SirBoob so sorry to hear of your DP's loss. What a horrible, horrible shock it must be for everyone. Think we'd all understand if you can't come to the meet up tomorrow.

Meet up So looking forward to seeing you guys, if a little scared of the tube! See you tomorrow.

PavlovtheCat · 21/03/2010 20:45

remember photos from tomorrow please! I want to see all the babies together!

I meant to say, i went to a friend's little girl's christening today and it was lovely. Just lovely. The sun was out, it was in a beautiful little church, and afterwards my friend's mum did the most amazing spread of food, meat/veggie chilli and rice, meat/veggie lasagne, garlic bread, sarnies and buffet food for those not wanting hot food, and then the puddings etons mess, caramel tart, cheesecake, and christening cake!!! I ate a LOT! Reuben was held by most of the people there, even some men wanted to hold him, he performed like the perfect little baby, smiled, and cooed and made several women broody! I lovely day.

SirBoobAlot · 21/03/2010 21:00

Thank you... Have had a cry, a long hot shower, got some Norah Jones playing, and a rather large piece of coffee cake and am feeling a little better. Just can't believe it.

Raggie - I forgot to say. I elbowed Bryn in the nose yesterday He was fine, it was an accident, I don't feel too bad (possibly because of what we found out soon after, I'm not sure). It happens to everyone in some form or another sometime down the line. Hope you're not being too hard on yourself.

Pavlov talking of dreams... I managed to get an hour or so early this morning, and I had a dream about you. Well, your name really; it was on a giant roll of kitchen towel saying "PAVLOV'S PAPER" No idea where that came from!!

Really looking forward to seeing those of you that can make it tomorrow. We should definitely arrange something soon for months in advance so we can all make it!

SirBoob I'm so sorry to hear of DP's loss. What a shock for you all. I hope this doesn't knock him too badly.

DontWorryBaby · 21/03/2010 21:50

I too want to see photos of tomorrow's get together!

sirboob so sorry to hear your news, hope the family are ok x

Re dreams, I dreamt a few weeks ago that Ethan & I went to Raggie's for a visit & met Rosa. It's strange how much an online forum permeates real life!

PavlovtheCat · 21/03/2010 21:53

DWB yes indeed, in fact DD has a doll she now calls skylotti after she heard me mention her name to DH regarding our meetup!

hobnob57 · 21/03/2010 22:45

Evening girls! I hope you SE lot have a wonderful day tomorrow. Please have lots of cake on my behalf. Ooh, and a latte. Mmmm.

Sirboob that is terrible news. I always get a jolt of panic when I hear of sudden deaths abroad as my dad died when we were on holiday when I was 6. It's so horrible, and for the family to have to deal with the added complications of getting the body back home etc. it just adds to the trauma. I really hope that DP comes to terms with it all in a good way in his own time. And that you have the strength to be there for him.

dropping babies I think we'll all do it at some point. My mother dropped us several times on tarmac back in the days when moses baskets travelled in the back seat and she always managed to drop a handle when getting us out. DD1 has also fallen off the bed. Her most heart stopping moment was falling head first onto a concrete floor at the soft play when she was with the childminder. I'm glad I wasn't there. All I had to do was to admire her egg head! I've also dropped a friend's baby onto concrete when I picked up her car seat and the handle hadn't clicked in place and her DD wasn't strapped in . Very embarrassing and humiliating, but thankfully the wee soul was ok apart from a rather squashed nose and a big shock.

Schools sound so stressful. I'm so glad we live in a go-to-your-nearest-one area and that ours is fine. My heart goes out to you FP. Having just received DD1's first profile (report), I now understand parents so much better as a teacher and the worries you have about their education. And this is all based on the teacher's use of 'along' instead of 'a long'. It was lovely, thanks for asking sirboob. Lots of lovely photos and some of her drawings, one of which was of me looking distinctly like Mrs potato head, and descriptions of what she's been up to. Having a laugh, by the sounds of it.

Well, the formula thing isn't going so well. 1oz, 3oz then 3oz over 3 days which I suppose is good, but merry hell in terms of colic and tummy pains. No sleep for anyone here! The stuff we have isn't totally hypoallergenic, just mostly hyopallergenic so I'm off to the HV tomorrow to ask for the proper stuff. I'm silly really because I was offered it by the gastro and turned it down because the stuff DD1 had smelled and tasted better. Poor DD2 doesn't seem to be getting on with it at all, and to top it off has her 3 jabs tomorrow . We had a break from formula today so I hope things will be on the up for her now.

PavlovtheCat · 22/03/2010 07:31

wow a great sleep for us! 8:15pm to 1:30am, then 2am - 6:45am!!! Shame I did not sleep that amount though thanks to the cats who have decided they don't like their new food and woke me up at 4am to tell me thanks poosecats. But, i got more than normal so that is good.

I have discoloured breastmilk. Has anyone else had this? What does it mean? I woke this morning with a leaky boob and had not put any pads on (or in fact a bra!) as Reuben has been waking so often and I did not expect anything like a good sleep last night. Our white sheet has a large milk stain on it, and in the past this has been a 'clear' one. This time it is hinted with a brown/yellow (?) tinge, well bit more than a tinge. (i can't say for sure what the colour is as the light is off and DH is still asleep ,relying on hall light. I hope it means nothing. Reuben is feeding well, and happy, no tummy upset or anything, and my boobs are fine. Any advice is great, but i will also do another thread as you will all be off eating cake and drinking coffee together soon!

scarlotti · 22/03/2010 08:01

Morning all

Pav am touched your dd has a skylotti doll! My milk leaves slightly yellowy stains if it's more the hind milk that's leaking.

hobnob sorry to hear you're all still struggling with sleep and feeding, hope the new milk makes a difference. We have the 3rd set of jabs here Wed - not looking forward to it as he's been cold free for a while now but the jabs always throw him back

Ioan woke at 4am but didn't take much milk at all, in fact he didn't feed properly until about 6:30 Wonder if this is the start of changing night patterns? Please....?

Fruitpastels · 22/03/2010 08:56

Enjoy your day ladies! You have lovely weather for a day out.

DS1 had a fever last night. He was in our bed at 4.30am burning up. Now this is the time that DS2 decides he's going to be wide awake. But he slept until 7am . Poor DS1 was too hot to sleep in with us, so I layed him on the sofa and put the TV on for him. Calpol is wonderful stuff, he seems much brighter at the moment.

So pleased DH is home We talked it over about the school. I'm booking an appointment this week for us to see the school. I will be glad to get the ball rolling and have more of an idea about our options.

Looks like I'm stuck in today DS1 has passed out asleep next to me - poor chap.

It feels like Spring is here!

Laugs · 22/03/2010 09:17

I'm glad your DH is back too FP, it's hard to deal with things like that on your own - you need someone to bounce ideas/ concerns off.

Have a lovely meet up London ladies! I am extremely jealous! Look forward to seeing the pics and hearing the gossip.

It feels like spring here too. We're off to the park for a play.

DD and I did the Sport Relief Mile yesterday. We hadn't planned to, but turned up at the park and it was on (It's one of the flagship parks, so it was a big deal) and we decided to take part. I was in a skirt and ballet pumps (oh and can't run), so luckily only had to go at DD's pace, but I felt so proud of her and all the people cheering her on from the sidelines made me want to cry!

scarlotti · 22/03/2010 09:23

Fruit your poor DS hope he feels better soon. Yay for your DH being home. Good idea re the school, keep an open mind as you never know you might be pleasantly surprised.

Laugs well done on your sport relief mile and for your dd

welcome bluecardi

Right, washing on the airer and then it's off to the station to get the train - on my way London ladies!!

bluecardi · 22/03/2010 09:34

Hello! Just busy here with my other kids & my little dd!

She had her first vaccinations last week & so far no temperature. I'm bf & co-sleeping. So far she can sleep 5hrs at night in one block so hopefully I'll be getting a bit more rest.

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/03/2010 09:51

Have a nice day today meeting up people!

Fruit I hope your DS feels better soon.

Hello bluecardi!

I'm so tired today. DS2 back at nursery and DS3 getting better (spots all crusted over now and shredding like mad all over the house!).

I should be cleaning the bathrooms, not sitting here. Sigh. Energy! Energy! Give me some now!

I like the dreams: Pav's paper! ha ha ha! I dream I'm on mumsnet all the time but I haven't dreamt about meeting anyone. I'd love to meet some of you guys. Come to Shrewsbury! It is lovely here!

wook · 22/03/2010 10:06

photos asap please!!!

Fruitpastels · 22/03/2010 10:11

Glad to hear your babies are on the mend BBL. I'm worried that DS1 might be coming down with chicken pox. Pre-school have had some recent cases. He's been unwell for a week with sniffles and changed for the worse yesterday with the high temperature. I'll check him over when he wakes up. I hear Shrewsbury is a lovely part of the country. My MIL lived there for a short time. I never visited her as DS1 was very small and she had a million cats in her house (i'm highly allergic to cat hair!) She has relocated to London to be near us, with just the one cat thankfully.

Booked the school appointment with the Head. We go next week.

Both my DS' are sleeping. I've just made myself a fruit smoothie and a bagel - yum!

Laugs · 22/03/2010 12:40

Hey it's quiet today with all the Londoners otherwise engaged!

Is DS1 feeling any better FP?
I'm glad Toby is on the mend BBL.

I meant to ask, BBL and Ninja, are you feeling any better this week?

wook · 22/03/2010 12:44

Fruit seeing the head is a great idea- make sure you get to have a good look around while lessons are in progress- don't let him/her hide you in his/her office. You need to see into the classrooms.

Trikken · 22/03/2010 12:55

welcome bluecardi

Hope everyone has fun meeting up! again am looking forward to seeing the pics.

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/03/2010 13:01

Laugs I have ups and downs. I was very anxious and down last week and put that down to PMT and chicken pox. My sleep issues are ongoing and I am getting really fed up of it now. I've been using homeopathy and hypnotherapy with a lot of success but I am not sleeping normally by any means. Last night I thought I slept reasonably well but feel like I've had about 2 hours. I really don't know what's going on in my body. I feel a bit better this week generally though and trying to keep positive, keep active, keep looking to the future when things will be better. I hope you are ok Ninja.

I hope the Londoners are enjoying their lunch

weston · 22/03/2010 13:13

hi everyone, hope meet up was fab
i need to start other activites bar shopping, spending a fortune in the shops...a whole new person to add to me retail addiction...she has woken up food time

tigger32 · 22/03/2010 15:52

Hi all and welcome to bluecardi how many children do you have?

I feel very of all those meeting up today, I hope you have a fab time

Well I've been to Boots and brought new bowls, spoons and baby rice ready to start weaning. However Henry has woken from his nap with a cold

laugs yeah for your dd and you doing the sports relief mile.

fruit hope yours ds feels better soon.

pav If I'm correct, I think breast milk can change colour depending on time of day and fat content, a yellowy tinge is perfectly normal. I will go and check in my breast feeding bible though and get back to you.
