Good enough for ya dog .

And sorry I do realise some are only turning 14 mths and some are nearly 16mths etc,etc......apologies!

All officially toddlers now though i think (well 120's H and HKZ's J are pulling up/taking steps now I think, think mostly everyone walking of some sort!) Scary thought!

my brother lets a flat in Berlin for 65 euro a night and it can sleep four (but is a one bed with a sofabed in the sitting room)

in case anyone fancies a trip to Berlin!

moosemama · 05/05/2010 13:35

Dishwasher! I would seriously love a dishwasher, in this house the dishwasher is me!

That second house is very much like the ones dh and I drool over in Hebden. We keep coming up against the lack of garden space in our price range (whatever that may be) though, as with dogs and kids, a yard just isn't enough. Would also seriously love an aga or rayburn for the dogs to lie around in the winter. I think we all need to get together and buy an old farm up there and start a commune/community with homes made out of the farmhouse, barns, outbuildings etc. Then dh could build his dream segal house and be happy as a sandboy in eco heaven.

Thanks for the brownies link 120. Need to go shopping now as I used up all the G&B cocoa, caster sugar and vanilla extract yesterday.

Ok, so now dd's new jeans are a rather fetching hat, apparently.

treedelivery · 05/05/2010 13:41

Yup - the outside seems to clich it every time.

We had the same trauma moving into this house, although as said before, this small ourside space turns out to be 60sq metres.

The thing is to have land. I need a relative to leave me a small patch of earth that I can build a house on.

120 - bargain! DH and I could do with a romantic sleeping break

120 · 05/05/2010 14:18

ok. read all and retained nothing apart from fingers crossed for mj and hz.

I need to make about 60 cupcakes for DD's party at the weekend. Just want to do the plain vanilla ones and have about 5,000 recipes to choose from but never made them before so not really sure what a good one would look like! Any ideas?

my absolute fav staple dish is the stuffed butternut squash one on my blog. It looks and tastes amazing and takes 5 mins prep. lso the veggie bolognaise and minestrone are fab.

I think I'm going to have to go home now as can't keep my eyes open any more!

treedelivery · 05/05/2010 14:25

Poor 120. Go eat carbs. Lots.

H is still asleep on me but we have to leave in 20 mins, she hasn't had lunch, and we go straight from school to GP for immunisations. Argh!

She hasn't had her pnemo...thingiemibobbom. Am waiting for the mmr, tll she is dairy tolerant. Don't ask me why, I don't actually know.

In fact she hasn't eaten today really, just 2 spoons of breakfast. She's a bit snotty so I won't annoy her with it.

moosemama · 05/05/2010 14:26

Not strictly speaking Hebden, but close enough. I'm quite attracted to the possibilities/potential of this one.

I think its the fact that on a few websites, even the estate agent describes it as ideal for the bohemian lifestyle.

treedelivery · 05/05/2010 14:30

OOOOh Moose! Stop it!!

Imagine!

moosemama · 05/05/2010 14:33

What sort of cupcakes do you want, 120? I tend to just go for victoria sandwich mix for normal sized ones and madeira mix for larger muffin cup sized ones. I find its better to keep the cake mix simple then have fun with the decoration.

There are loads of tutorials on how to do the fashionable swirl top icing on you-tube here. Another good place for inspiration is flickr here.

moosemama · 05/05/2010 14:37

You started it!

Mmmm, yes, imagine.

Dd hasn't had her jabs yet either. Was brave enough to book them once, then she and ds2 were ill and we couldn't go. Haven't plucked up the courage again since, but strangely was only thinking about it this morning and thinking how awful I'd feel if she caught one of the illnesses she should be immunised against by now. Am dreading the mmr, even though I KNOW it had nothing to do with ds1's problems. I am so paranoid these days. Ds2 is also about a year and a half late for his pre-school boosters.

Dd is doing my head in refusing to drink today. Have offered her every drink under the sun only to have them all thrown back at me (literally).

treedelivery · 05/05/2010 14:38

She's up!

Go-Go operation school run....

....crap I'm in my pj's.

moosemama · 05/05/2010 14:42

I just got changed out of my pj's about 20 minutes ago. Are you me? Or am I you?

hackneyzoo · 05/05/2010 14:55

This is the house DH and I looked around when were up in Newcastle....its huge and really cheap and full of potential and has been on the market for ages so culd probably make a silly offer.... oh but we don't have any money saved up.

Good luck with the cup cakes 120, my friend did her cupcakes for a friend's wedding out of a recipe from the Primrose Bakery Cook Book and they were good (I sampled her trial run )

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 05/05/2010 15:29

chatting ladies
no tumbleweed here

hkz - congrats

mm - only just out of pjs my godness lol i have a shower 1st thing

moosemama · 05/05/2010 17:18

So do I normally Tink. Am having a semi-duvet day today. Had shower and got dressed in time for school run instead as so tired and it tends to be pretty full on from 3.00 till bedtime round here.

Ds seems quite poorly now, bit of a temp and screamed the place down when I had to go back to the school to fetch ds1 from chess club. Got back to find her fast asleep on Mum's knee and she's been asleep on me ever since. Mum very kindly made the boys' tea and dd has just woken up, so am just going to sit and cuddle her for a while. Think she's coming down with the strange virus we've all had one after the other over bank-holiday weekend. Fortunately it seems fairly mild and short-lived, so am hoping she'll be better by tomorrow, especially as the boys have an INSET day due to the Election.

120 · 05/05/2010 18:06

moose sorry to hear about poorliness

victoria sponge would be great!

can't look at those houses as here a two bed house with a tiny garden/patio is 350-450k.

moosemama · 05/05/2010 18:19

House prices are ridiculous where we live as well 120. Can't get a shed for under £250k. Still, a girl can dream.

Came face to face with the woman that bought my dream (local) house when I went to fetch ds1 tonight. Its across the road from our house and is a £700,000 4 bed, with an in out drive, huge family kitchen, dining, living room, lounge, study, conservatory and really big, but low maintenance, garden (ie mostly lawn) which backs onto the boys school - so no roads to cross to get them to and from school every day. She seems really nice, which is a shame, as I really wanted to not like her.

Dd climbed off my knee briefly, so I ran into the kitchen and shoved in some jacket spuds for dh and I. Another thrilling culinary delight for us tonight then.

She is now climbing on and off my knee every two minutes, but crying if I try to actually do anything - although she seems happy enough for me to have the laptop on at least.

hackneyzoo · 05/05/2010 18:41

Oh moose, can I have a slice of your sponge? sending your house get well vibes. DS is a snotty mess this week and stillhas gunk inhis ear, seeing GP again on Friday.

Did another test just now and got a BFP 4-5 weeks...so have amade an appointment to see the nurse practitioner on Monday to get a referal to the MW...am very excited and slightly nervous and terrified...there's no room for another one....who's going to draw the short straw and have to travel on the roof of the car?

120 · 05/05/2010 18:45

waves some pom poms around for HZ

have followed trees advice and eaten shared the babies courgette risotto supper. yum. feeling marginally more human.

missjackson · 05/05/2010 18:52

hkz that's soooo exciting! Congratulations!

So my Grandfather died this morning at 6am, passed away in his sleep. Yesterday he was still conscious and enjoying his visitors, and now 24 hours later he is gone. Best way possible but he will be very much missed in this world . He was such a brilliant Grandfather; he was just in his early 50s when I was born, and I was his angel (first grandchild!) - he carried me everywhere on his shoulders and when we stayed there, I had to sleep with him all night long. He just adored us all and we adored him. In my sweet childhood naiveté I used to envy my mother for having my grandparents as parents!

Must go and cook as have Mum and brother coming for dinner.

Lenni · 05/05/2010 18:59

MissJ for you, but happy for him that it was peaceful and quick. Look after yourself.

Hkz, congratulations! Another January baby then? Hope you are not feeling too sick, eww the worst, remember it too well.

Will look at house links later on big puter, and brownies!!! Yay!

moosemama · 05/05/2010 19:01

MissJ, so sorry for your loss. As you say, its good that he passed peacefully and he was ready to go, but it doesn't make it any easier for those left behind. Take care of yourself. ((hugs))

moosemama · 05/05/2010 19:03

HKZ Congratulations!

120 · 05/05/2010 19:05

MJ, really sorry to hear that. Hope you are ok.

treedelivery · 05/05/2010 19:06

Oh MissJ. I'm sorry. He sounded fantastic.
