Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

oh my! i'm watching C4.. i don't think i'd be brave enough to try for a girl if i already had 8 boys! the thought of nine kids

pulapancake · 04/02/2010 21:27

Fi- I'm watching C4 too. I know I am not brave enough either. I would love another DD (and I was disappointed when the scan showed S was a boy) so I know I would be disappointed again if I had a DS3. I was reading a thread on here the other night about it, and saying how dreadful people were to want one sex of baby so much, especially when some people have fertility problems, but I can't help how I feel. I know I have my DD, but I still get [jealous] of people with 2 DDs (terrible I know ).

llareggub · 04/02/2010 21:45

How does she keep such an immaculate house with 4 boys?

FiByTheIcySea · 04/02/2010 21:53

pula it must be hard for them to desperately want and have no control over it. no one can help how they feel. i would love another dc but it'll only happen if it's an accident i think because we're both getting on and not sure i would plan another pregnancy with cs #3. if we did have a happy accident i have to admit this time i'd not find out at 20wks and have a surprise as i'd be delighted with either

llareggub · 04/02/2010 22:03

I think I'm the opposite to her. Having had 2 boys, I think I'd actively want another boy. Although a girl would be lovely, I'd quite like the dynamics of having a houseful of boys. Though thinking about it, it is probably a load of old codswallop to think that gender shapes personality much.

There is a mother at school with 4 boys and rumour has it she always wanted a girl.

Looks like I missed something interesting while watching Silent Witness.
I do have a friend who genuinely was desperate for a girl and ended up with 4 boys. She was always jealous of me having dd1 and then of course doubly so when C came along. She had a very chaotic house and whenever I came back from her or after she visited me I had just sit down and catch my breath for a bit.
Personally I really wasn't bothered about the sex, especially with C. In fact I was convinced C was a boy, so I had a shock when they announced she was a girl

fi C does the head side to side thrashing too when she's tired. If I'm holding her in my arms she likes to throw herself backwards too when she's tired. Your bath sounded blissfully nice btw

FiByTheIcySea · 04/02/2010 22:13

can i confess some girly shopping though
i have bought two sewing patterns.. this one and for when G is a bit older i also have my eye on these 2.. lovely coat and this lovely dress.. now to just find some time! before i'd found the pettiskirt pattern i'd already won a white one on ebay for £12 which fits 9m - 2yrs! should get our moneys worth i think!

llareggub · 04/02/2010 22:15

fi All those girly things are so lovely. I absolutely love the petticoat skirt and that coat... fantastic. You're so clever that you can make those things yourself! I really want to learn how to sew one day. My mum used to make clothes for us all the time when we were little.

belgina · 04/02/2010 22:23

Never watched Brothers and sisters, so no idea what you're talking about

Off to bed now. Hope everyone has got a good one. dandy Hope ds is better tonight too. It's never nice to have los being ill.

FiByTheIcySea · 04/02/2010 22:25

I never got into brothers and sisters for some reason
grrr i should go to bed as DS gets up at silly o clock in the am

llareggub · 04/02/2010 22:27

I agree, Dandy. I would have preferred a bit more on the politics front. Actually, what I'd really like is for Rob Lowe to get back to the West Wing and shoot another series.

I've been to the gym but skipped the swim and just did the treadmill. I can't believe how good the "couch to 5k" programme is. Three weeks in and it has me running 3k. I highly recommend it. I've never, ever been a runner!

flippinegg · 04/02/2010 22:29

dandy - hope you get a better night tonight. Actually, everyone - hope you have good nights tonight.

A settled ok this evening, and hasn't woken yet. She seemed a bt less snotty today, but won't let me look in her mouth for teeth. She is super clingy though, hard work!

I'm still looking bruised, people keep looking slightly horrified when they see my face. Oh, maybe that's nothing to do with the bruising. Can't remember who mentioned arnica cream? I'm already taking the tablets, I might try the cream too though to speed things up.

FiByTheIcySea · 04/02/2010 22:43

dandy you've not missed any nova scotia posts.. we're in a bit of limbo waiting game atm.. we need to go to NS and meet with the RDA people who'd have to support our application before they'd consider doing that . so we need to save enough to cover our recce trip , pr visa application and medicals. then we have to sell our flat to go through the visa process as we need unencumbered funds before we fulfil all the pr visa criteria.. i know that selling our flat will be the longest part.. the application once supported by the RDA normally takes 6-9M. sorry takes ages to post.. i'm on my phone atm. fingers crossed i love NS in may and we'll be settled there by sept 2011 when DS would be due to start school there. they start at age 5 not 4 as DS will be here this sept in reception.

FiByTheIcySea · 04/02/2010 22:50

flippin ow ow ow (but gentle ones)
llare i'm so in awe! but I'd be in fear of black eyes running!! i'm still in 'K' cup bras

youngerthanspringtime · 04/02/2010 22:58

Hi all. anyone still around?

I've always wanted to be a Brothers &Sisters fan since I loved Thirtysomething (same producers?) but never got round to watching it.

boys, I always wanted boys and only boys and here I've got 3 girls. I hate to admit I was disappointed but of course love my girls to death. does that sound horrible? we'd have tried for another but I'm sure we'd have another girls.

hi jennster!

flippin, hope your bruising heals quicker than it feels. does it hurt?

belgina, pula, what is 'pick up/put down'? is it a baby Whisperer thing? I can't remember.

Dandy, hope your family gets well soon and you sleep better tonight.

sleep, last night was a 'good' night only being woken up about 5x. i'm also snapping at the DD's in the morning (empathy with dandy) as the broken sleep catches up with me from time to time.

speaking of sleep, I should be going to bed instead of staring at this laptop screen.

youngerthanspringtime · 04/02/2010 23:04

night Fi!

FiByTheIcySea · 04/02/2010 23:09

btw before i head to the land of nod.. one last link.. the pettiskirt i won on ebay i'll let you know what the quality of it is like as this seller makes and sells them in all sizes and colours and has loads and loads available all the time.. it's coming from hong kong so might be end of next wk at the earliest..

FiByTheIcySea · 04/02/2010 23:14
