Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Rubena · 21/05/2010 09:43

You're very welcome Daisy I have purchased SO many cute things for dd all new with or without tags at mostly 50-80% off the full price! I heart Ebay that's for sure.
Beans do you have a picture or link to dd's dress? I'm in a bit of a frenzy at the moment buying little girls dresses! I was in BabyGap, and Pumpkin Patch Wed and saw some of the lovliest things Is it too early to be buyin g stuff for dd fo next Summer? Or perhaps our holiday to NZ in Feb since it will be hot

Veggiemummy · 21/05/2010 10:30

Pubes personally I would wait. I have never had any luck buying too far ahead. I either put them away and forget about them until just after they have grown out of the size or they actually don't fit by the time the season comes around. If you do buy get stuff which could be adapted to either season, so short sleeve dresses that you could put a skivvy and tights under.

Rubena · 21/05/2010 10:42

Oh where's Vag gone Veg?
Yeah I've actually bought ds a couple of pairs of 12-18 month shorts but unfortunately they are swimming on him so he really only fits 9-12 and even those have been tightened with the adjustable waist buttons. I'm hoping they will fit him when we go to NZ. So far I've only bought immediate stuff for dd so I will stop there
Right I'm so congested today. DS just gone for a nap as he heard dh clomping around this morning therefore got up at 630. He was kackered by 10am.
Such a nice day

Beans33 · 21/05/2010 10:42

I would wait as well - until the summer sale - then you can have it for next year - that's what I got this dress in. It has little yellow pants to match too. So beautiful. No pics as it's a bit old. Plus Gap doesn't have online in UK, does it. Mental!

Have just been to asda to try to buy a football for DD. I can't believe they dont' have any. BUT they are selling quite big paddling pools for £10 - really chuffed to have got one. DH was huffy about it on the phone as she already has a sandpit bought by granny! Erm, hello? She'll use it loads and it was £10!!

Beans33 · 21/05/2010 10:59

Or am I over-justifying??!

Rubena · 21/05/2010 11:11

Beans - I want to get a paddling pool too. I actually saw one in Wilkinsons for £3 but didn't get it as I wondered if it would be terrible quality, but now I'm thinking I will....
I ordered one of these and it has just arrived. I am a size 10 pre-maternity and I hate these sizes that are only 8-10 or 12-14 as I'm usually in between. I have just put it on and it fits fine now, but not sure it will for much longer. Not sure whether to excahnge it or risk it not being comfortable later. it is v v v comfortable now but the bust even looks like the seams are sort of in the wrong spot as I've got quite a long torso. Infact I think I've just answered my own question adn i'll exchange it for the medium....

SummerLightning · 21/05/2010 11:12

Morning dora hello, welcome back and very sorry to hear about your FIL. hope you are all ok in the circumstances. I was wondering where you had gone the other day.

veggie I like your new name but veggie suits you better. Or vaggie, tee hee.

daisy love the dress.

Jealous of the ebay baby buying Rubes, hmmm, wish I knew what I was having!!

Beans of course you are justified in buying paddling pool! I am trying not to buy too many summer garden toys until we have moved house, but I may have to give in!!!

Can anyone recommend things? Am also wondering about scooters, ride-on things, etc, that they can use outside, as well as bigger things like paddling pools, sandpits, slides, etc....is there anything that's great or a big waste of time?? Bearing in mind that nursery have slides, climbing stuff, etc and we're always going to the park I am thinking little plastic versions of these things might be a waste of time.

Oh by the way the blackout worked. He woke at 7:15. I expected him awake for milk at least earlier as he ate NO TEA whatsoever. I told DH that I was fed up trying to persuade him to eat things (he would eat no chilli con carne or veggie lasange which I'd offered him) and I thought I should just give up. So DH said he would take over and he gave up too, but without even giving him any fruit or yoghurt!! I felt a bit bad, but he doesn't seem to have much appetite at the moment. He's also teething so I suppose I should go easy on him and just give him fruit/yog if that's what he wants.

Veggiemummy · 21/05/2010 11:16

It's gorgeous here too. DH is picking DS1 up from school now (he only has a half day Friday) and then we are going to the beach. I'm going to take some fresh bread rolls and we will buy some chips and have chip butties! Poor DH has to go into the office so he can't join us until later.

I just told the women at the reservations desk of the hotel we are staying at for a wedding that i love her. At the end of the conversation I said 'goodbye, love you!'

Veggiemummy · 21/05/2010 11:19

Beans no way, sand pit + pool= a beach in the back garden hooray. He would hate me, I get a new paddling pool every year, damn early learning center and their new designs that look way better (and are even harder to inflate) than the previous year!

Veggiemummy · 21/05/2010 11:22

SL why does Veggie suit me??? And micro scooters are awesome good for balancing when they are little and still good fun until they are 4ish as they can do little jumps and carve it up.

SummerLightning · 21/05/2010 11:25

Oh just because it's been your name for ever!!!
I'm sure we would get used to it if you ever changed your name, but you ARE veggie!

Lol at Carving it up!! There were two boys arriving at nursery on scooters doing precisely that this morning. Very boisterous, but cute!

Rubena · 21/05/2010 11:25

PMSL Vag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is hilarious!!!! Oh that made my day.... thanks

Vaggie - so should I go to ELC for the paddling pool? Off to have a look at their webside now...

Damn damn damn now I don't know whether to exchange this top or not. I found on the picture it's suppose to sit where it does on my udders.... it fits fine everywhere now but if I get too much bigger it will be riding up I reckon.... oooh I hate these decisions. I'd def go bigger if I knew it wouldn't compromise the support as it's feels like it helps already

SummerLightning · 21/05/2010 11:27

veggie did you say "Love you" in English or Dutch?

Rubena · 21/05/2010 11:29

should I exchange the top or not???

I'm babbling again aren't I? [looks around for Spot] least I'm not alone today....

SummerLightning · 21/05/2010 11:32

I was going to reply Rubes about your top, but I couldn't decide!!!

I'd probably get the bigger one as it will be more useful the bigger you are and you don't want it to be uncomfy. There. That's my vote.

Rubena · 21/05/2010 11:32

This looks good

Rubena · 21/05/2010 11:33

Thanks Summer - anyone else? You've got till 5pm tonight to decide for me...

SummerLightning · 21/05/2010 11:34

ARe you intending wearing it under stuff or as a top on it's own? If the latter I'd get the bigger one if you're going to wear it under then if it rides up eventually not such a big deal. But when you are 8-9 months pg it may well be HOT and you won't want multiple layers.

Rubena · 21/05/2010 11:40

yes I really wanted to do both ie at the moment wear it under for support then wear it on it's own or just with a bra on under it as I got the black one. I think I will exchange it as I need to make sure it will be long enough...

Beans33 · 21/05/2010 11:41

I'd go bigger. I have been at the shops most of the morning with DD. She has been such a good girl. And pottering around in my shoes since we got back. She's totally exhausted, so have bought her an M&S cheese and tomato pizza and she's sitting in her bugaboo watching Waybuloo. Seems v happy. My feet are bloody killing me from all the walking. And they smell! I keep forgetting I'm 2 stone heavier than I was! Not that that has any bearing on smelliness, but it does on sore feet.

V pleased with my paddling pool. Hope DD likes it too. Will get it out on Sunday, I think as 2 other NCT families coming round and it's due to be 27!

Veggie - v pleased you're back to Veg!

Beans33 · 21/05/2010 12:14

OH bugger - pizza was not a fave. Ended up having plain bread. As usual. Honestly, I worry there is no variation in her diet! Hoping sausages might be more of a hit tonight!

SummerLightning · 21/05/2010 12:21

I was just feeling a bit jealous of your DD eating pizza til you posted that beans!! I was just thinking "Why won't he eat normal things like that?"

Beans33 · 21/05/2010 12:29

Oh gosh, don't feel jealous - she really mostly eats bread. No wonder she has constipation! Although that seems a bit better of late.

Wow, off for a little sleep as soon as DD goes off - I'm knackered!

Avocadoes · 21/05/2010 12:29

Welcome back Dora. Just yesterday I was telling someone about your DD's voice of God moment on the Underground. I'm sorry to hear about your FiL but, as others have said, it's good he had such a supported passing. I hope your knees and ankles are ok soon.

Beans/Summer - paddling pools are vital summer kit. So much fun has been had in ours. In winter I fill it with platic balls from ELC and even more fun is had. I would also recommend a scooter. DD2 is obsessed with DD1's and can almost scoot despite only just walking.

Jam - sorry about your gfil is not embracing family time. None of our relatives are v good at that sort of stuff. It is very saddening when you want your DCs to feel enveloped in a large warm family.

Lovely day. Am meeting NCT friends for a picnic later. Sadly I must first go and get the morning after pill which will make me feel rubbish. Bloody DH with his "we don't need condoms I promise I'll get withdraw". Then ten mins later "oops I forgot". Forgot! Maybe it wld help him remember if I vom the synthetic hormones all over him tonight. MAP makes me sick. Agggh men. (sorry forvthe tmi).

Beans33 · 21/05/2010 12:34

Avo - glad you said that about paddling pool - DH really did sound grumpy about it!
