LaDiDaDi - the airer and throw gave me a real flashback to my childhood where me and my brothers spent hours and hours and hours making camps and tents and playing in them with my mum's airer. God knows how she ever dried any clothes!!!

Claire - hope your sunburn is feeling better I did exactly the same the other day and I also am usually the sun cream police. Oh dear.

We also had a nice day here - NCT friends and babies came by as our new washing machine was being delivered so we were house bound (well it actually arrive at 7.10 am in the end obviously!!!). Got some lovely pics of them all playing together - they are definitely getting more interested in each other which is lovely to see.

madmissy · 26/05/2010 21:17

lol hendo yes tried it all, kept throwing me back to my home page will try again!

day from hell here and last night..

ds up 2-4,30 crying. very unusual. finally settled. refused any more than 1oz and 2 spoons of breakfast had his bottle at 11ish and tiny amount of lunch then refused bottle til 3 had his dinner ok thankfully (re introducing homecooked as he seems to hate it alone! so do half jar half mine) had some milk before bed too. but sooooo grouchy

will put it down to teething

dd1 went to a friends today, i had the friend after school the other day and shes a cutie but can be very over powering and dd is total opposite! anyway was walking off chatting to the normal mums etc and then another mum approached me saying whats happening later....
me completely confused! apparently i was having her dd! i never arranged a certain day i had mentioned wed as a option but she took it upon herself to take that in writing!

apparently shes done it before to another mum

GoldenSnitch · 26/05/2010 22:36

Have a real need to go and buy myself an airer that you could make a den under now

Hope you have a better night tonight madmissy.

DH is off work tomorrow so must make an effort to get the highchair out of the loft so I can give it a clean. The bouncy chair is now covered in food after Catherine decided she didn't like this afternoons Mango rice pudding!!

Goodnight everyone

Happy Birthday Bex

hendo77 · 27/05/2010 08:22

Happy Birthday GS and Bex - hope you both have lovely days.

Talking of birthdays, Lee you have to rebook your meal soon!

Nights are getting rubbisher again here, Imogen is just waking up at all hours throughout the night. V tired...

LaDiDaDi · 27/05/2010 09:24

Happy Birthday GS and Bex. Hope that you both have good days .

BexJ78 · 27/05/2010 09:27

Happy Birthday GS!!

Got a lie in til 8am this morning!! Woo and indeed, hoo!

Claire236 · 27/05/2010 12:46

Happy birthday GS & Bex

madmissy - my ds is still not eating very well. I had put it down to the heat but I've now decided he's teething. It's good to have a reason even if it is a made up one. Hope your ds sleeps better tonight.

What's with these babies of ours & their sleep recently. Didn't they read the baby books that say they should be sleeping through now.

This is very boring so apologies. My teeth have been looking pretty horrible recently & I thought there was something wrong with them. Saw dentist the other day who said I had really good teeth & just needed cleaning. Saw the hygienist this am & my teeth look totally amazing now. Am so happy as had started feeling quite self conscious. Not helped by ds1 asking me last week why my teeth were brown. I feel so much more confident now.

I've got a friend visiting for the weekend. Picking her up from the airport tomorrow am. It'll be the first time she's seen ds2. Can't wait to see her.

Lee I think reflux can be wide ranging in how serious it is and how much discomfort it causes babies - this explains it better though! If he's on track with weight and is just a bit sick but otherwise well I wouldn't worry. Some babies are just more 'sicky' than others I think. Glad she made you feel a bit better, although July 1st?!? If your GP surgery is like mine, you could find out which day she is the duty doctor and maybe get an appointment with her on that day - ours let us do that if we need to see a specific doctor...

Claire - no idea why these babies haven't read the books?!?!? I keep telling Imogen every morning and night what she should be doing but she just grins and ignores me!!!

madmissy · 27/05/2010 19:14

oh i'm obsessed with my teeth
touch wood still not had to have a filling.

DS was loads better last night back to sleeping through. still bit picky with his bottle but hes sucking on it funny sometimes so im sure its his gum thats sore

if in doubt blame teething!

Klerka · 27/05/2010 19:37

Happy Birthday GS and Bex - so sorry for the late salutations!! I hope you've both had great days.

I really need to get the guts to call a dentist and get booked in. Will get the whole family registered. I haven't been for over 2 years and am really scared but really want to get my teeth cleaned... well done Claire - you've given me the inspiration I needed. Thank you.

Had Holly weighed today - she is now at 24 weeks 17 pounds 9 ounces and 65 cms. So is still averaging gaining half a pound a week and is only just now settling on a percentile line.

I hope we all get some rest tonight especially you Hendo and LaDiDaDi.

DH is working today and tomorrow silly hours - basically 8am this morning right the way through til probably about 2am (18 hours) and then the same tomorrow. He should get a break but hasn't called today so can only imagine he hasn't had one... on the positive side he has the whole weekend off - first time for such a long time! Not sure what we are going to do - poor guy will probably need to sleep most of Saturday - but at least I'll know he's home!

madmissy · 27/05/2010 20:10

I had Brodie weighed on Tuesday, hes no 19lb 3oz. He's only put a oz on in 2 weeks but was told it will slow down now hes weaned.
Thanks god! Keep him a baby a bit longer!

hendo77 · 27/05/2010 21:09

Claire - just seen your pic on the fb group, very cute and cool sunglasses!

Have bought foods for Imogen ready for Saturday! Going to steam some brocoli and roast long fingers of carrots, sweet potato and butternut squash and I also have mango and melon and of couse cucumber. Very, very excited now.

Had some professional pictures of Imogen taken today at a coffee afternoon. Managed to leave her lovely dress at home that I was going to take for her to wear, but they had some fairy wings there so we just took lots of pictures of her in the fairy wings and wth a wand with ribbons on it instead, which actually I think will look cute. Glad I'm going away next week or else I'd be very impatient to wait to see the pictures and they take 8 - 10 days.

anniebigpants · 27/05/2010 23:17

Hope you had a nice birthday GS and Bex, mines next Tuesday, its a special birthday as im the big 40. Im off to Edinburgh for the weekend to celebrate with my friends, then going for a nice meal with DH on Tuesday night. My DS who is 4 says hes going to buy me a sports car for my birthday-bless him

Pictures sound lovely hendo. I really must get some nice ones done of Ellis, we have loads up of his brother Oliver but none up of him .

Hope you have a nice weekkend with your DH home Klerka claire and lee-Thanks for singing the praises of hygienists, as that is what i am and quite often it is a thankless job, people whinge and accuse you of being too rough if you make their gums bleed when treating them. Its lovely when people actually praise our work

Hope everyone who needs more sleep gets it soon. Some nights E sleeps through 7-7, sometimes just til 5 then has a feed and straight back to sleep, sometimes he,ll wake at 12, feed then sleep til 7.

Ellis was sick when i gave him his last feed tonight, which is most unusual for him as he is never sick, most of it went all over me, there was loads, bless him, but he went down ok straight after and hes been asleep now for 4 hours, so not sure what caused it

GoldenSnitch · 28/05/2010 08:49

Thankyou for the birthday wishes everyone. I had a lovely birthday

Didn't get a lie in - Catherine was up at 6.20 wanting a feed then laid there cooing and gurgling at me for an hour till Alex woke up and came in - but I did get presents in bed. I got a new top and some special headphones for running which won't fall out my ears every five minutes which will be great. Alex went to preschool in the morning so I got a quiet morning with Catherine and DH, then after pre school, we had some lunch (and birthday cake) and headed off to the farm. I missed out on feeding the lambs because Catherine was petrified of the baa-ing and screamed but we had a lovely day. Then in the evening, MIL came round to babysit while DH and I went out for a meal - our first one since before Catherine was born!!

Not seen my family yet as they all live a few hours drive away but they're coming over at the weekend so I'll get to have a second birthday on Sunday

I hope you had a good day too Bex.

I'm also obsessive about my teeth. Had them all sealed as a child and have 1 filling which was caused by the sealings!! Dentist said that there had been a bubble in the stuff they used and when it wore down to expose the bubble, food could get stuck in there and there was no way I could possible have cleaned it out as it was tiny! So my one, tiny filling was caused by the stuff designed to protect my teeth!!

Working hard now to make sure the children like dentists as much as I do and looks after his teeth.

Just had our first veg box delivery so I can make soe yummy stuff for catherine now we're moving on from baby rice. Hoping to find some time to get cooking over the long weekend.

Got to go - Catherine wants a feed. Hope everyone had a good nights sleep and has a lovely day

GoldenSnitch · 28/05/2010 09:10

Sorry, that's very rambling - was trying to get it done before Catherine started crying for her feed and didn't manage it.

hendo77 · 28/05/2010 10:48

GS - what a lovely day you had.

You are all making me feel guilty for not going to the dentist more regularly. I know I should go really... my mum was really good at taking us regularly when we were little, but my dad on the other hand hasn't been since 1976!!!

Had to take Imogen to the GP today as she had what looked like really sore nappy rash in the creases where her legs meet her body. GP thinks it is thrush and so I've got to put caneston cream on it. The GP said it must be really painful for her, although she seems her usual happy self during the day, so I'm blaming the feeding every 3 hours throughout the night again this week on that!!! Makes a change from blaming it on teething (despite there being no teeth appearing yet still)... I agree it's always nice to blame it on something!!!

Hi
I walked to the next village today and registered the whole family at a dentist (well DH and I, and got DD on the list for the future too). Got our first appointment booked for 21st June one after each other so we can watch DD while each of us go in. Very pleased with myself... I know I'll get very nervous about it nearer the time but it's much better than toothache isn't it - and I will sing the praises of the hygienist Annie .

Hendo - saw you on the weaning thread - think I will start this weekend with you as DH is off all weekend... bought some squash and sweet potato today to add to the other veg I have in. Excited too - we will be able to directly compare notes! Glad you asked about the roasting... I have a sneaking suspicion that I would just have tried to steam them... will get DH's help, need cooking lessons! Oh, and hope her rash is better, poor thing.

hendo77 · 28/05/2010 16:15

Thanks Klerka - I think I caught it early as I thought I'd ring just in case as we were going away tomorrow so glad I did. I'm steaming brocoli and roasting the rest... all laid out ready for cutting up and cooking tonight!! Good luck with it - I will look forward to hearing how you got on as well when I get back next week! Btw I think that just steaming them is fine - just I prefer the taste of them roasted and read somewhere that it gives them better grip on the outside...

hendo77 · 28/05/2010 16:23

Thanks Lee as well I meant to say - sorry!!!

BottersnikesandGumbles · 28/05/2010 16:33

Finally decided on a new name...

Can't decided if I like it or should revert back to GS?

It was one of my favourite books as a child. It was either this or Hepzibah...

BottersnikesandGumbles · 28/05/2010 16:34

Hepzibah is taken

hendo77 · 28/05/2010 17:00

I like it! Do we call you BG now then?!?
