New thread for us to chat about our little jekyll & hydes...

Danny is currently stood next to me rearranging my DVD collection - I will be doing a work out to charlie & lola tonight apparently, while DS1 will be watching Billy Blanks Taebo with his pre-bedtime cup of milk and DH's history docu is hiding out with Diego in the city of lost toys...

Think we were both left out of the invite if there is mos Grin

Sorry, i've been rotten lately, just nothing much interesting to post so i read and lurk but don't post as often as usual Smile

mumoverseas · 31/08/2010 20:43

oh how rude of them.
How is the weather over there now? We've had a really crap summer and i've been stuck inside with the kids a lot and as soon as DH gets back its lovely and sunny! Actually had a nice afternoon out at the local 'maize maze' today.

H's speech is progressing. As well as mummy, daddy, arse (DD1) and ace (DD2) he can now say mine which took us all by suprise a few nights ago when he suddenly started screaming it when DD2 was taking something from him.

dinkystinky · 31/08/2010 20:47

I'm not meeting up either MoS. Just been busy flat hunting still with little joy. Gah.

Danny also says mine - its very funny. He yells My My My at the top of his voice. He's got it from DS1 who yells it when Danny grabs his stuff. Grin

Hello everyone.
Sorry for lack of attendance here, had a busy few days.

jacob had his tonsils and adenoids removed today.
It went really well, he has been very good. He is eating and drinking fine. He's a bit whingy but that's fine, but he really has done brilliantly today.
We were supposed to stay in over night, but I felt he would be more at ease at home, so I asked to speak to his consultant (who is really really nice) and he said that he would be happy for me to take Jacob home.
Jacob does have an obstruction in his airways and that has caused some concern with them, but as he has been fine all day, they were happy to leave the final decision with me.

SummerRain · 01/09/2010 19:34

congrats to Jacob SM.... hope he's feeling better soon and yippee to no more tonsillitis Grin

Get some rest, you must be exhausted worrying about him

SilveryMoon · 01/09/2010 19:57

Yes, I am pretty wrecked.
My dad came over yesterday evening to stay over so he'd be here in the morning with Luke, but we ended up buying a box of wine, drinking all 3 litres last night and didn't get to bed until 2:30am, I was then up at 5:45am so we'd be ready to leave for the hospital at 6:30

dinkystinky · 01/09/2010 20:43

Glad the op went smoothly SM and hope he recuperates well. And glad you had a nice consultant who was v reasonable about letting you bring Jacob home. Hope you get a good night's rest tonight.

OP posts:
SilveryMoon · 01/09/2010 20:48

Thanks dinky The consultant has about 4/5 kids so know's what it's like!
He's been asleep on the sofa for an hour so I'm going to dose him up and put him in my bed, keeping him there tonight just to keep a close eye on him

katieblirdsnest · 01/09/2010 23:15

So glad it went well today sm. What a brave boy. Spoil him rotten tomorrow and take it easy if you can.

littlesez · 02/09/2010 21:17

Really dinky? That's great news Grin

dinkystinky · 03/09/2010 08:56

Good grief - my ability to type in english appears to have disappeared along with my will to live due to flat hunting hell. Apologies for last post and congrats to SM on deciphering it - meant to say that Last night I discovered Ms Lucy has a thread in the conception section saying she's had 3 bfps...

mumoverseas · 04/09/2010 17:10

SM glad the operation went ok and hope the little man is recovering well.

msLucy congrats by the sounds of it Grin

DH driving me mad at the moment (hence me not being around much) He really does have a very short fuse and mine isn't that much longer Sad

dinkystinky · 04/09/2010 17:57

MoS - take a deep breath and arrange some you time while DH is around to look after the kids. Maybe a nice massage or haircut? Guarantee will have you feeling happier about DH being about despite the short fuse...

Have found somewhere to live (touch wood) - isnt our ideal place as is second floor flat (and split level at that) and DH and I will take the small bedroom so DS1 and Danny can share - but I figure its just for around 6 months hopefully (if all goes to plan on the build) so hey ho. Signing lease next week with any luck. Now need to get sorting and flogging stuff from the house before we move. Oh well, at least it keeps me busy and out of trouble.

Had nice day with DH and the boys today - went down to the southbank for the Brazil festival that's on. DS1 and Danny had great fun running in and out of the fountains outside the festival hall (fortunately went prepared) and running/scootering around the southbank and had a lovely lunch with my boys so all in all a good day. This evening, once the boys are asleep, will be dedicated to sorting through our downstairs cupboards - with a french martini in hand to numb the tedium. Grin

Hope everyone is off being far too busy having a good time in the sun to post

Lol. I'm here, I'm checking in lots but just don't have much to say! Shock

Jacob is recovering well and so far we only hit bad spots during the night when I am not on top of the meds due to being asleep, but it is manageable and he soon calms down.
Luke has been in a good mood the past 2 days, is so nice to see him laugh and smile instead of just cry all the time.
Dp's back to work on tuesday which will be nice.
That's it really. how boring.

Btw dinks, well done for finding a flat. 6 months will fly by and getting up and down stairs with the kids/shopping etc etc isn't too bad

SummerRain · 06/09/2010 11:43

I'm here too... just don't have much of interest going on in rl so feel a bit daft posting Grin

It was a year ago yesterday that dd broke her leg.... and we spent the day at the same birthday party she did it at! She came home in one piece, although A and ds1 both managed to injure themselves Hmm Minorly thank god, a splinter and a bumped head. It's strange, it feels like and eternity ago she broke her leg.

Was lashing here this morning so i drove them to school (it's about 300m from our front door to the school gates) to avoid them having to sit in wet clothes all day but it turned out to be a wasted effort as ds1 fell into a huge puddle in the yard and rolled around in it until i ran over and dragged him out so he's soaked to the skin now [daft child]

dinkystinky · 06/09/2010 14:48

Hi SM and Summerrain (V apt name for you as is pissing down outside today) - glad J is recovering well and L is being an angel and that you managed to leave the birthday party with only minor injuries to your kids SR Grin

Took DS1 to his school to meet his reception teacher today. She seems really lovely and he really enjoyed wandering around and looking at all the toys - figners crossed he enjoys it there. Sadly we'll be moving house at the end of his first week of school - so lots of upheaval for a small child in one week - but cant work it any other way. Ho hum. Hopefully he'll be too knackered from full days at school to notice/care Wink And thanks for the reassurance re stairs SM - Danny is going through a particularly trying climbing up the stairs and trying to make like a lemming phase. Is exhausting trying to catch the tinker before he hits the stairs so will definitely be investing in a stairgate for the rented flat.

I've been lurking for the last couple of weeks - sorry! So busy, no time to post. I have been back and forth to London sorting out a tenant for my flat (doing the opposite of you Dinky!). Last tenants left a mess so spent my precious child free days have been spent dealing with it all. All sorted now and new tenant seems nice so fingers crossed he'll be reliable.

SM - good to hear that J is recovering well from his little op.

All fine here - I have an exhibition of my work coming up so very busy trying to finish things. I think I promised too much as I seem to have loads to do and only a few days to do it in.... DS was back at pre-school today though so at least there has been a slight reprieve in the non stop sibling fighting.

Hope everyone is ok?

Calico1 · 07/09/2010 08:49

Grrrr - washing machine has packed up. Mysterious clunking when the drum turns. My guess it is the assorted contents of DS's pockets in there somewhere......
