Happy Birthday Lee. Lovely new name.

Yes Bex, the 27th. I've just noticed the 78 in your name and had a quick peek at your profile. It says you're 31. Does that mean you are 32 on Thursday? If so, we are exactly the same age!!

Good to hear about your Gran LaDiDaDi.

Put Catherine to bed in just a vest last night with a light blanket over her legs. She's gone back to waking around midnight and at around 4am but the midnight feed is really, really quick, She was done in under 10 minutes last night, so I'm wondering if we are waking her when we come to bed. Thinking of trying her in her own room soon which might help with that. She's getting too big for the crib and gets arms and legs stuck out of the bars so the cot bed might make for a better night's sleep by giving her room to move.

Off to make the most of this lovely day. DS says he fancies the toddler song and dance thing local to us this morning but I'm not sure cramming into a small room with 30 other dancing toddlers and their parents would be a good idea if it's going to be so hot today. Might stay home and refill the paddling pool. Do need to venture out to get DS some new sandals though. Last years are way too small.

GoldenSnitch · 24/05/2010 08:00

Oooh, and I lost a whole kg this week between doing Weight Watchers and running!! And I managed to run 5k on Sunday morning!

Only 2 weeks left till I'm supposed to be running the Race for Life 10k though!! Working really hard but not sure I'll manage all of it

hendo77 · 24/05/2010 09:12

Happy Birthday Lee!

GS - well done on the weight loss and running! I managed to stay the same last week, thought I was going to put some on but did some exercise this week so am going to up that and start counting my points again properly this week. I'm sure you'll be fine doing race for life - when I've done the 5k ones I have never managed to run the whole way so I'm impressed you're even attempting 10k and that you've already run 5k this week!!!

We're off to Gymboree this morning (baby play thing) then back here for chilling out in the house before it gets too hot to be anywhere else. I can't believe they are saying it's going to be 30 degrees here this afternoon...

LaDiDaDi · 24/05/2010 09:17

Happy Birthday Lee! Have a fab day.

Well done on the running/weight GS.

Weather forecast here is 15C and grey cloud so not quite as good as the rest of you are anticipating! Having said that it feels pretty warm already. Dd is at nursery and cleaner is on hols so once I've given ds a feed it's housework for me until lunchtime and no particular plans for this afternoon.

anniebigpants · 24/05/2010 10:07

Yes LaDiDaDi-Its not as nice in our part of the country as predicted for other areas is it? Sun does keep making an appearance though. It was so hot yesterday, we filled the paddling pool, cleaned and put out the sandpit and put a play tent up and my DS1 and his little friends had great fun, DS2 lay in his puschair in the shade watching with interest and had the occasional dip in the paddling pool.

Happy birthday lee-love the new name as well.

GS-Well done on the running and weight loss GS-i really need to sort my weight out as is getting me down, ive never been this fat . Im going to join Slimmimg World this week and i must try and get to the gym instead of just talking about it!

Cant believe my little man is 6 months tomorrow where has the time gone?

LaDiDaDi · 24/05/2010 10:25

I keep forgetting that we must live pretty near each other annie. Are you tyne valley way?

Just having a break to feed ds, been cleaning the kitchen and hoovering honest!

hendo77 · 24/05/2010 17:50

Just got back from a lovely afternoon sitting on the rug in the park watching the bigger children play! Imogen had her first swing on the swings and loved it and also enjoyed talking to the leaves moving in the breeze. I took a picture of her in her sunglasses when we got back so will try to work out how to put it up - they are very funny and she didn't seem to mind wearing them, she only pulled them down once to eat them!

Hoppe everyone else had lovely days!

BexJ78 · 24/05/2010 18:00

Argghh...just typed a message and then internet crashed..grrrr....

Happy Birthday Lee. Hope you have a lovely (and uninterrupted) meal out tonight!

GS, yes, I am indeed 32 on thurs, so we are proper birthday twins! Perhaps we could share a virtual cake!

We had a lovely weekend here and also had amzing weather, but like the rest of you then had a bit of stress about whether Anna's room was too hot, plus we only have 2.5 tog sleeping bags so ended up putting her in the bag in just her nappy! Went to mothercare today though and bought a parasol for the pushchair and some baby banz, so that will probably guarantee rubbish weather after today!

Hope you are all ok-good news on your gran LaDiDaDi.

GoldenSnitch · 24/05/2010 19:46

Virtual cake would be lovely

Are you doing anything special for your birthday? DH has got the day off and has said we can go where ever I want. I'm thinking maybe Mead open farm with a picnic if the weather stays nice for long enough then dinner at Pizza Express. Catherine's back to sleeping quite consistently from 7pm till around midnight so I'm even wondering if we can wangle a babysitter for night out?

Had a quiet day today. Played at home for the morning then took Alex out to buy new sandals for him in the afternoon. My holiday clothes from Next arrived but now I'm worried that I'm going to have to send most of them back cause they'll be impossible to feed in. Keep forgetting that I have to allow for that!!

sparklycheerymummy · 24/05/2010 20:00

HI guys......am trying not to come on here quite so much as dp has issues with it and we are trying harder to work through things. but i am still sneaking on here.....i have tried to explain i get a lot of comfort nad support from on hee but he thinks i am mad talking to myself on here really.
ds is sleeping 7pm - 5/6am with only one dummy plug in around 11ish which is fab. he is also getting on his hands and knees and rocking as if he is going to take off....he can shuffle backwards already!!!!

Having a few issues with dd.....she had a dream that me and her were facing each other but the ground was getting bigger between us and a big hole was opening up.....she was shouting me and i was shouting her but we couldnt get near each other........i am so so upset that it means something as she is also having wet pants again a bit (she is 8. So today i have bought a lucky dip bag of treats...little pencils, bubbles, sweets etc and if she is good and keeps her pants dry she gets a treat. have also started setting a timer to remind her hourly (we were advised to do this by a doctor as she has done this before!) I just dont know what to do!!!

Glad to hear about your gran LAdidadi.

ds had his first kiss today when his little girlfriend came round and they shuffled to each other and then ds tried to eat her head....she didnt seem to mind but it was fascinating watching them work each other out!!!

hendo77 · 24/05/2010 20:23

Sparkly - glad to hear that you are trying to work through things with your dp and I hope it makes things better for you. Imogen for the first time today sort of half got up on her knees and hands at the same time and went backwards which surprised her! So cute about your ds and his friend!

I managed to put a picture of Imogen in her sunglasses on my profile on here (I think anyway!) - they stayed on all the time she was wearing them until the end of our road and when I put them back on again they were a bit wonky!!!

GS - just a thought, but could you use a bf cover instead of sending your nice new holiday clothes back? I use one and find I can usually sit somewhere in such a way that with the cover I can pretty much lift my top right up at the front and still be decent?

sparklycheerymummy · 24/05/2010 20:30

gorgeous pic hendo!!

i had a bf cover and i got in a muddle with it but that was in the early days of bf.... you can get them cheaply on ebay!!!

GoldenSnitch · 24/05/2010 20:54

Lovely photo hendo

My only worry with a bf cover is that we're going to be in Portugal and it's going to be hot. The last thing I want is getting all extra hot and sweaty under a cover if I don't need to.

Usually I'm quite unreserved when it comes to feeding. Something about my FIL being there makes me want to be a bit more discreet though.

I've got a dress and 2 kaftans. The kaftans can be pulled up but the dress might be more of a challenge. Am considering seeing if I can buy some of those clips you get on feeding bra's and modifying it.

GoldenSnitch · 24/05/2010 21:01

Meant to say too - Sparkly, glad you and DP are working through things. Bit sad that it means you have to avoid MN and all the support it provides though - has he said why he has such issues with it?

Hope you can work things out.

legscrossed · 24/05/2010 21:10

What to dress the babies in in this heat is freaking me out, what are you girls doing.

Lo room is 25 deg

hendo77 · 24/05/2010 21:13

I'm impressed you're even thinking about modifying a dress, but it does sound like a good idea, esp if it won't pull down.

I did get a clip thing that you can clip onto a muslin or pashmina and hang round your neck instead as well, but never tried it. Maybe fashioning something out of a muslin might work and be less hot if the dress modifying ends up being too complicated!!!

Sparkly - would he have a problem with you using facebook? If not and it became a real issue you could talk to us on there instead...

hendo77 · 24/05/2010 21:17

legscrossed - we also have a 25 degree room here. In the end tonight Imogen is sleeping in a short-sleeved vest only and has one blanket draped over her (one of those ones with all the little holes in them). Her room has now just dropped to 24 degrees (we've left a window open for now) and I might just put more blankets on her later if she feels cold when she feeds. I have no idea if this is OK, I'm pretty sure she isn't too hot and she hasn't woken up so I'm assuming she isn't too cold... hope that's the right way to look at it!

BexJ78 · 24/05/2010 21:29

GS, not doing anything on the day with DH as he is working and taking Friday off instead so we can have a long weekend. Soooo, rather than just be in with Anna on my own all day, have invited a few friends from NCT, plus a couple of other friends with really little babies and weather permitting we are going to sit out on our lawn and have a picnic. Looking forward to it.
We will probs go for lunch in York on Friday and then we are off to the theatre on Sat night and our friends are baby sitting! Hoorah! Hopefully will get chance for a couple of pre and post show drinks too

Hope you can manage to keep sneaking on here Sparkly...my DH sometimes makes smart arse comments about being on here, but i just tell him what to do! ha ha!

Legs, what does your LO normally wear for bed, and do they go in a sleeping bag, or under sheets etc?

have put a couple of new pics of anna on the fb page. The arty good one was taken by my bro who is setting up as a photographer. He has all the artistic talent out of the two of us!

BexJ78 · 24/05/2010 21:35

Should also say GS sounds like you will have a lovely day - would be great if you could have a sitter. My DM was supposed to be baby sitting for us this weekend, but my step-dad had a crisis of confidence and my mum backed out.... They are supposed to be having Anna overnight in the summer on a couple of occasions when we have weddings to go to, so I have told my mum we're counting on her for those ones, and she's assured us, she will look after A come what may.....

GoldenSnitch · 24/05/2010 21:41

Catherine is in just a short sleeved vest with a cellular blanket too. I check the back of her neck to make sure she's warm enough. Even her feet and hands are warm though so she's definitely not cold.

Modifying the dress shouldn't be too hard and I can always call in my Mum if I get stuck. She's been known to make wedding dresses in the past (not mine though - long and ranty story) so adding some clips to a ready made dress would be a breeze for her.

Let us know if Facebook is OK Sparkly. I've added a picture of Catherine having her first taste of food. She had her first taste of fruit today - pear. It's the first time she's eaten something without breastmilk in it and you could see she was a bit shocked by the change of taste.

LaDiDaDi · 24/05/2010 21:53

Had a nice day here, hope everyone else did too.

Imogen looks very cool in her shades .

Saw a tiny baby today, he looked sooo cute, feeling broody again.

Sparkly, hope things work out for you with your dp.

What is the facebook group called? I haven't joined it yet.

GoldenSnitch · 24/05/2010 22:03

The group is here LaDiDaDi
