alibobins · 02/03/2010 11:20

lottie I was the smaller twin and apparently the fussier one when it came to feeding etc hope eve settles soon I know how frustrated I get when Jacob sleeps and Ds1 wakes up (he's been poorly)

Jacob has settled into a bit of a routine he feeds 7.30, 10.30, 1.30, 4.30, 7.30 then one night feed between 2-4 but wakes at around 5ish for a grumble lol he really won't take more than 3oz x x
He is still being sick despite the gaviscon mostly at night which is worrying but I always seem to wake up when he does.

ctofn glad ds got his first choice this time next year I'll be finding out Dd's school

Partyofseven · 02/03/2010 11:32

Hi all, long time no cyber speak, just don't seem to have enough hours in the day. Erin is 5 weeks today and the birth is a distant memory (may have to think about changing my name again Partyofsevensoontobeeighht has a nice ring, lol only joking) my beautiful daughter is sooooooo good, she has 5oz and then sleeps for about 4 hours and at night we're getting from 10pm till 4am and occasionally longer. So why do i seem to get nothing done, because she is asleep and i continue to hold her, i just love baby snuggles.

Not looking forward to the dreaded jabs cant hope Olivia is not too cross with you, and feeling ok.

london i don't know how you do it with two, but i suppose double the nice parts outway the grisley bits.

crumpette i would like the exploding poo award please, i don't know how someone so small create such mess, its like nothing for ages and then full nappy up her back round her ears and down her legs. She has leaked twice now over friends clothes (one at work yesterday, poor girl was nauseous with morning sickness as well )

am in most of pre pg clothes although would like a tummy tuck for extra flabby belly please.

Partyofseven · 02/03/2010 12:15

lottie sorry for using london previously sounds rude when you have a first name. I was catching up and your pictures of the girls are soooooooo cute.

Where is everyone with the weights of the babies. I had Erin weighed on Thurs 4wks and 3days old and she was 10lb 7oz, I knew she had put weight on but everyone was like OMG shes massive. She isn't really, she's quite long but not chubby or anything. should i be worried??

alibobins · 02/03/2010 13:40

Jacob is 11 weeks and weight 10lb 7oz but he was only 6lb 2oz born

Sounds like Erin is doing well

CantThinkofFunnyName · 02/03/2010 14:50

Olivia 9 weeks today and was 6lb 2oz born. Last week she was 9lb 3oz, so I guess she's a tinse heavier this week - but she doesn't feed a great deal so 9lb 7oz max is my guess.

Partyofseven · 02/03/2010 14:58

ali8 cant* Erin seems to have put a lot on in a short time, but while your two lovely dinky lo were 6lb 2oz she was 8lb 13oz at birth so really shes put just under 2lbs in 4 wks.

WOOOO HOOO - Me the computer illiterate has manged to post some pics to my profile for your perusal, and no I didn't get one of the children to do it.

Fraochsmum · 02/03/2010 20:59

Aw your pics are brilliant Party! It really is nice to put faces to names. I have added a couple more, but she probably doesn't look much different.
Ctofn - that seems like a really good weight gain to me. Cara was the same as yours at birth, 8lb9oz at 7 weeks, and is bang on for growth. Am really starting to get annoyed with being told how small she is...today a man said she looked much smaller than 8 weeks
Last night I put her in the crib for the first time since the moses basket, which led to a not-very-happy baby. Hopefully I can make it cosier for her tonight and she will be more settled. She has only slept for about an hour over the whole of today, poor wee mite must be bloody knackered!
Get you guys in your pre-pg clothes! I have just weighed myself and am almost 1 1/2 st more than before baby. I do put much down to extra boobage tho (5 cup sizes up), and think I could probably get into 1 size up. My problem is that I am due to 'model' at a wedding show in 3 weeks!!! I was 20 weeks pg when I was bridesmaid, but barely showing. My stepmum is cp of Leukemia Research here and it is a fundraiser so can't let her down.
Party, I think you should receive the exploding poo award if she managed to get it round her ears!!!

Newbeginning1 · 02/03/2010 22:33

Hi everyone

sazlocks- happy belated (sorry very belated) birthday.

CTOFN - how are you finding it going with the flow with Olivia? I'm still trying to get Jack to follow a "process" which he is doing, hes just not shared it with me so im still trying to figure it out.

crumpette- i hope tonight is a better night for you and the poo explosion wasnt too horrific!!! You did make me laugh with your appliance mishap

DS has his jabs tomorrow which im dreading as hes only just got over his cold but seems to have bad tummy pain so it would be nice for him just to have a few days of feeling ok. I was very happy though that for the 1st time DS slept on his own in his moses basket last night which he has never done and i've managed to put him down again tonight but i have this feeling he is going to wake up any minute.

I hope everyone has a good evening with the babies

Morning Lottie, hope you managed to enjoy your shower! I was speaking to lady the other day who mentioned that she used to have a great deal of bother getting back to sleep at night. Someone suggested she get rid of the clock in her room, as there was no need to know what the time was. Anyway, she did, and slept really well since. Maybe worth a try?
Newbeginning, hope all goes well with jabs today x
Cara took a little persuasion to sleep in the crib last night, but slept her usual 5 hours then 3 hours - yipee!

Mama2b5 · 03/03/2010 09:58

CTOFN- well done on the weight loss and the Jeans gain!!!!!! keep it up! yummy mummy!
i just have so much respect for mums of big families its so hard to plan hols its so expensive for a "none reg" sized family.
cant have no one in our cxar all 7 seats are taken! well done on lo school placement my lo got in his 1st choice as well - yeh!!!!!!
LL - please be kind to yourself with the weight you was carrying twins and its such early days right now!with lack of sleep and not much time to yourself who has time to think of lossing weight!!!!!!!!!!! im not just rolling with it,hoping weight will just fall off because barely getting time to eat!
Big hugs for you, Juliet and Eve xxxx
FPT cradle cap is so annoying just keep doing what your doing but maybe leave shampoo on for a while allowing it to really get into the scalp before washing,LO had a patch but now has gone with the olive oil and constant washing with shampoo!not harmful just annoying to look at!

sorry for long post - any advice on how to prevent LO getting bitten while away please trying to avoid sprays have been told to use fresh lemons and dressing him in white!

alibobins · 03/03/2010 11:50

Argggggghhhhhhhhh Jacob has got a belly button hernia been to see the nurse and she said it will prob need operating on in the future can anything else go wrong with my little boy.

On a more positive note I'm going to a toddler group this afternoon finally plucked up the courage although not sure what Jacob will make of it all x x

sazlocks · 03/03/2010 13:58

hello all -
all good here. DS2 getting into some sort of pattern by himself - on a good night going down in his crib at around 10.30 til 2.30 ish and then again til 6 ish. All over the place in the day sleep and feeds wise but not really bothered about that as more concerned with him getting the difference between night and day sorted out to start with. Last night not so good as he woke up around 4.30 and didn't go back to sleep - yawn. Think he was a bit windy as cried every time I put him down. Gave him a lovely bath and massage this morning and he has fed and slept on and off since then.
Weight wise he was 8 10 at birth, 7 15 ish at 3 days post birth and not back at birth weight by day 14. By 28 days he was 9 3 so he is doing grand.
alibobins hope the toddler group fun and not as bad as you thought ! sorry to hear re Jacob and hernia
mama2b5 happy hols when you finally get there
NB1 hope jabs go ok

Partyofseven · 03/03/2010 16:21

Hi all

My baby Erin is full of a cold, has any of you used nasosal drops, don;t really want too but can't do nothing.

On a positive she usually sleeps from her 10pm feed and wakes up about 4am BUT last night she had her 10pm feed and started stirring about 6am and i put her in with me for a quick snuggle and we woke up at 7.15am, so feel well rested today.

we're another big family going abroad for easter so getting passports and clothes ready is fun, fun, fun. I think we must be more organised than we give ourselves credit for.

ali sorry about your little mans button hope your afternoon wasn't to traumatic and Jacob enjoyed it.

alibobins · 03/03/2010 16:58

We used nose drops foe Jacob but they did'nt really make much difference we did buy a snot sucker and that helped and some aromotherapy oil in boots that's suitable from birth.

Toddler group was much better than I expected Jacob slept the whole time lol but I got to drink tea and chat to some other mums x x

Newbeginning1 · 03/03/2010 17:13

Partyofseven - we have used the nasal spray which seemed to help DS along with sucking out his nose.

ali - im so sorry about Jacob. Fingers crossed this is the last of the health worries for him. I noticed on your profile you're from Nottinghamshire and so am I. If ever you want to meet up at a group let me know.

Thanks everyone for the good luck with the jabs. It broke my heart seeing him cry so badly but at least they are done now. DS was having a nap but i moved the pushchair which woke him and already he seems particularly upset and agitated. Looks like i will be having a sleepless night.

maygirl · 03/03/2010 17:17

I've just used some nasal drops with DD, caught a cold from toddler big brother, all the snot has given her green poos for a few days
weightwise DD has been piling it on, 8 lbs 1oz at birth, 8lbs 9oz at 10 days and 9lbs 6oz at 17 days! I have no idea if there's any pattern to her feeding yet, I seem to be going around in a daze and on a hormonal rollercoaster of highs and lows.

maygirl · 03/03/2010 17:30

Sorry about Jacob ali

Happy hols mama2b5, have you got some netting can use over cot/pram to keep bugs out?

alibobins · 03/03/2010 19:06

Thanks Newbeginning wonder how close we are

mistletoekisses · 03/03/2010 20:04

Hi everyone!

Been keeping up to date with posts, but getting interrupted everytime I get to post!

Partyofseven - I used nasosal a few weeks ago for a fortnight when Nico caught our cold. It really is safe (used a similar spray with DS1) and helps gets lots of gunge out from LO's noses.

Crumpette - LOL at your 'appliance' episode. Have you managed to get your DS registered yet?

Ali - about Jacob. How is he doing otherwise?

CTFN - well done on the weightloss. I am finally recovered from my bug and it helped shift a few pounds. Am grasping at straws though, would far rather not have had it, made me feel vile. Am back in normal clothes though and it is great. Although am still a way of pre pregnancy jeans, am back in the jeans I bought when DS1 was 7 weeks old, so am not stressing about the weight thing.

Hello to everyone else and sorry for not replying to all the posts, have forgotten half of my responses and need to get to sleep now that Nico is asleep. He is getting much better at settling into hs cot all night. Still waking quite regularly, but have started to try and resettle without giving a feed. We are trying to get to 3am after the 10pm dreamfeed...fingers crossed!

OP posts:
CantThinkofFunnyName · 03/03/2010 20:48

Evening everyone. Thanks for all the compliments on weight loss... but can I just reiterate for the sake of clarity - I'm not in pre-pregnancy jeans - I am a loooooong way off from that. I've had to go out and buy some new ones that are a size up from pre-preg .

Ali so to hear about Jacob. You really are having absolute rotten luck.

Lottie - hoping you get more sleep tonight - urrggh!

FPT - carry on with the olive oil rubbing into scalp. My DD1 had that really bad and I found that the olive oil worked better than Dentonox (in the end). Mind you, because she was late, I had to rub olive oil in all over her body because her skin was so dry. Works a treat though.

Olivia had her first explosive poo yesterday . A definite up the back variety but I don't think she's anywhere near winning the trophy by the sounds of some bubs on here

Party - I have also found that putting a few drops of Karvol on a muslin square and placing on a radiator in bub's room helps for congestion.

Had a lovely day out today visiting my 32 wk pg best friend (second IVF baby) and tomorrow off to visit another. All's good in the CTOFN household

Partyofseven · 04/03/2010 09:05

Thanks for the advice about nasal drops, I did give her some yesterday and she wasn't as grunty.

After our good nights sleep on tuesday (no need to be jealous) because last night we were back to the screaming after her 5pm feed so in the end I gave 2oz at 6.30 and the 2 more at 7.30, so she was asleep at 8pm and didn't wake for her 10pm feed. I went to bed and she woke at 1am and proceeded to vomit all over me after her feed and then slept till 7am. I love being a new mum

I'm refusing to stress about weightloss, I don't know what I weigh, I just go off my clothes, but I think I look alright for a mother of 5, one only being 5 wks. My lovely mother has just said, when are you going to start exersizing sp??, I just ignored her. I don't think she realises she does it but she always manges to make me feel guilty for something.

Hope everyone has a good day. I be back soon.

Partyofseven · 04/03/2010 09:09

To everyone who suggested the sucky out thing?? my sis works with the HVs and she got me one from conference (not got it yet she lives away) and the Hvs said that it can make the baby produce more snot. We too have had +++++++ of dirty nappies so she is obviously under the weather a bit. Extra cuddles from mummy I think.

sockmonkey · 04/03/2010 10:14

Hello all.
Ali How is Jacob? Poor thing, you must be so fed up, it does just seem to be one thing after another.

Actually got a decent-ish night of sleep last night. Bed by 10.30, up at 2am, and again at 5. I got the bed to myself last night too, DH got out the inflatable matress as the few nights before had been really bad! He said he almost fell asleep on drive to work yesterday.

DD is working on another chin, she seems to be filling out nicely. Her hair is getting embarrasing though, it's all fallen out on the top, leaving just the sides and back... she looks like a little Grant Mitchell, especially as she spends most of her time scowling. Good job it's cold out so she can wear a hat

maygirl · 04/03/2010 10:44

Morning everyone. Can I ask when those who had csec started driving again?
Thanks
