biting mouthfuls of pear then spitting it into my hand (lovely) which has kept him almost happy for about minutes. AH well, can only assume it's the damn eye teeth still giving him gyp.

singa so of your thunderstorms. We used to get some whoppers in SA. I miss them.

singa why not Tokyo? Too crowded? It's somewhere I'd love to visit...

loti go to the doctor's, it takes 10 minutes and will prevent you developing a crippling pain and fever combo if your infection fails to clear up on its own. I speak from experience.

Cyteen yes something like that. I've never been and would love to visit (DH is going at the end of the month). Have heard it is one of the worst places for kids though so that's the main reason.

Loti go to the doctor's kidney infections are horrible. I too speak from experience. Some cranberry juice might be a good thing too.

QoD at the moment you can have them as DS seems to have redeveloped his fear of them so clings to me everytime there is a thunder clap (or something that sounds like one)

Ok ok ladies I took your advice and went to the docs. I do have a kidney infection so now dosing up on anti biotics and painkillers. Was told to rest? with two manic kids I think not

qod dd2 is also very stroppy unfortunately nothing to do with teeth just the approaching terrible 2's!!

stroppy D here too which was of no use when I was trying to get myself bumped up the scan que by taking a cancellation DD2's last day of playgroup and of course it has started raining today - no great shock there

Springapore - re NY or Oz, DH and I were dreaming when we were in NY that we would live there for a short while at some point. Love a good thunderstorm too!

Invites I ordered for DD1's birthday party on Sat haven't turned up I only had to invite 5 girls, two of whom are going on holiday tomorrow so wouldn't be there but its all about the politics isn't it?? At least the 3 who ARE coming have a rough idea of what's happening. Place your bets ladies on when then will arrive. My money is on Sat as 12pm
