Ruby I am laughing at our post 6 seconds apart.

princessmel · 13/05/2010 21:27

Hello all

I am fine, thank you for thinking about me
I have been feeling better the last few days, for some reason I am happier with my hair and my face... (so shallow, but that's how it is) no idea why. F has not done a 'feed every 2 hours' night for a few days so maybe that has something to do with it.

I have been having trouble with my laptop (the lead isn't charging it) the last few days, so not been able to get online as much.

Today F and I went shopping all day! My friend came with me for the first bit then she had to leave to collect her ds, so we stayed by ourselves. I bought skinny jeans, jeggins, 2 tops a denim skirt, make up and some more feeding bras!! I lost my white bf bra a week or so ago, sooo annoying. I think I binned it by mistake when I binned a shirt of dh's. They were on the airer next to each other.
F has got a terrible cold. It came on overnight. Literally overnight, he had no cold atall yesterday. But today coughing and sneezing and a streeeeeaming nose.

He is doing better with his food (blw and the odd bit of mushed rusk and yoghurts...dh isn't as comfy doing blw as me so he's been doing spoons too). I know this because the last few days I've seen 'shapes' in his poo!!! Yesterday he ate a whole pear at swimming. He held it (I helped a bit) and gwawed it down to the stringy bit in the middle.
He's also eaten some chips, mash (off a spoon and his fingers), cooked carrot, cauliflour, roast pots and parsnip, a bit of chicken, peach, rice cake with soft cheese on and some of my club sandwich today!!

fidelma wow at Conners eating!! F is only having teeny amounts at the mo

ruby Yay for the good nights! Ds1 is an early riser so I know how you feel.

iggly Woohoo!! for the crawling! So fab...the dc's will be so happy when F can crawl, they ask all the time 'when is he going to talk' etc

HC I bet you'll look gorge in your skirt. What's the top like??

Can't remember anymore personals and want to press 'post' before the laptop crashes.
Take care everyone xxxxxx

princessmel · 13/05/2010 21:31

Oh yes hc..the feeding Poor you , I'd be upset too.
I do think the distraction thing could be part of it. F can get distracted these days. I have to make sure he really wants to feed or he turns away a lot.
Also if you're feeding less your boobs may be fuller and then maybe the milk may come out quicker and that might upset him. That def makes F cough, splutter and get a lot of wind.

(hugs)

littlepea72 · 14/05/2010 13:01

Hey

Does anyone else have a problem with feeds, as in mashing them up? Faith is sick when she gets them any other way than puree. I thought she would do the choking part, but she is always really sick. Plus she wont eat finger foods, not even putting them near her mouth. She is now over 7 months, so I thought she would be doing it all by now.

Just packed up the living room, its so bare looking now 1 room closer!

We have been married for 7 years today, and i could of killed him every single one of those lol....we are having take away tonight, happy days, cant cook wont cook today!!! lol....

HumphreysCorner · 14/05/2010 14:24

Happy Anniversary littlepea. No 7 year itch for you then?

princessmel-sorry to hear F has a cold. M is still bunged up. My boobs aren't ever full anymore that's why I think the milk is drying up. Not being strange or anything I did notice that the mum's at my BF course all have huge boobs but mine are miniscule. Although they never get too big even when PG. They wondered if it was distraction that is putting him off. In the class he did try to latch on but there was too much going on. When he woke this morning I offered him a feed, cue usual screaming and pulling away. Put him back in his cot then tried again 30 mins later and he fed a bit. Will persevere. Bah to your laptop, my old one did that so had to invest in a new one. Glad you are feeling brighter today.

ruby-am not giving M fromage frais for a few days so will see if the sickness stops.

fidelma-hope you are OK. Have had to invite DD1's friend for tea next Thursday and am hoping this will keep her quiet for a while. At dancing I was talking to a little girls grandma about playdates and she asked what one was. When I explained she said her daughter says no as she has a 3 year old to look after so couldn't manage to look after the 6 year old, play friend and the 3 year old. Will have to try that one.

Day 2 of the migraine, just another 2 to go....

M has pooed so need to go and change him.

Laters! Hi to everyone else.

Happy anniversary littlepea have a good evening.

HC,oh no not another migraine, hope you feel better soon. They do get distracted a lot during the day I hope his nursing strike ends soon.Have you thought of expressing some milk to keep it going until he starts feeding more?

princessmel glad you`re feeling more happy and had a good shopping trip.Retail therapy always works wonders .

iggly yay for commando crawl.Nathaniel seems slow on movement part and still not sitting on his own.

Sleeping still nightmare here and he`s full of cold, temperature and now conjunctivitis too,its never ending.Got only about 5 hours sleep last nigh and am exhauted will be off to bed soon.
Hello to everyone else xxx

princessmel · 14/05/2010 21:46

Evening ladies

hc do you think M could have a sore throat? maybe that's why he doesn't want to feed...? I don't think know the size of your boobs don't make any difference to the ammount of milk you have so I wouldn't worry if they don't seem very full.
F deffo gets distracted in the day. Plus he is much quicker now so he is physically at the breast less iykwim.

littlepea don't forget that F is still only teeny and 7 months is very young, she'll get the hang of finger foods in the end. I would wait a while and try her again later.
It's funny cos F is the opposite and only does finger food...not puree!! Today he had cheese on toast and a peach at lunchtime. lol!! (sucked and gummed it and swallowed teeny bits)
Happy Anniversary btw

Laptop fixed atm, dh spent ages with his screwdriver and it's currently working...

Night night everyone xx

princessmel · 14/05/2010 21:47

doesn't ^

fidelma · 14/05/2010 21:51

Ahhhh BellaHT the sleep is also driving me mad.I was Ok with it until a few weeks ago.I have now had enough and I want to sleep otherwise I am going to look 60 by the time I am 40 !!

HC I hope you are on the mend.Things I have given up doing since having Connor.I dont wrap any presents. They are all put into thoes pressent bags (Which I save when someone gives me one,I haven't bought one)I then chuck some tissue paper on the top.Job done
Re play dates I let dd2 have a wee friend round tonight and DH melted down because there was another child in the garden and he couldn't relax fgs.que quite a few arguments I am pretty easy going so not what I want on a Friday night.Sadly I need to be the bigger one and make the piece
Oh and I didn't make his dinner que sad hungry irational husband.
It didn't help him that I had a little party here today for my grandmother she was 86So I put lots of effort into that and not into him.Bad exhaustedwife
Oh well tomorrow is another day.

fidelma · 14/05/2010 21:54

Littlepea Happy anniversary. And yeha for the packing.x

HumphreysCorner · 14/05/2010 22:06

I do think M is teething and he does have a chesty cough. Perhaps both things are contributing to the strike. Good idea to express to keep supply up. When he does a little latch on I keep wondering if it will be the last one.

fidelma-you must be shattered and boo to your DH. DD1 went to play at another friend's house tonight. Luckily my DH comes home well after the friends have left.

Night ladies.

CalypsoFramboise · 15/05/2010 09:07

hello all,
Sorry to hear there are many colds / teething pains and sleeping woes abound here, A has a really runny nose but ONLY when she's eating - I wonder if she's developed an allergy to the cats? Its the only time she spends in the kitchen where they hang out...?

Off on holiday for 10days tonight, Corsica and Pyrenees, but the weather looks like here so won't pack so much v summery clothing! I hope I can get all we need into our tiny luggage allowance, hate RyanAir {sigh}

Ciao bellas, look forward to catching up when I get back x

HumphreysCorner · 15/05/2010 19:45

Have a lovely time. Loved Corsica when I went a few years ago.

M is managing a few feeds and I feel my milk is improving. Was sick again but this was after a huge coughing fit. He has a lot of phlegm.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Quick rant-went to visit PIL and DH said about us considering No4 and MIL said we were too old and were too old to even have had M. I said that there was a mum of 43 with her first at my BF course who met her DH in her late 30's. I said to MIL what was she supposed to do, not have any children and MIL said no, not at 43.

HC
x

littlepea72 · 15/05/2010 20:25

HC I wouldnt tell them anything, if you want to go for no4 then go for it, if she says anything, tell her to butt out! If you can get pregnant, then your not too old to have children, ohhhhhh I do hate people like your MIL You go for it girl...rub her nose in it!! LOL...

Calypso sounds like it could be the cats, my DS also has a mild allergy to cats, but I still let our cat Bob sleep with him, and it is getting better. I always think that the more he is around him, the less his nose runs. It was the doctor at the hospital that told me not to keep them apart.

Off to bed...DH is at a dine in tonight, so ive got the bed for myself

fidelma · 15/05/2010 22:24

HC My grandma said to me after dc3 that I must not have any more as I was too old I was 31 at the time We are now ancient so definetly no more. (actually if dh would be up for it I would have another) But that will never happen I guess I would never stop.

The duck race was fantastic they tipped 300 yellow ducks into our burn in the village. The sun was shinning and either side of the burn was heavy with cherry blossom both on the trees and on the ground. The burnside was full of familiar faces. The older children were in the burn helping the ducks down (as we haven't had much rain)All the wives were wispering to their dh to let them know who everyone was.The men missing the coffee circuit and stitch n bitch sessions can't always place everyone. And of course lots of good friends. We all meet at the bottom for a bbq, cups of tea, craft sale and touch rugby games and lots of chat about our new government.the children run around playing with school friends and begging for more money to buy craft rubbish, which will be cherrished for a few days then lie around the house for the next 2 years !some parents dash off to watch their sons playing cricket.(they try and pretend that they have been there for ages not just 10 mins!)I walked my 4 back up the now quiet burnside stopping to have blossom fights.A perfect village day.

littlepea72 · 16/05/2010 06:52

Fidelma village life sounds wonderful! It sounded like a perfect day
LOL....at your grandmother saying you were past it at 31! I only had my first at 31 but i suppose in her day, it was really old to be having kids.

Off out for the morning. Its my DS's 6th birthday on Wednesday and 4 of my friends are joining us with their kids, we are going to big indoor play area....they do the best German cake there!!!

Have a great weekend!!

fidelma · 16/05/2010 07:21

Littlepea Have fun and enjoy the cake How long now until you come home ?

Connor sleeping better again.Last night I was up once and the night before not at all [gasp] I think having him in a sleeping bag helps. How are all the others sleeping now ?

I think we are going swimming aand then having a big brunch it is soooooo helpful to have 1 meal out at the weekend.I am constantly cleanning the kitchen

The little boys are up but the girls are in bed.Maybe in a few years I will also be in bed {dreams of long lazy sleep) (if I can remember how to do it lol)

Laters x

BellaCullen · 16/05/2010 11:34

fidelma what aperfect village day you had yesterday.I want to live in a village not sure where though but definitely want to move further out from London some day.Have a good day today, know what you mean about constantly cleaning the kitchen its a pain.

Calypso have a great time hope you managed to fly off yesterday.

HC dont tell anything to your MIL,its your decision whether to have n4 or not,its your body and long as youre fit and healthy go for it.Why does she think shes a right to say anything. My SIL always goes on asking whether well have another and if we do we should have another close to N as the others are such a big gap.She wouldnt come round to see that one either anyway so why does she bother asking. Well we wont be having n4 anytime soon if at all.Am happy with 3 and far to sleep deprived to be broody in anyway.

HC glad hes managing a few feeds and hope hes feeling better soon.N was sick 3 times yesterday after coughing fits, its horrible when theyre ill.

Littlepea have a good time at soft play and enjoy german cake.Ooh,want some too so .

Wave to everyone else and hope you all have a good sunday.xxx

rubyslippers · 16/05/2010 15:36

yoo hoo ladies!

Am back from my trip away so am in the midst of unpacking and laundry and general sorting

will catch up later x

Igglybuff · 16/05/2010 19:09

hi just marking a spot for catch up later as dinner is nearly ready and W is tucked up in bed! hope you had a good trip ruby.

HappyTangerine · 17/05/2010 02:09

Hiya
HC-how is migraine now? Glad Matthew is eating a little and that you feel happier about your milk. As to your MIL=ignore her, its none of her business what you and dh do, you're your own littlr family and if you want to add to it, go for it. As for age-my nan was 45 or 46 when she had her last (she had 13!).We are starting to tentatively think about no2.

ruby welcome back! How was it?

Calypso You won't see this but have a fantastic holiday

Bella Poor Nathaniel, I really hope he starts to feel better soon. Its awful when they have a cough and are so bunged up, really knocks the stuffing put of them.

fidelma Ah, village life and duck race sounds lovely. We went to a part of our area that was a bit out of the way yesterday to have a mooch round a boot sale. The townies always make fun of the people from here because its so out of the way but I loved it, real villagey feel to it.

littlepea Cake

We pottered about this weekend, nice to be out rather than me doo my usual battle with the housework and ironing. Nothing seems to get done when you've a baby that doesn't want to be put down and Joe seems to hate the Manduca. Weaning going ok-he doesn't seem to produce v heavy nappies in the daytime atm (1st morning one is v heavy)so not sure if I should be concerned? Am offering water with each meal and frequent bf. Sleep seems dependant on how much pain the tooth is giving him but he did go in his cot for a bit last night! Dh and I were like this --->.

Suppose I should try and sleep-am really anxious at the moment and don't know why, also beating myself up about being rubbish wife and mother. Maybe its the sleep deprivation.. And rather fittingly, my next door neighbour is once again playing Susan Boyle "I dreamed a dream" AGAIN-yes at 2am. My next house is going to be detatched. Please remind me of this often, in case I fall in love with an old Victorian semi.

Waves to everyone x

HappyTangerine · 17/05/2010 02:13

Sorry fo typos-am typing in low light

littlepea72 · 17/05/2010 05:12

HT im so with you on the sleep thing but at least I dont have Susan singing at me through the walls lol...when you go house hunting, take ipod with it playing, should stop you!!! As for thinking you are a bad mother etc, dont, its the sleep

Faith is going backwards with sleeping. Goes down at 7pm, and starts crying only the minute I go to bed , never before, never after. Then she moans & cries every other hour, I swear the monitors are going to fly! She then decides she wants up at 4.45am every morning, unless I can get to her quick enough for a bottle, but by then Im awake Im soooo tired. DH just says things like, well you had to have another baby....grrrrrrr.....

Another 15 sleeps untill we move, so much to do, and WAS looking forward to it, untill MIL was on phone last night (lucky I was giving bottle to Faith, so could speak ), but DS put her on loud speaker, and she was coming off with you cant bring your favorite toys here, I hate them, you cant play with them etc.....WTF!!! Now I remember why I wanted to move abroad in the first place lol....

Smallone hope you are still about, how are you??

HC how is the head??

Hi to everyone else!!

HumphreysCorner · 17/05/2010 11:15

Hi all

Migraine gone only to be replaced by my first AF since Dec 25th 2008. That must be why it was a particularly bad one as it was a pre AF one. As I was temping when TTC M I am itching to plot CD1 on my FF chart.

HT-ooh No2, v. exciting. Why on earth are your neighbours up at 2am? Can you report them to the council?

littlepea-not long to go.

Welcome back ruby.

Are you OK today princessmel? Scout-when are you due back?

Bella-M hasn't been sick since Saturday, how is N doing?

Meant to say that when we went to MIL's Matthew screamed when she spoke to him then this morning he did it to the Head and the school secretary.

Hi to everyone else. Better hoover as the electricity is off tomorrow between 8am and 4pm. Going to sit in the caravan so I can cook on gas and listen to the radio.
