If I had tights, I'd put Q in them But it is toasty warm in our place. DH is in short sleeves, I'm in long sleeves and we're not cold in the least. Thank goodness. I can't deal with a cold house!
Good they are coming back to replace the parts, pepper!
I just went to sainsburys with Q and everything was in plenty of stock... no problems with that. And loads of wellies! let me know if you need some!

Enjoy your hot bath pepper you deserve it!
And myjob with your meal out

aubergenie · 09/01/2010 19:51

Is your meal out tonight Myjob?

My CM has just emailed me loads of photos of S's first week. No wonder he settled in OK, he looks like he was really busy.

How lovely of your cm, aubergenie!! It must be so heartwarming to see what he was up to there
lol myjob we're all thinking you're out tonight... or at least, I was

pepperrabbit · 09/01/2010 20:08

It's a conspiracy, That's the only reason we're being tormented like this.
Lots of hot water - but the bath is blocked. Don't know if the outflow has frozen or what. Frankly it's straining relations here, as the kids were excited about having a bath (new bubble bath promised..) I REALLY need want a shower as does DH. DH is taking it personally and taking it out on the kids and I'm desperately trying to arbitrate, when actually, at some point it's got to be my go to have a tantrum!
But we can't fix it. Only one bathroom, so no bath or shower for anyone.
Very pissed off. In fact having a very large gin and tonic.

oh Pepper. How awful. I really hope this gets cleared up soon. Everyone needs a hot shower to stay happy and sane. You're doing really well to keep it together as well as you are!

pepperrabbit · 09/01/2010 20:39

Now eating chocolate.

Ekka · 10/01/2010 09:28

Pepper - sounds like its the only thing to do.... Poor you, everything is conspiring against you at the moment.

I was feeling a bit smug that dh and I were surviving the whole him working from home thing really well, until last night he decided to turn our car round in the drive (I'd parked it facing the house). We hadn't cleared any snow on the drive, but instead of trying to shovel some away he just decided to drive the car through it. Needless to say it got stuck, wheels spinning, the whole thing, for about 1.5hrs. Now, given he's from Alberta and really used to snowy winters, I was a little miffed that he couldn't get this right. He admitted that he had forgotten my car didn't have winter tyres on . Luckily I didn't have to kill him, as he did get it turned round eventually . I think he has now realised why everyone has been slipping and sliding their cars around the roads all week.

Matthew is a little snow baby - he loves toddling around in the snow, trying to pull our sledge!! Wish he was big enough to pull me in it

StarExpat · 10/01/2010 14:11

Hello

I'm meant to be working on reports for my class...they are due very soon and lots and lots of writing to be done.. but here I am... on MN...

Ekka - glad you got the car turned around. Maybe dh got over confident and thought with his experience he could jsut plow right through it

Hot water today, pepper?

Q is not doing so well and woke at 5.45ish today but at 9.15 he crawled up into my lap and fell asleep until 10.15. Then I went to take a shower, he woke on my moving and he climbed into DH's lap and slept until past noon. I don't think we'll put him down for another nap at this point... probably not a great idea - but he's rubbing his eyes... hmmm what would you do?

50ftQueenie · 10/01/2010 17:35

Back later, but thought I'd better respond to Gui. Yes it's true I'm going to be an aunty. My brother is pregnant.

Honeymoonmummy · 10/01/2010 18:12

Aaaaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhhhh. Rage rage rage. CAn't swear, on work laptop. Aaaarrrrggghhh. Men. (Not Amen)

50ftQueenie · 10/01/2010 18:39

Oh dear Hmm. I've had one of those weekends with DH too!

StarExpat · 10/01/2010 18:50

50ft wow! A pregnant brother Tell us more!!
HMM sorry to hear that. I know what a pita men can be.
50ft if it helps I can arrange to go to bluewater without Q on a weekend and meet up with you

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/01/2010 19:26

Oh dear pepper. Don't suppose you got anyone to fix it on a Sunday did you?

Congrats to 50ft's bro!

Went to ikea today to get some more substantial playroom storage. Chose this which they then typically didn't have in our chosen colour. We bought all the boxes that fit the sections anyway, and dh will pop back up next weekend at some point if they have them back in by then (which they said they would, but who knows?!). I now have a playroom stuffed with filled boxes stacked precariously on top of one another!

Off to hospital very early tomorrow to diabetic clinic. Hoping that I'll get to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Got to take both dc with me though, so could be a fraught visit, especially if they are running as late as they usually do (which is why I went for an early appt!).

StarExpat · 10/01/2010 19:33

wow you must have a lot of toys! We just did a clear out, so are back to the 3 drawer storage unit + the small decorative basket.

Good luck tomorrow at the clinic csws

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/01/2010 19:37

We do indeed star! Was hoping to get rid of some of the baby ones, but then got pregnant again so need to keep them all!

OP posts:
StarExpat · 10/01/2010 19:47

Good thing you still have them all That storage thingy looks very organised!

50ftQueenie · 10/01/2010 19:52

Hee hee. Actually my lovely SIL is pregnant, my brother is currently single so it would be a double surprise! Only 8 weeks so I wasn't going to announce it yet but seeing as someone else was obviously too excited......! I am very happy for her, but the ILs are going to be totally unbearable now. DH said that on the plus side, maybe now they'll bugger off to the States!

Good luck tomorrow CSWS. How big are the compartments in that storage unit? I was thinking of getting some more of the draw units that we already have (like the ones you've got) but that looks neater.

Star - You're a sweetheart to suggest BW. I have a few busy weekends but maybe once things have calmed down..... Oh and have you not yet discovered that toys breed? Sorry to hear Q is under the weather again. Maybe he just likes having a cuddle with mummy.

Pepper - I hope that things have been sorted out now. It would be torture for BG to have left you without hot water/ warmth in this weather for another day.

What a fabulous thing for your CM to do Aubergenie! That must make you feel so much better and confident in your choice.

Come on Hmm - spill the beans without swearing. You can do it. Be creative........

Guimauve · 10/01/2010 19:56

Ooops! Sorry! I figured that this was not like the real world and it's just you and I here (sort of....)

50ftQueenie · 10/01/2010 20:03

Awwww, you were just excited about your best buddy being pregnant. Tis sweet.

StarExpat · 10/01/2010 20:05

50ft - anytime
Q is definitely under the weather. The raspiness started in his throat and now I clearly hear it in his chest every time he breathes And a barking cough again. blah. I can't stay home from work tomorrow, either My poor baby.

And yes, toys do breed. But every time we get a new toy, we get rid of (put in the loft or garage) an old/babyish toy he hardly plays with anymore. I have to do this with clothes and shoes, too... not that I've been able to afford any new clothes since well before Q was born.

Come on, HMM - spill it

Guimauve you're welcome on our thread anytime are you the one having the baby? if so, congrats!!!

StarExpat · 10/01/2010 20:07

oh xposts with 50ft. Congrats to your friend, then That's so nice that you're excited for her! I like people like you

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/01/2010 20:16

No, no, no star. You're supposed to recycle the toys! Hide them away in loft or garage for a bit, and then bring them out like they are something new a few weeks later, and they start playing with them again!

50ft - I can get as much/more in one of the boxes as I could in the medium sized trofast one. And I will have some shelves without boxes for things like dd's collection of fuzzy felt, and all the aquadraw bits, and the clipo table (which will stick out a bit, but better than taking up additional floor space).
