Apologies for rubbish title, couldn't think of anything - mind is totally riddled by hormones...!

She says by text that she's feeling quite overwhelmed and veering between elation and flat terror! Sends all her love.

I'm cracking open a bottle in her honour

notjustanumber · 20/06/2010 20:11

Congratulations Beans ! I am dead chuffed and will open a bottle in Prudences honour

SL I only have Fridays off so not sure how we can make that work ! I could try to swap days over at the nursery if we come up with a list of likely dates, I'm free most of July. Probably wont have the car so would catch the train to the Botanical Gardens or something.

Spot Hope your talk went well with your H. As you know I can empathise there. Whats surprising is that some of the things I held back from saying for years, even, because I thought they were hurtful for him to hear, would have been less destructive than the result of me not saying it, IYSWIM. It made me resentful and mean and I didnt realise it. Probably not relevant to you, but an eye opener for me. But then we have lived togther for so many years and I still think we dont understand eachother well at all, I suppose it is a fuly ongoing process.

Hello Trace, hope Ls spots are better, chicken pix is a complete bugger. Veggie. I cut my own hair on thursday night and made a better job of it this time, think it takes a bit of practice.

Good to see you MoM and good news about the jobs urbane. Hope everyone else is having cheerful weekends one way or another.

DS1 has suddenly grown into a right character. He took himself off into the back garden, posted the key through a window and then told us he was leaving home because, amongst other things "He didnt like Daddys sandals" and he wasnt coming home until "you two" stopped being silly, and even more funny, he took a bemused DS2 with him. It was hilarious, he wasnt being serious but I do wonder how these things come into his head.

I visited some friends on Friday for a night out, its so great being able to drive.

Hope you are itching a bit less now, LadyT.

LadyThompson · 20/06/2010 20:20

Posting on phone so will keep it snappy. So excited about new miniBeans! Prudence is lovely! Want to know weight, how Beans is but it is such lovely news. Hip hooray.

Avocadoes · 20/06/2010 20:38

Yay BEANS!!!!! Congratulations! I am so pleased you got your second little girl. Brilliant news. I too NEED details. When did contractions start? Did you get to Tommies in good time? Was the labour more or less intense than last time? What did Whizzer do when she first spied Pru? Ooooooh, I love a good birth story. In fact I am tempted to go and find the ante-natal thread when we all popped and read it back.

xxx

traceface · 20/06/2010 21:02

Aw Conratulations to the Beans Family Welcome to the world little Prudence. Beautiful! Am feeling all broody now

MomOrMum · 20/06/2010 21:28

I LOVE the name Prudence! Congrats Beans!

Avocadoes · 20/06/2010 21:32

Going back to read our labour story filled december 2008 thread was a bad plan. I am now UBER broody.

And NJAN I love the sound of your DS running away because he objects to your taste in shoes. Gorgeous.

Rubena · 20/06/2010 21:43

Hello, just popping on quickly to wish beans a congrats!!! 2nd half of trip improved dramatically, and mostly because ds's teeth stopped hurting. he was the worst i've ever seen him for the first 2 days of the trip and wouldn't even have milk at times. Then with him being car sick and no doubt hungry and over tired i'm surprised he was as good as he has been.
YAY to Beans!! Thanks Lady for the update, I just texted Beans to say congrats too - can't wait to hear all her details though and hopefully meet little P soon!
I have caught up but can't remember half of it. lady thanks for the offer of hotel research. We very nearly did stay in Bilbao tonight but then decided to come to santander for the last night as it is handy to the ferry and want to make sure ds gets a good sleep tonight. at the Sudocreme fiasco!
Spot, yeah in the remote part we were where the race was there was nada to do, but I was full time settling ds constantly so i guess it was lucky.
Vaggie, yeah that's what dh said too (about them mostly being on Sundays) but he just NEVER checks anything properly and always assumes and it really pissed me off especially as ds was being grumpy and miserable and dh also wanted to be ferried to and from the race.
We ended up getting out of our remote hotel and finding one 10 mins from the race but I had to take him in at 0530 am and fight my way through 10,000 cyclists in their cars then come back and get him later. had a nap in the middle of the day with ds and ds fell off the bed while we both were asleep straight onto the hard wood floor and got a fat lip dh finished in 6hrs 59 but has just found out he got place d just over 500th so although pleased he wanted to get under that mark - not bad out of 10,000 if you ask me, but he needs to stop drinking beer especially since we didn't pass a bar on the ferry he didn't stop at!
Anyway, we just had a lovely paella and ds was an angel today and yesterday and his teeth have improved a great deal. he even had some proper Spanish cusiene and loved it!
We are back on the ferry tomorrow (over night) and then home Tues night.
Sybs would love too meet up at some point with lady and whoever else?
Oh and I can probably do the 9th too but I can't remember who was meeting who and where?
Mom glad to hear you are ok and all went as well as can be expected. Hope you get sticky clackered very very soon.
Anyway, bye for now and chat soon!

katie3677 · 20/06/2010 21:50

Damn, I missed all the excitement. Congratulations Beans, looking forward to hearing all the gory details.

waitinggirl · 20/06/2010 21:57

yay, welcome to prudene! very excited - and i, too, love a good birth story (refraining from looking back at our dec 08 thread in case i end up bawling).

is there a cambridge meet up? would love to come up for it.

have in laws here. trying to control myself - they are INFURIATING.

urbanewarrior · 20/06/2010 22:59

yay for prudence. very pretty name and many many congratulations beans and mr beans. I was looking at DD this evening thinking that it's amazing that she could theoretically be a big sister - like whizz. Still seems like such a baby herself. But obviously not.

had loads more to say but will be back tomorrow. Have been laid up with asthma most of weekend and need to try and catch up with some sleep. Frickin pollen.

Veggiemummy · 20/06/2010 23:10

Hooray hooray hooray!!!!! Welcome to the world Pru. Is that her working title or is it definitely her name. I hope it is, I always feel happy when I say that name. My friends DD1 is a Prudence & it's just one of those lovely names.

I didn't know we could still read the old threads. Imagine if we could print them out. How long do they keep them?

Lady sorry about the itch. Meant to say don't get your consultant to prescribe something as it will be a private prescription & you'll have to pay, get your GP to sort you out.

Kiwi DH wants to know why your DH isn't on the podcasts? Is he being sent out to the back of beyond? Very sweet about the card. Poor thing it is hard for the menfolk being away, DH gets very sad when he's away for work and it's never that long.

We did have fathers day here today. DS2 made him a orange bow tie at school. The boys & I went shopping yesterday which was actually great fun. We got him
a nice Holland supporters shirt, a top for doing his weight lifting in, a new coffee thermos for the car & I made a printed out 4 vouchers for personal services! He was particularly pleased with the last present. I also made him fresh OJ and a healthy breakfast in bed, which DS2 proceeded to consume, as he did with my mothers day breaky.

I really should go to bed but Urbane, I love that DS1 loves the EL, my DS1 still & always will love the DLR.
Hello to Effie, Sybs, Mom & NJAN. Rubs well done to DH, it is dissapointing though if your close to a target but just miss out but 500 out of 10,000 is good. We are getting excited as Le Tour kicks just down the road in Rotterdam in under 2weeks hooray! And we'll be going to Paris to watch the final day.

Right bed, will get on more tomorrow.

KiwiPanda · 21/06/2010 06:26

Don't know any more details but Beans said that Whizzer has already called young Prudence "poo poo"... - said she'd be on to report in full details when she could x

JamInMyWellies · 21/06/2010 08:58

Crikey have missed all the action.

Massive congratulations to family Beans. Welcome to the world Prudence

Does anyone have Beans address would like to send a card. If so can you FB it to me.

Veggiemummy · 21/06/2010 09:45

I was thinking the same. I think Kiwi or Sybs have it.

KiwiPanda · 21/06/2010 09:53

I was just about to ask the same - alas! I did have her old one but they've moved now haven't they? And I don't have new one. I will text and ask though - I always feel a bit bad about pestering new mums (even if new for the second time round!) but I guess you can always ignore a text..??

Veggiemummy · 21/06/2010 10:00

I'm trying to settle a very excitable DS2 down to sleep but have been giggling about Urbane's DS1's fondness for his Daddy, NJAN's DH's dodgy sandals & Effie's five finger discount fathers day present. You girls do make me laugh.

NJAN I don't think I'll ever go to a hairdresser again, I just spent nearly €100 on Aveda shamps & conditioner but I feel justified because I cut my own hair. I think because I have quite thick wavy hair the weirds chunky layers kind of blend in and are unnoticable. I have to say I have never had a haircut that thinned my big mop out so well. I've always asked different hair dressers if they could thin it out a bit and they always say 'oh it's very difficult to thin out hair like yours'. No it's bloody not, it's just difficult to do in such a way that I'll need to come back in four weeks and have it done again.

spotofcheerfulness · 21/06/2010 10:08

Hi folks, just a quickie from me as about to start some proper work (hah!).

Rubs, so glad trip has been getting better, I think you are going well above and beyond the call of wifely duty ferrying your DH to a bike race at 5.30am, I hope he is eternally grateful and giving you lots of lie ins. Glad that DS's teeth have stopped being so hurty as well, and that he's been able to get his gnashers round some nice paella. Mmmm, hungry already.

NJAN, that is a top story about DS1, I hope you've recorded it somewhere to embarrass him about in a few years' time!

WG, sorry to hear the in-laws are annoying you, can we have some stories please? (in an it'll-be-cathartic-for-you way, and not at all to give us a giggle. No.)

Kiwi, how is DD sleeping at the moment?

Well, DP and I had The Talk at the weekend (we on;y every do have one talk in fact, we've had the same issues since we got together so it's a constant re-airing and rehashing). Anyhoo, of course it was at a spectacularly bad time (the hotel before the wedding) and I got very upset and we both got cross and hostile and all the delightfully passive aggressive ways we tend to communicate, but anyway we aired a lot of things, somehow something clicked and we ended up having a really good night (and, maybe TMI, but did the deed for the first time since the conception of no.2). A lot of our issues will just always be there but I think a bit of an explosion every once in a while seems to do us good. We both have a tendency to internalise our anger and get all resentful which then builds up. Anyway, things are far from perfect but they're better.

KiwiPanda · 21/06/2010 10:47

Spot It sounds like a really good thing that you got things out into the open, however fraught the process!

DD was sleeping much better but woke a zillion times last night - but I think that she's teething at the moment (two bad nights in a row) poor mite. She has put herself back to sleep each time anyway, just having woken me up first...!

Nolda · 21/06/2010 11:34

Congratulations and well done, Beans! Can't wait to hear all the gory details.

JollyBear · 21/06/2010 11:49

Congrats to beans and the bean clan!! I was following progress on DH's itouch but didn't post as I was worried I might crash the thread with one wrong type from my clumsy fingers. I'm very excited, our first baby on the thread since Dec 08 .

If we find out her address could someone email/text it to me? I'd like to send a card too.

Will catch up properly later...

TheInvisibleHand · 21/06/2010 11:59

Congrats to the beans family - that is really lovely. I am sure whizz will be a fabulous big sis.

sybilfaulty · 21/06/2010 12:06

Kiwi, I am so sorry I didn't make it yesterday for tea but I stayed off MN til the evening so only saw your message too late. Another time for sure.

Well done Beans! Can't wait to hear all the news. I do have her new address I think so if you want to text me I'll pass it on.

Who predicted girl apart from LadyT?> I know Beans thought boy, as did I. Are any boys predicted amongst our preggos? I know we have 2 def girls but do we have any def or possible boys???

I am working my socks off today. Not fun. Back for more goss later.

spotofcheerfulness · 21/06/2010 12:07

I will eat my hat if I'm not having a boy.

SummerLightning · 21/06/2010 12:13

CONGRATS TO BEANS!!! I have been lurking but not had chance to post!

Only a quick post as lots of work to do.

I think I'm having a boy too spot though I am not confident enough to eat any hats (unless they are made of chocolate)

I think avo predicted a boy. Though she might have changed her mind at the last minute!

OH. My. God. It's me and Rubes next!!! She'll be first I expect.
