Happy 2010 everyone! Cast your mind back to this time last year... [soppy]

Too much wine - excuse for thread title should it be shite rubbish when I read it tomorrow. Thought it was time to wave goodbye to the festive one, although perhaps we should have waited for epiphany?

Lost some duplo Now bidding on job-lot of polly pocket for DD with the remainder of her chrimbo money. Still in for 3 lots of duplo though, it is kind of smaller than mega-bloks (which they also love) but bigger than lego (which with have shed-loads of), with the advantage that it fits with lego for that in-betweeny stage that DD is at at the moment. If you go to lego-land at all( which is fab) they have duplo-land for the littlys, so sweet!

Gumps- feels a bit weird to write this but yay for sore boobies, could still be a chance. How on earth did you gain 5st in weight, you are a tiny thing!!

Hey to MissJ, your party/piss-up sounds a fab plan, I wish people would have had a drink at mine but it was a thursday afternoon I can still do feb meet-up, what about Brisol??? I was thinking Cotswold wildlife park which is towards Burford in the hope that some London peeps could come too. the start of the week is better for me (are you listening Dog as I have you down for 4 beds overnight at hotel pat).

dog bummer about horse lady, hope you feel better soon. Bet you are losing weight with all this up-chucking (something I never did with my pregnancies).

well time for a outburst. DH's car wouldn't start this morning so he called out the AA and they came about 2 hours later and told him the bonnet catch was broken so they couldn't get in to charge battery, they took him to Ford garage who have said there is loads of stuff wrong but they can't look at it till possibly friday and no courtesy cars as all booked out. His work cannot arrange hire car at short-notice so that basically leaves us with my car for the week. Now this means booking the DC's extra sessions with the CM and nursery and me going into work hours early and staying on my afternoons off till DH can come pick me up and then the kids (because of the geographics of where we both work and the hours I normally do, I usually do all the picking up and dropping off). It is SUCH A PAIN. Can you tell I'm annoyed![

treedelivery · 18/01/2010 20:47

120 - loved your story. Just read it again.
Thats a big old party you have planned!!

Hello MissJ!! When is your party and how many smalls are there? Maybe mum would do some for you, she's a bit of a diamond. SHe might want the cost of fabric but probably not.

Hope you're alright Lenni, hang in there. Fluff on it's way.

DOg, yay for feelign a bit better anyway.

H is full of snot and misery. Bless her. She just looks so cute with a cold.

evening all. can't believe you all actually read the story again. it was a pretty amazing thing the staff did in helping me get a vbac. DP wrote most of it as I really don't remember much at all (apart from shouting at him because he was eating crisps in my ear because he was hungry). How very dare he.

Tree, I know what you mean about them looking cute when ill. When H gets cross or upset, his little nose goes red first.

Just uploading today's watercolour sketches onto profile.

120 · 18/01/2010 21:27

miss j I lurrve bellini!

Dog sorry about horse. Sounds like you are better off without them.

books, you managed to sneak in there whilst I was uploading pics!

120 · 18/01/2010 21:37

meant to say, glad I insprired you books! I just spent 10 mins looking for the list of birthdays so we can see who is coming up next, but couldn't find it and my pc is horribly slow for some reason.

treedelivery · 18/01/2010 21:42

I totally missed that about the other thing Gumps . Wow.

Pat - arse and yah boo sucks to ebay and car woes.We had no car for the first half term. Blardy nightmare. Had to borrow mothers in end. Hope it gets fixed very very soon.

Lenni · 18/01/2010 21:48

OMG the shame - why why why did DH think it would be okay to order condoms on the tesco delivery and then go out leaving me with the inevitable "I'm sorry madam, the Mates Variety pack you ordered has been substitued with Durex Featherlite, is that okay for you?" Please earth, swallow me up. Note to self: must sort out contraception.

Pat - MissJ uses some kind of auction sniper thing that solves ebay woes, am sure she'll tell us proper name when next on but might be worth a google.
Totally rubbish about car.

I'm okay Tree - looking forward to fluff! Still nothing else to apply for, feeling a bit crap about it all. Fed up of living in the middle of nowhere.

treedelivery · 18/01/2010 21:51

Oh well I share that one with you Lenni. Big style.

ROfl at condoms though.

PatTheHammer · 18/01/2010 22:04

OMG Lenni, the exact thing happened to me about 7-8 months ago, why the hell do they have to SAY it and not just show you the paper like they normally do

What is even more is that we have not bought any since and are still on that same pack of 24 (they were BOGOF!)

Ooohh, auction sniper sounds good. I am soooooooo out of practice with the whole thing!

Books-good luck with the 1 car situation, though at the meet-up

PatTheHammer · 18/01/2010 22:05

Tree, how much to borrow your mums car for the week

120 · 18/01/2010 22:13

auction stealer

Pat, sorry I missed the bit about the car; can't seem to read in straight lines.

Lenni, love the condom story.

must sleep, nite all.

Dog - you really are at the horrid stage atm, it'll soon pass and bloated feeling will be replaced with nice baby bump. I was always really windy feeling at the start

How on earth did your DP get a condom stuck up his nose? maybe that is why you've sprogged such a lovely brood been putting them on the wrong orafice!

Week of half term here is Monday 15th - Friday 19th.

Not sure what to say on feeding, I miss it but am glad to have it behind me. Most of all I'm enjoying being able to have a glass of wine without thinking when is he going to wake for a feed - but then I have wakealot babies and you have sleepalot ones DS was biting a lot toward the end, that made things easier with stopping since I had started feeling anxious about feeds and not snuggling him in close unless he was half asleep.

Moose and 120 - just read your birth stories, amazing how much detail I remember from first time around.

Tree - my residing memory from your birth story is you doing an enormous poo and didn't H fly out or was that just E?

Lenni · 18/01/2010 23:40

Should also say birth stories were amazing in themselves, I love that E was born in her waters.

Looking at all the old threads made me since we were all keeping name ideas under our hats even on here! Practically no one posted their choices before the birth - or anytime soon afterwards in MissJ's case

We wanted to call DS Jonah, but could only do it if he had been born in his waters since it is unlucky otherwise - wasn't sure if being born in the birthing pool counted to counteract the bad luck so went with D which means "Son of the Sea" quite aptly. He didn't have a middle name until a few days after he was born. We only realised later that he is "DJ surname" - no need for a stage name. If he'd of been a girl he would have been Lily Rose.

DD was very close to being called Natasha, and Alesha, glad we went with neither of those. She'd have been Nate if a boy, short for Nathaniel, and DH wanted the middle name Marcos after the mexican zapitista Subcommandante Marcos but I think I may have had to veto that.

tinksbabyis1 · 19/01/2010 08:36

lol @ condoms with tesco

on no pat with car

bracken is 1

pressy time in a min as dh is taking dd1 to school

dh is off today

tinksbabyis1 · 19/01/2010 08:39

my due date was the 15th of jan.
contractions started @ 5am on monday the 19th. they were very painful and 5-6 mins apart already.
dh went out to get tens from birthing centre came back with it at 8:50am contractions still painful even with tens on.
mum was due to come over anyway. she turned up @ 9am. left for birthing centre @ 9:45am as wasnt copying with the pain with tens and contractions mostly 5 mins apart already!!
got into birthing centre for 10am. they timed my contractions definetly 5 mins apart lasting 40secs to a min.
did an internal 4-5 cms already!!.
had gas and air from 11am as contractions unbearable.
12pm waters broke while standing up leaning on side of birthing pool had meconium in them so couldnt have a waterbirth but at least had her in birthing centre.
then got onto bed not long after on my back then they started to get excrutiating. gas and air just about making pain bearable.
this birth was so much faster and painful then with dd1 and baby much bigger.
finally after midwife said 20 mins of pushing :-
bracken hope willow born 1:51pm weighing 8lbs7ozs
dd1 was only 6lbs12ozs!! so abit of a shock
had 2nd degree tearing same as with dd1 no where near as many stitches doesnt feel anywhere near as painful!!
all doing great she is a very contented baby

120 · 19/01/2010 08:45

happy birthday bracken

Dog; my milk dipped when I was first pregnant and DD got quite agitated during feeds. I dropped the day feeds between 12 and 13 mo and continued to feed morning and night until 15mo (was very worried I'd end up tandem) when I think it was finally just collustrum and she self weaned. Then again DD wouldn't take a bottle so didn't have that much choice! Not sure quite why I'm telling you this but...

Soccerette · 19/01/2010 10:08

HELLLLLLOOOOOO LADIES!

I haven't been on here in FOREVER, but i thought it'd be rude not to pop on and wish all our january babies (and those early arrivals in Dec) a VERY Happy 1st Birthday!!!

Esmé is 1 on Saturday (23rd) and i'm still trying to figure out where the year has gone!!! :-O

Shes crawling at the speed of light, but no Walking. But is a real talker!!!

We're still in the barn, but are very close to Exchanging on a house down here. Can't wait to get into something thats our own!

OH football going pretty well, but has just picked up a niggling injury, so i'm running around after both DD and OH right now.

Wedding plans coming along v. well. 5 months to go.. Well less than actually! Wowsas!

Hope you are ALL well. Must TRY and get back into this thread, Miss you all! xx

Soccerette · 19/01/2010 10:15

ps. Incase anyone has forgotten... Tis Me... Ray!!!

treedelivery · 19/01/2010 10:19

Lenni - you'll have to wait till Friday to read the story and find out Poo though. lots of poo.

Happy Birthday Bracken!

Hello to soccerette! Hope the injury niggle goes away very soon, and you get a home of your own that is lush. Married, one year old daughter and a new flash pad. Perfect

Dog - I can totally imagine you wanting some light between thi sbaby and the next. Totally. That makes sense to me. x

H is snotty bagoroony as dd1 says, and had a nasty temp last night. Was 39.8 which is a whoppper really. She just crawled back and forth from dh to me groaning. SHe couldn't find comfort anywhere.
DH has had 4 hours of broken sleep 2 nights in a row - me 5. I don't know how he does it.
He's out till 9 tonight too, night school. I'll be suffering at dd1 bedtime.

H doesn't have a bedtime anymore. SHe sleeps 7-8 ish then gets up till between 10 and 1am and drives us insane. Random!

120 · 19/01/2010 10:27

welcome back ray/soccerette. was wondering where you'd been hiding. obviously no excuses for being too busy to m'net!

Tree, H started doing that again. It is so annoying. They sit there looking all cheeky and pointing at things and chattering away and all you want to do it go to sleep!

treedelivery · 19/01/2010 10:29

You'll always be ray to me too soccerette. Dunno why!

Really 120? That's comforting somehow.

I shoul dbe sleeping. DD is asleep on me. I should be sleeping......

treedelivery · 19/01/2010 10:32

Where is Stripey amd when is C's birthday? Was it yesterday?

stripeywoollenhat · 19/01/2010 11:50

it was yesterday, tree - chocolate cake smeared everywhere can't believe she is one! will put some photos on fb later today. v hectic here, c's dad's family all weekend, and c is wrecked today after three days of being the centre of attention. i think she had a good time - she is a BIG fan of cake, of any kind....

dog, i can totally see that you would want a break from bf; sorry you feel all windy...

oh, return of dp and c - got to get on but will be back later
