Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
runningmonkey · 21/01/2010 20:42

just back from run aaargh I'm knackered but really enjoyed myself.

Hiya HtheH welcome back. So glad to hear you and M are doing well. A really good friend of mine had a little boy in September and chose the same name as you, it really is lovely.

Fi nice tops, I partic like the Esprit one, shame they're out of stock in my size

younger I feel a bit discombobulated by your new name, not used to it yet

llare I dare you to enter the competition to 'help the hunk' pink the car!

Off for a shower, I pong. Have a good evening ladies x

HtheH · 21/01/2010 20:54

It is good to be back! Hearing about all your running makes me feel guilty. I joined the gym and have hardly been and have realised how unfit I have got. I went to a Buddha Babies class with M on Monday thinking it would be a nice relaxing class aimed at the baby. It was actually yoga for mums using the baby as an extra weight! M is 21 pounds and was the biggest baby there by far, my legs still ache!!!
Must try and get fitter. I do a lot of walking, but the idea of running terrifies me! Thinking of trying for number 2, and I really don't want to be as lazy as I was when pregnant before. I ended up gaining over 6 stone! Have managed to get most of it off, but this last stone is a stubborn one. I bet all of you are as svelte and fit as before. Maybe you lot could inspire me! I am so greedy and lazy!

belgina · 21/01/2010 21:01

Evening all,

Hi HTH Welcome back. It'll be impossible to catch up with all the threads, but do jump back in and join the fun

fi They're all nice tops, I particularly like no 2&3. 1 might be a bit too plain and 4 I'd be nervous about the low back and bras showing etc...

younger I wouldn't have recognised you Lol at H enjoying the washing machine. C likes the telly, this week she especially liked the cooking bit on This Morning

running You're finally being true to your name again. Enjoy your shower and a nice cuppa or something.

llare Amazing what he's doing. Always makes me feel a bit old when I see the los I used to babysit now all grown up and driving a car and everything.

long naps I was today at C, cos she also had a mamoth nap after swimming. She missed her lunch and everything. We go swimming from 10.30-11, then by the time we're dressed and home it's about 12. She didn't really go to sleep in the car as expected. BF her when we got home because she was clearly very tired due to no morning nap. She fell asleep around 12.30 and slept until 3 and this from a notorious catnapper! The swimming must have worn her out.

Oh and I think C might be constipated too. TMI, but she hasn't been since the weekend. She's not straining or complaining or anything, though. I think I'll get some prunejuice or applejuice tomorrow and see it that get her going.

Another TMI that's a bit funny too. DH seems to have understood what I tried to say about doing the deed and stuff. Anyway, I think last night he tried to...you know... be friendly and tried to fiddle with my nipples (through nighty), only he was feeling around about an inch too high, because my nips aren't really where they used to be . It did make me laugh though. It seems to have been so long that my DH can't his way around anymore, lol.

llareggub · 21/01/2010 21:12

belgina I thought you were going to say that he got a squirt of breastmilk!

belgina · 21/01/2010 21:17

Lol, llare it was even worse. They've definitely moved way south since last time he tried to find them

febes · 21/01/2010 21:26

Mmmmmmmmm that goulash is darn fine llare I'll definately be making that again. I'll give the left overs to the DCs for lunch tomorrow.

HtoH welcome back!!

essenceofSES · 21/01/2010 21:32

Hello!

Struggling to get on daily regularly to keep up!

Thanks for all the congrats for DB. No definite date yet but possibly later this year!
running - dishy plumber!!! We could request a return from sexy builder too!

Febes - great news that DD and DS sharing is working. Hope your appointment in Feb comes round quickly and you feel better soon. We really should arrange to meet up again before I go back to work!

Belgina - where would be good for a meet up for you?
I thought you were going to say he got milk too!

HtheH - welcome back! Sounds like M is doing really well. I can totally relate to what you say about all the struggling ttc and mcs being worth it. Also about the tension sometimes with DH. It's not always easy but I wouldn't change it!

Blotted - that sounds a bit dramatic and not nice at all. Glad you're doing better. I may go and -stalk-- hunt you on FB too...!

Fi - tops look great but I'm of being able to wear fitted stuff as my jelly belly just sticks out

younger - cute image of H in front of the washing machine
Love the new name too!

LadyH - sounds like you had a good day!

FiByTheIcySea · 21/01/2010 21:37

belgina you did make me lol re dh's fondling

FiByTheIcySea · 21/01/2010 21:50

ses I too have a bit of an... erhmm how to i describe it... tummy... apron/overhang?! luckily though with the addition of body shaper tum & bum tights it kinda holds it all in and if i pull them right up as far as i can... they kinda help my midriff too. I think my huge norks kinda over shadow the lumpy bits too making the fitted shapes a better look for me too on the whole. At some stage I really must shift this extra 13lbs of G weight though as I know i'll feel heaps better and less lumpy!

llareggub · 21/01/2010 21:52

Fi, I've got that tummy problem too. Always have, even when I was swimming twice a day, every day as a teenager. I've read that it is genetic, and that is what I choose to believe!

essenceofSES · 21/01/2010 21:53

Fi -
Any recommendations on the body shaper tights?!

belgina · 21/01/2010 22:06

Ses Maybe we can discuss a meet on the F/B page. Check where we live and pick somewhere nice in the middle

tummy It's also always been my bad point, despite being a waif as a teen I still had a bit of a sticky out tummy. DH's first memory is me in the hotel pool pulling up my bikini bottoms over my belly to try and hide it Unsuccessfully of course

FiByTheIcySea · 21/01/2010 22:26

I like the marks body shaper ones... atm i'm wearing the heavy duty Bodysensor? 40 Denier Opaque Bodyshaper Tights but the lighter denier ones are good too... llare i'm adopting the it's genetic reason lol

belgina · 21/01/2010 22:38

ses and anyone else that might be interested. I've started a f/b discussion to organise a Kent/Surry meet (anyone else is of course very much welcome )

Right, still got to make the dcs lunch for tomorrow and then off to bed. Goodnight everyone. I hope those babies behave themselves tonight

FiByTheIcySea · 21/01/2010 22:43

i'm off to bed too belgina night night all x

youngerthanspringtime · 22/01/2010 06:32

morning all. dd's still asleep but I can't. dh came home from work last night, thought he's sleep better at home but then he couldn't sleep so left for work about 4.30. I feel sorry for him, pressures at work, not seeing us much, long commute, etc. there is defn a job change in the cards for him this year.

at least he got to give dd's a cuddle when they woke up the 1st time at 1am. they woke up again at 5am when he'd left and dd1 was inconsolable for daddy. i think she's feeling his stress . though i've had rubbish sleep, I'm going to do my best to be gentle with them today (usually my temper is thin). am going to discount housework today well, I discount it everyday but today I just won't get upset about it .

ses, how's pup? is she fitting in ok? are you going to puppy classes?

tummy, I've got a flabby one as well not helped from 3 pregnancies in quick succession. because I can't be bothered to buy jeans that fit, i suck in and wear my pre-preg/children ones which give me the muffin effect. i've tried Spanx which is good but £35 which i thought was a lot. would've liked to try the M&S ones Fi.

llare, think it is genetic. my mum is a small-stature person, was skinny but big around the middle. oh wait, she had 12 children which may have contributed to that tummy .

belg, I'll come meet you, though York is a bit away from you all... i wish it were easier to see everyone. sigh. if i'm ever travelling close to any of you, i'll let you know.

it's raining today, mild. we're going to waterproof ourselves and go to playgroup. what is everyone else doing?

can hear a happy little baby chatting to herself so am going to top up my coffee before getting her. hope you're all well.

youngerthanspringtime · 22/01/2010 06:38

belgina, meant to say at your earlier post on 'moving south'.. hahaha!

running, I'm not sure about my springtime name. i just couldn't think of anything to do with 'momi'. i'm not too comfortable in it yet and may just change back to momino as that is how you all know me. i'll keep this on for awhile but please feel free to address me as 'momino'.

FiByTheIcySea · 22/01/2010 07:45

morning momino been awake since 5.30am with ds.. G woke at 6.30am so headed to the lounge & milkshake on 5. i'd forgotten you had so many siblings

FiByTheIcySea · 22/01/2010 08:30

momino your dh's job & commute sounds exhausting

febes · 22/01/2010 08:53

Morning!!

BelginaSes I've put my available dates for surrey/kent meet up. Theres not many I seem to be quite busy for the next few weeks. I'm really looking forward to it.

Swineflujabs Glad to hear some of your DCs have had them and they were fine. I have booked mine in for Tuesday. When the Nurse rang I wasn't sure as I hadn't researched it but it seems like a good idea from what I have read.

MummyTummy

Momi Poor DH it sounds very tiring and stressful (for you too).

I'm off to soft play today as its raining and I need to run some energy off these kids.

Tummum · 22/01/2010 08:56

Morning all. Day off today so I have some time to read through what's going on.

FI love your tops. I really like Phase 8 stuff, I think it's designed for real women with real norks ! Like Momi I have some spanx I use for special occasions. They are great

Llare very impressive running

Momi poor DH (and poor you for managing around his job). Sounds tricky.

Belgina LOL at aprons. I have always have an apron I have needed to tuck into my trousers . Tis the joy of having babies !

Well, work is still the same as ever. This week I was working in the evening for 2-3 hours every night but tonight I WILL NOT ! I was also asked to do some work or come into the office today, but I refused. Got lots of grief for it, but I don't care. They don't care about me, so I don't care about them. I have a meeting next Friday about a potential business opportunity which will also mean me spending more time with DC, so keeping my fingers crossed for that. I am also considering training to be an executive and life coach, as I think I have the skills and experience to make a living out of this too. I'm going on a training course in the next couple of months to see what it's all about.

We are off to sunny Cardiff this weekend to see some lovely friends. Hope you all have a nice weekend too.x

flippinegg · 22/01/2010 09:09

Morning all!

Momino/Springtime - like the new name. It must be hard for you all if your DH is stressed and struggling with work.

belgina - lol at nipple location!

HtheH - welcome back! lovely to see you again.

fi - nice tops!

I need new clothes, most of my tops are too short for me now, the distance between my shoulders and my hips seems considerably longer now. Oh wait, that'll be all the boobage and tyres clothes have to get over! I've never had a flat stomach in my life, but it's never been quite this saggy before, even when I was a lot a bit heavier than I am now. That'll be all the babies and biscuits.

My girls haven't been called for their swine flu jabs yet, I don't know what's going on round here. DH had his before Christmas (he's asthmatic).

Last night was interesting! Could not get A to settle at all at bed time, she'd nod off onme then wake up so we gave and brought her downstairs, she spent the whole evening trying to walk round the living room with the toddle truck , happy as anything. It was very cute, she was toddling and talking to us. Eventually crashed out about 10.30, slept until 4, came into bed with us, had a feed and slept until 7:15.

flippinegg · 22/01/2010 09:15

tummmum - life coach sounds interesting! If you need any guinea pigs...

I emailed my boss this week about going back to work. I'm fairly sure that I'm not going back, but I need to hear what they've got to say for themselves before I commit to anything. Anyway, she's on holiday for a couple of weeks, I got passed to someone else who has just ignored me, they're off to a good start!!

Kent/Surrey people - if you feel like venturing into London, I could meet you too? Or any Londoners?

HeadlessLadyH · 22/01/2010 09:34

Morning all.

Just listening to Christ Moyles. I know he is not everyone's cup of tea but I love the golden hour on a Friday morning. I think this year is 1993 or 94 and is taking me back to the Satin Suit era of earlier in the thread. Oh happy days. When I could go clubbing IN THE WEEK and still get up for work the next day!!!!!

Hthe welcome back. Stick around. Good to see you again and am inpressed that you have lost 5 stone. Its always the last stone that is a bit stubborn.

I too have the apron effect. Am now the same weight as before pg but def have a mummy tummy now. It'll be the [bisuit]s, although am still trying to cut carbs and alcohol out/down. Still get tempted by cakes and biccies though.

tummum life coach sounds really interesting. You don't sound happy at work so good on you for considering other options.

flip we haven't had the swine flu jab call yyet either.

OOOOhhhhhh 93 or 94. GOing for 93 I think. .................................................................................................... ....................................................................yYYYYEEEEEESSSSSSS 93!!!

runningmonkey · 22/01/2010 09:36

Morning all

Am a bit achey this morning but slept really well so the run was obviously a good thing to do.

I can report that dishy plumber is currently here fixing the radiator in A's room

belg lol at the nipple story. Mine have always pointed south!

bellies I too have always been on the rotund side I have never got on with suck it all in pants as they just seem to give me lumps and bumps in other places! I have got a nice 50's style all in one corset-y type thing from triumph that worked wonders though - pushed everything upwards. Not sure it would fit now.

momi/younger hope you have an easy day today, it sounds like life is hard esp with your DH's work.

tum grrr at your work, sounds like they are not v family friendly. Hope the new opportunities work themselves out.

Oh got to go, A has woken up. Back later
