Lovely pictures everyone! They all look so happy in them - we must be doing alright I reckon!

Hi everyone, can I join you? I've lurked occasionally and posted a couple of times on the pre and then post threads but not joined properly iyswim. It would be great to get more involved and keep up with what other December babes are up to. DS2 was born 6th December, I've also got a 5 year old and a nearly 4 year old.

Currently struggling with sleep, LO doesn't seem to want to sleep for any more than 2 hours at a time, day or night. Am clinging on to to the 'it's just a phase' mantra for dear life! Still, at least it's not too hot today

BexJ78 · 25/05/2010 13:52

Welcome Docket.
Wll, as predicted, buying a parasol and baby banz has worked like a charm. It was drizzling this morning and cold!

Tried anna on some rice cake and houmous and also some mango and she had a little bit! very excited!

Hope you're all ok.

Welcome Docket!

Bex - how exciting is it with the food about to start? I went out with a friend today for lunch at an italian where we had pizza. Imogen sat nicely in a highchair but absolutely demanded a taste of pizza and no distracting or toys would stop her flinging her arms towards the plates and basically shouting for food!!! We had sat away from everyone is in the restaurant luckily, but I pulled a piece of the crust off and let her suck on it a bit which she seemed to like for about 5 minutes and then was happy to play with her toys again. I think she is definitely ready to start blw now.

Lee - Imogen doesn't roll either. She can flip herself from front to back if she wants too and will twist onto her side but appears not to be really bothered about doing rolling. Of my NCT group (6 of us)Imogen is the only one that can sit unaided for short periods of time (although cushions or hands must always be at the ready!!!), only one of the 6 can roll both ways and does it constantly, 2 of them can go one way but can't get back the other and the other 2 have no interest whatsover in doing any moving at all it seems! They are all quite different in what they want to do and I have met quite a few people who have told me their children never rolled ever so I think they're all different and it's completly normal. I keep trying to 'teach' her by rolling her over myself and then cheering her but she still won't do it herself!!!

It's still sunny here, but with a lovely cool breeze today. I have just spent an absolute fortune on 'summer' clothes for Imogen on the basis that she's more or less grown out of her 3-6 months clothes. Not sure it warranted such a hugh spending spree though really...

Sorry I've written soooo much!

LaDiDaDi · 25/05/2010 19:56

Welcome docket!

Sorry that your birthday plans went a bit awry Lee, hope that you get that nice meal out soon.

Ds doesn't roll either though he can get both of his big toes in his mouth at once, he looks like he's been folded in half .

GoldenSnitch · 25/05/2010 20:26

Sorry your birthday wasn't up to much Lee. I hope you get your night out soon.

Welcome Docket

It's been warm but not amazingly hot anymore. Made tonight's run easier, managed 5k again. Hopefully it'll make sleeping a little more comfortable too. Catherine's in a sleepsuit with no vest again tonight and a light blanket. She was in nothing but a short sleeved vest and nappy again last night and her hands and feet were still lovely and warm when she woke for her night feeds cause it was so hot.

Still waiting for our baby banz to turn up. Maybe tomorrow

madmissy · 25/05/2010 21:22

Well done! I only ever do Fridays at the moment! you put me to shame!!

madmissy · 25/05/2010 21:29

i can;t upload to our fb group!?

hendo77 · 25/05/2010 21:33

If you click on the photo tab once on the group page, then the add group photos button. It takes you to all your albums and photos that you have already uploaded to fb - if you want you can choose the album and then the individual picture you want to 'share' with the group. I thought it looked like it was going to share the whole album, but you get to choose specifically which pictures you want. If you want to add photos from your computer that haven't been uploaded to fb already, then click on the upload photos tab and you should be able to upload them. Does that help at all? Or have you already tried that and I'm annoyingly telling what you already know?!?

sparklycheerymummy · 25/05/2010 22:11

hi just on for a few minutes....dp thinks i spend too much time on the laptop full stop but its because i find it hard to relax and this is what i do to relax!!!

ds is doing far more than dd did at this age.... she was slower at doing everything but is an incredibly bright, intelligent well behaved little girl....maybe ds early development means he is goin to be a little sod at school in later life..... who knows. i dont want him to be doing all he is cos it makes them feel grown up and not babies anymore. he can only roll one way reliably but today was on his hands and tip toes a lot!!

i have a docs appointment for a weeks time to discuss my afs as they are so bad its untrue....keep fainting and feeling light headed and sorry if tmi but absolutely flooding..... not sure if its cos ds was so large and my body hasnt healed properly??? also got athletes foot, bad back, dieting but not losing weight and feeling down so need a complete service and mot at the docs!!!

GoldenSnitch · 25/05/2010 22:29

I hope the doctor can help Sparkly. You sound like you're having a hard time at the moment!!

I've got a lot of weight to lose Madmissy and running shifts it fastest. It's hard work but I can't bear the thought of going on holiday looking like I do at the moment.

Right off to bed. Since we started weaning, Catherine's gone back to her midnight and 4am feed routine. It's tiring but better than it was. Hopefully, she'll drop one or the other soon as we start with more food.

Klerka · 26/05/2010 06:57

Morning all,
Welcome docket!

Sorry your birthday wasn't as planned Lee... get that rescheduled dinner arranged before the time gets away with you!

Sparkly - make sure you don't feel rushed at the docs and run through everything with them ... it'll do you good to get an mot as you say! I hope they can help with your af - that sounds tough.

All well here... we're out for the afternoon meeting a friend and her DS, we met at antenatal class. We mentioned a picnic but I'm not sure if the weather will hold up. It's too early to tell right now - but I certainly don't mind if it isn't too hot - just a bit of sunshine would be nice. There is a beer festival on this week so might go sit on the city green on which that is on. I believe they have local food stalls also - cheese etc!

Have a great day all.

Claire236 · 26/05/2010 07:53

Has it been that long since I was on here. Seem to have missed loads.

Lee - sorry your birthday wasn't what you hoped. Make sure you get your night out rearranged soon.

Sparkly - hopefully dr can help with your af & you're getting things back on track with dp.

GS - well done on the running. I can't seem to summon up the willpower to do anything for more than a week. Last week was on the crosstrainer every morning but decided it was too hot this week so have done nothing.

Are anyone elses los suffering in the heat. ds2 is not eating or drinking much, keeps being sick, sleeps most of the day & is generally not a very happy boy.

I stupidly got sunburnt yesterday. Got burnt a few weeks ago in spite of wearing factor 30 & went out yesterday with nothing on because there was a cool breeze. Needless to say the sun was still really strong & my arms & the back of my neck are bright red & really sore. Even better I had my sun lotion in my bag & had slathered lotion all over ds2. I'm now getting ribbed mercilessly by everyone I know as I'm generally the sun lotion police.

OP posts:
LaDiDaDi · 26/05/2010 13:43

Heat, what heat ??? 10C here yesterday and today, with showers and no sun.

I'm soooo tired today. Ds has been waking up at least every two hours for the past two nights and dd has had a wet bed as she wanted to try without pull ups (we had run out anyway) and this morning I went shopping and in my zombie-like state forgot to buy anymore. I just feel like I'm wading through the days iyswim, I feel weepy but I'm only unhappy because I'm soo tired iyswim. Tried to go back to bed this am after the nursery drop but ds wouldn't go back to sleep so went to ASDA instead. I'm letting dd watch rubbish tv, usually I'm the tv police, because I simply can't motivate myself to do anything else and I don't wantto snap at her when it's not her fault I'm feeling like this iyswim. Going to try to make Rocky Road bars from my hummingbird bakery book later once I pull myself together a bit.

LaDiDaDi · 26/05/2010 13:44

What a complete bloody ramble .

Claire236 · 26/05/2010 15:20

Was 26C here yesterday. Didn't feel like it with the breeze though hence the sunburn. Rained all bloody day today though. Picked ds1 up from school early to take to dentist & it was absolutely throwing it down. Got totally soaked going from car to school then school to dentist. Had to throw pram raincover over ds2 carseat as don't have cover for seat & would have been totally drowned by the time I'd got pram out of boot. Had to step on grass verge to get to path when I got out of my car & it was like a swamp, slipped all over the place, shoes covered in mud. Kept shouting at ds1 over the rain to check he was still with me as couldn't see him with hood of my chavtastic Helly Hansen coat up. Moan over.

LaDiDaDi - sorry you're having such a rubbish day. It's terrible what sleep deprivation does to you. Fingers crossed for a dry night with dd & a better nights sleep with ds. A bit of rubbish tv once in a while won't hurt.

LaDiDaDi · 26/05/2010 16:46

Yippee for your ds1, Lee!

Feeling better now (1 litre of diet coke later ). Rocky road is chilling in the fridge, should be called diabetic road given that it's got 1.4 kg of choc, 8 Mars bars, 4 bags of malteasers and half a bag of marshmallows in it. Healthier ingredients include Special K, raisins and dried apricots .

Have set up the airer in the living room with a throw over it for a "den" for dd. Will have to give in to the pressure to pretend play with her now.

BexJ78 · 26/05/2010 19:00

LaDiDaDi, that rocky road sounds gorgeous.... yummy!

Sorry about your birthday Lee.Agree with Claire you should get something rearranged soon whilst you still have the motivation.

Claire, hope your sunburn is not too bad...ouch! No chance of sunburn here...since buying the parasol and baby banz it's been cold and grey here. Great!

Had a nice day here. Friends fom work popped in this afternoon on their way to a meeting, so that was good. had a good gossip catch up about work, so that was nice.

Just waiting for DH to get back on the train from newcastle, as have to pick him up fro the station. Finally got our car back from the garage on Monday, they'd had it longer than we'd had it at home by the end of it all. the dealership are flagging up our 'concerns' with the head office today I think, so we'll see if anything comes of that.

Hope you're all ok.

BexJ78 · 26/05/2010 19:03

Oh and sould have said, Hendo, sounds like that pizza crust went down a treat! Note to DH self, must buy highchair!!!
