Glad you had a good night CTFN !
Can't imagine such shinanigans with my boob leech looking to feed from me until she is 2 !

I got Nutramigen too and she was horrified by the taste and angry with the sight of the bottle in the first instance.

How disgusting is it though, yuck.

sockmonkey I had totally forgotten the orange phase.

Yes all good clothes (not the cheapy ones) will indeed be attacked by all things orange. It will miss the bib and hit the leg of the lovely outfit.

Just buy orange clothes from 6-18 months!

Newbeginning1 · 01/04/2010 16:54

Thanks for the tips as per the pootastic time i'm having. Wmdo i do get what you mean about throwing them away. I have been close numerous times to cutting DS out of his vests etc so I don't have to navigate the poo round his head and hair then wash it

CTOFN - sounds like your DH redeemed himself. Is it sad that even though i'm single I would rather have 8 hours of uniterrupted sleep than go out with the girls or even have jiggy times. It's like my duvet and my bed are my porn.

So Jack had a fit this morning so we have just got back from the hospital. He needs to have an EEG done which im dreading because it takes so long to put everything on his head and they want him awake then asleep. Has anyone got any experience of babies/children having EEG's and how it went and what the diagnosis was?

A big thank you to everyone for the words about work.

crumpette · 01/04/2010 17:31

Just about to post and huge explosion outside utterly bizarre- 2 huge bangs and the house shook? (waves farewell if a terrorist has decided to visit the library opposite )

newbeginning I'm so sorry about Jack having another fit. Horrendous to witness, you feel so scared and powerless. I have experience of EEGs, they're not great, he will have lots of electrodes glued all over his head and then someone will watch on a screen and film him as well, then go over the trace and the film to work out if there are any anomalies.. They may have to sedate him, but won't sedate him a great deal as this can make the EEG appear pretty flat even when it's not iyswim. You will probably see a neurologist and once they have a firm accurate diagnosis there may be a need for medication to control his fits.. but all of that is when the time comes. I have some experience of neuro meds etc if you have questions about it later on, if he even needs them. HUGE HUG for you though xxx

WMDO you are a genius. I will buy orange clothes!!!! I had never thought of that Sadly I have chucked away some white vests in the not too distant past (er last week) with pneumatic poo on, I feel quite embarrassed but who wants a washed white vest with orange poo stains all over it, ick

CTFN your night out sounds great, v v v

alibobins · 01/04/2010 18:55

New I'm so so sorry to hear about Ds
Dd had a 3 day eeg done and had to wear a little bag with all the wires attatched to a box.
It isn't very nice but doesn't hurt.

ctofn have a good holiday

mama2moo · 01/04/2010 22:45

crumpette Have you found out what made the earth move?

New I hope Jack is ok and they find out what is wrong with him. Just think, once its done its done. Best to get it over with.

I may have to lie be a few days late with my Monday weigh in. Bloody Tesco's are selling Creme Egg ice cream for £1.99!! Bastards. Yes, I have just sat with the tub and a spoon and eaten most of it. I did save a small amount for dp.

Everyone is buying Easter eggs for dd's. One of which is only 8 weeks old so I guess I will be eating it so that she at leasts tastes it in my milk

DD1 is in her 'big bed' tonight for the first time! I took about 100 photos so no wonder she didnt go to sleep!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. It will be nice to have dp here to sit on the internet help me out!

Not that I am an expert with poo stains and thus far, we seems to have been quite lucky and not had the orange stainy poos. When do these come into play?

My understanding with laundry stains is that stains of a protein nature (I am presuming that the fatty bits that come out are protein based) should not be washed in hot water as that sets the stain. You want to cold wash it to get the stain out then hot wash it to get any nasty bugs. Just googled to make sure that I wasn't talking out my arse (hoho) and I am more or less in the right ballpark. Don't use hot water unless the clothes are stain free.

Fraosch Hope you guys manage the weather ok... the news has been going on and on about the weather in Scotland.

lottie Thanks for the reply re the cross eyes. Very reassuring. Also he has stopped doing it now that I have fretted over it. I think Aidan does this to keep me on my toes!

Oooo easter smilies Happy Easter all

crumpette · 02/04/2010 11:15

lottie! Am most to hear that you have purchased some unnecessary bottles! I have 'sources', you have done the right thing

Hope your girlies are doing well!

flyingma interesting about the orange stain washing temp theory, I always wash things hot and unless I add something heavy duty like vanish (full of shameful chemicals I'm sure) the marks never come out.

I am very embarrassed to confess that what I thought was a huge bomb blast (in my defence people on the street screamed and ran towards bus shelter) was actually.. thunder.. how pathetic am I? must have been right overhead though that was crazy the house really shook!

Well I was meant to be visiting relatives this weekend but the prospect of hours in the car with piglet screaming and pooing all over the place has caused me to cancel hotel reservation! oh yes and factoring in my relatives themselves it's sensible to leave it cancelled..

mama2moo · 02/04/2010 15:40

Poo stains are awful. Do you still use vests if you cant get the yellow out?

Babymoo poos every 3-5 days and it always bloomin leaks. Dd1 was formula fed so we never had this problem.

Anyone know much about cradle cap? Babymoos spots on her face and scalp have gone now - She had loads of them. But she has been left with a very dry/scaly scalp and forehead. I have just got some shampoo for it but wondered if anything might help?

With have heavy rain and wind today - Off to Cornwall tomorrow for the night so hoping for some sunshine!

somewhathorrified · 02/04/2010 18:16

I basically attack baby poo with a nail brush and washing up liquid, it stains but meh, Tobin's not complained about it yet!

Oh for a baby that poos every few days, at 11weeks we're still exploding several times a day.

Tobin still has a cold/cough and is now on precautionary antibiotics. He does seem much better, but is still noisy..bless him.

Oh joy it'sbath time. A nice 10 mins in the bath, then 5mins of solid screaming as we rush to dry and clothe him after, so much for relaxing baths b4 bed

quirkychick · 02/04/2010 21:41

Re the vests or any other baby clothing, when dd1 was weaning and they were orange stained beyond belief (lol sockmonkey) I dyed them nice bright colours.

mama2moo dd1 had awful cradle cap that eventually went all itchy. I took her to the gp and he said it is a form of eczema/dermatitis and gave us 0.5% hydrocortisone cream which completely cleared it up. It might be worth seeing gp if it's really bad.

We have given up the top-ups, it has taken us 11 weeks. Fingers crossed, next week when the hv comes that her weight is gaining well. I will not miss the sterilising.

Lots of rolling over, grabbing stuff, starting to laugh and now dribbling here. Bubbly dribbles .

alibobins · 03/04/2010 07:41

quirky it sound like you and Dd are doing really well
Jacob is still happy just to sit in his bouncy chair watching the world go by (typical bloke )
He hates tummy time and makes not effort to roll but does manage to turn 45 degree's on his play mat.
Have a lovely easter everyone don't eat too muc chocolate

london what a lovely post brought a tear to my eye.
It just goes to show that we are coming to and end of the first few months when days are unpredictable and roll into one.
Our little one's are becoming little characters smiling, laughing and we are settling into our roles as a Mummy.
Soon we will be discussing sitting, weaning and even crawling.

verycherry · 03/04/2010 11:36

Morning all, poo explosions here too - I douse mine with vanish stain remover spray and wash at 40 and they nearly always come out clean (apart from when they have festered in the linen basket )

Am feeling a bit fed up and low, have never felt like this before so have actually done my own head in being self analytical. Had a really disrupted nights sleep last fri (by dp) and have nt seemed to catch up yet, Ds is actually sleeping ok ish but I m not.

Dp is away all week so I think I am used to sleeping alone, he came home last and was up most of the night on the loo, he woke up when Ds did at 1 + 5 and rubbed my back whilst I was feeding, v nice, but then at 5 launched into a monologue about his week!! Has the man no idea?

He has gone off to see a friend overnight, totally don't begrudge it as he rarely goes out when he's here and would normally not care at all but really wish it was nt arranged for this weekend.

Right am off to change ds3 suspicious smelling napppy and monitor ds1 packing efforts for his upcoming week away.

Oh and have to report have stuffed self silly this week - family bags of revels, maltesers and minstrels, banoffee pie and a whole tub of ben and jerrys. Am not optimistic re weigh in...

sockmonkey · 03/04/2010 18:34

have posted a couple more pics
verycherry... I've just got back from a kids birthday party where I have undone any good I have done this week.

Hope you all get plenty rest over easter.

maygirl · 03/04/2010 19:47

DD has had 'zits' followed by bad cradle cap mama2moo! I was rubbing oil into it as looked so dry but didn't help, then I read its actually caused by too much sebum, so started gently washing her scalp with a soft flannel, i have some fleece ones, pressing down for a few mins to soak and soften the flaky bits then gently rub the loose bits off. Brush her hair once its dry to loosen more flakes. I follow with a tiny bit of olive oil to which I've added a drop of tea tree oil if it looks dry. It has really cleared up nicely.

Too cute lottie, you and the girls are going to have lots of fun going on your big missions!
Well done on getting feeding sorted quirky

I can't remember who had the 10 min pregnancy pilates DVD, but have you tried the postnatal flat abs bit? OMG, very ambitious for post birth, ouch!! DH did it to cheer me up the other night, pmsl, and he was sore the next day!

Right just sat and read this page and Im already forgetting most of what I read - shattered.

New thats awful re Jack, I hadn't seen your post re a fit. Hope he is ok.
I know my friends 4 yr old DS had a few and got checked out but he was fine. Fingers crossed Jack will be the same. x

sock awww very cute, she is gorgeous. What are your boys like with her? Are either of them jealous at all?

london I know what you mean about feeling brave going out. I find with my DS and DD It's really hard. Still 2 babies I guess but not as hard as twins id imagine.

DS runs riot and Im left choosing between abandoning the pram for him of shouting him back (never works).
Im not confident about feeding her when Im out as the feeding can be so hit or miss with her reflux so im avoiding loads of stuff.

Thus sat in the house with a bored increasingly naughty toddler and baby. Can feel very down too verycherry.
I used to take DS out 5 days a week and he was great so I feel very bad seeing him upset/bored alot.

Arggghh, just wish Olivia would take a bottle so Id see the end to the feeding holding us back. Otherwise she is a fantastic baby who sits in her pram or car seat where ever we go and doesn't complain much.

Bought a double Mclaren today so I don't have as much bother with DS running away or getting upset seeing DD in HIS pram .
I did have a Phil & Ted but she can't lie flat in the cocoon so sold it again. Hope this makes life a bit easier.

We will all get there. This bit is the toughest bit by far so the fact that weaning and sitting is coming up next - we've just about done it girly's!

Im dreading the weigh in too people!
Mum been off and we have been for lunches and DH off tomorrow and Mon and he is one of those skinny folk who never stops eating . He is a bad influence on me .

What is this about rolling? Olivia if like Jacob ali. Sits in Bouncy chair watching the going's on. Ive noticed she has a smile for everyone but when DS approaches she looks almost nervous! He must have got a few slaps in when Ive not been looking lol.

Hope everyone has a good Easter.....will see how our weight survived over next few days!

albiesmummy · 04/04/2010 20:01

hi everyone sorry for my absence...i've had visitors!!!! friend then in laws and dh has had a few days off so dont often come online when hes about...we tend to be off doing stuff! for poo and the horrid milk stains on clothing i find napisan works a treat...if you soak the clothes in a bucket with napisan before you wash them they come up a treat. and napisan can be used on whites and colours which is gfood for lazy mummies like me.

CTFN...i still havent replaced scales since last update...were having our gardens landscaped in preperation for summer with a little one...cant wait...so cutting back on other unneccesary expenses. so i'm going to be optimistic and say im still the same 8st but i did have a trifle for breakfast this morning...uuum

mama2moo · 04/04/2010 21:55

london That post was lovely I hope you didnt kill each other in Ikea

sock Your children are gorgeous

Thanks for the tips on the cradle cap. Since using the cradle cap shampoo its loads worse! Back to water only and some olive oil.

I have eaten loads this weekend. No weigh in for me this week!!

Feeling a bit down today. My sister is off on holiday this week and Im so jealous that my life isnt that easy anymore IYSWIM. I would love to go off on holiday without worrying about anything. I suppose I should be grateful for my girls but I do miss the life I had.

sockmonkey · 05/04/2010 08:47

New How is baby Jack doing now? You had any news?
WMDO DD is all smiles for DS1, but tends to cry if DS2 trys to cuddle/play. He is a bit rough with her, and I think she is getting more & more weary (sp?) of him. It's funny at such a young age they know.

I thought we had cracked sleeping, she slept 10-5 on Sunday night, but was back to old routine of 2am 4.30am last night (with a visit from DS2 at 3.15 argh!)

For weigh in info - 2 lbs lost. Down to 10 st 10. Not sure how that has happened as I haven't done much excersise at all this week.

crumpette · 05/04/2010 11:47

well done sock!!!

I am avoiding all scales, may dig them out later and post results (is it a week already!?have been v bad, just ate 4 chocolate cookies for breakfast)

lottie what a lovely lovely post! awwwww!!! Brought a tear to my eye! I love the idea of you in the Swiss countryside with the girls (would be even better if you teach them to sing in the style of the sound of music.. oh that was Austria right..) But anyway it sounds utterly lovely and serene. Don't worry about being the centre of attention with twins I think it's inevitable until they are older (ie about 3) but nobody will even notice you they will be so busy staring at your gorgeous babies! I hope Ikea was OK. You are one very brave lady

Well I'm having a hermity day of inactivity due to DS waking up every single hour last night and me not sleeping in between, I am completely shattered..! And he appears to actually very nearly have a sharp tooth already! Has been dribbling and chewing his hand loads but I felt a proper sharp tooth yesterday on his lower jaw, maybe that's why he's being a bit er difficult. No rolling or grabbing here yet though, but he does do lots of moving, either on his back or his tummy he is able to move up to 1.5 metres away from his starting point, v strange child!

whensmydayoff · 05/04/2010 15:58

Hi, Ive not been near my scales this morning . It's not going to be good!
I will weigh myself tomorrow....Fat Club is shut bank holiday Monday, that's my story and im sticking to it.

My Uncle George (65) died suddenly this morning .
One of my mums four brothers. They were all very close. We had to go and tell my gran her (possibly favourite son) had died. It was horrific. My gran is 87 and keeps poor health herself so she couldn't believe her son had gone first .

The last time I seen him was the first time he met Olivia and to embarass him I made Evan give him a huge cuddle and kiss goodbye as he was my grumpiest uncle .
Im so glad I did.

It's horrible to see the shock my Mum and Gran are in and im not sure what to do with myself.

Bit heavy on a bank holiday Monday but needed to offload, sorry. .

Anyway, I hope everyone had a nice Easter, I had a lovely day yesterday.
Rolled eggs with DS and it was actually sunny.
Had Mum and Step Dad for dinner. Not traditional but done my Jamie Oliver Meatballs which I have to say - Im good at!! Then I had to watch them all devour apple crumble and Ice Cream I couldn't have on my Dairy Free diet .
Never mind, I did manage to find a Dairy Free Sticky Toffee Pudd - Oh yes, the dedication!!

Sock, Funny re DS2, I know what you mean, you can see there's 'history' between them!

whensmydayoff · 05/04/2010 16:00

Over use of those faces - very annoying
