Happy 2010 everyone! Cast your mind back to this time last year... [soppy]

Too much wine - excuse for thread title should it be shite rubbish when I read it tomorrow. Thought it was time to wave goodbye to the festive one, although perhaps we should have waited for epiphany?

Anyone there? What do you make of this? I did test yesterday and negative. Mental toddler emptied the bin today and I glanced at the test to see it was positive! I know I didn't look at it for the full 2 minutes as with both boys it went positive straight away but I did wait quite a while. The box says to disregard results after 10 minutes but how did this happen? Cap still on and not much else in the bathroom bin to contaminate it.
Obvioulsy the clear answer is to test again but dh is at work until 8 and I probably should wait until morning anyway.
Sooo excited but trying not to be.

DH came home early and tested about 5 mins ago.
It's negative but I am still sitting here watching it! Quite shocked and glad at how much I want another baby when I thought I still wasn't sure. If I am not pregnant at least it has had one good result.

treedelivery · 17/01/2010 19:38

I only agreed cos I have no clue.

Gumps · 17/01/2010 19:40

tree at least go along with the illusion that you know all!

treedelivery · 17/01/2010 19:47

Go forth and test, I believe it to be the best plan of care based on current research and best practice.

All my caseload know they are pregnanct by the time I see them

Few new snowy pics on FB. Tink your dd's birthday looks fun.

treedelivery · 17/01/2010 19:49

Yellow cake in recipe section is ace for a dairy free one. I NEVER bake and my cake was fantastic!
Off to eat and feel sad and might as well drink wine!

Gumps, fingers crossed for the test. I used ebay cheapies to test with dd so had loads of them to waste. They seemed to be negative forever and the first positive one was so pale I thought I was seeing things and had to show my Mum! They got darker and darker over the course of a week. Evaporation lines can be really confusing though. I had to be really strict with myself not to recheck tests after the time was up. Great that its helped you make your mind up that you really do want another baby though.

Books, it was the tights that caught him out. I thought they might be a bit on the large side when I bought them, he couldn't decide so got her fully dressed then thought her feet looked floppy so changed his mind and put trousers and socks on instead.

Dd is sat here wide awake playing with her wonder/water block thingies, she loves them. Thanks for that idea Tree, they have been very well received not only by dd, but by both her brothers and several other children who came to the party. Other favourite birthday present was a little wooden egg shaker that I bought her in the sales, cost 1.50 and she absolutely loves it.

moosemama · 17/01/2010 20:13

Sorry, Gumps, took too long to type that as had to stop dd throwing her toys at the dogs through the dog gate.

Don't be despondent, it will happen. When is your period due? Are you late yet? Could just be testing too early.

Going off at a slight tangent. Has anyone else not had a period yet or is it just me? Dd is still bf and is currently taking 3/4 feeds a day. I felt sure they would come back as soon as she dropped below 5, but not had any previous experience as only fed to 6 months with the boys.

Hello! Posting from phone so excuse millions of typos. Gumps same happened to me with ds - seems I was pg after all hope it happens for you soon if not now.
Those who said about feeding, I am pleased it kind of ended like it did iyswim but miss feeding him although feel much better since I stopped, back to myself more, less spacy with hormones!
Party sounds fab moose, haven't tackled your birth story yet as on phone but looking forward to it.
Dog- are you 'out' on fb yet?

Lenni · 17/01/2010 20:29

Tree - sleep clinic my friend used is in hull which I think is too far? But apparently there are others, she said gp was best person to ask since hv's tend to be crap and tell you to do the whole cc thing which just isn't going to help. She asked for a referral but already knew clinic existed. She is a mnetter too so will mention you and she'll prob get in touch through here.

ooops, missing a lot.....caught up with bidding for job-lots of duplo on ebay with Z's xmas money

Happy birthday to H!

Moose, party and cake etc sound fab and Tink party sounds/looks fab too.

Gumps at test for you, but may still be too early and think of the fun you can have trying in the next month if its not to be!!

Dog- Have you eaten yet?

Lenni- No luck at interview the other day?

Knackered but back starting to feel better, hurrah! Just in time for work.

Lenni · 17/01/2010 21:02

Posted about interview on fb Pat but no luck was proper gutted as I really wanted that job. Was too good to be true though, really messed up the interview too, but it was a very hard interview as they go. Worst I've ever experienced anyhow!

Have seen 3 days job share in a Special School nearby that think might go for, but really want something different to teaching. Can't wait forever to find something I really want though - next week we'll have full nursery fees to pay and I'm not earning enough from childminding my nephew to cover those so will be out of pocket. I can finally get my dissertation submitted with the time though and need to focus on that rather than worrying about DCs being in nursery/preschool unnecessarily.

Good luck with the duplo - we bought a massive box of it from an NCT sale for a fiver a couple of years ago and it gets a lot of use.

120 · 17/01/2010 21:04

Pat, glad you are feeling better.

Been a bit of day here. kids had swimming this morning so we only opened his two pressies this afternoon (we didn't get him one as the party is somewhat extravagent for a one year old!) They were a click-clack track and a steiff teddy, both gorgeous and much appreciated.

Then we went out for a late lunch, all lovely and well until we got home and realised we had our video camera stolen/lost. I think I'm going to have to do a reward sign as it has DD's first steps all the way up to the present day, a lot of which I don't have anywhere else. Bastards. We only bought it two years ago and I can't afford to replace it, esp with no insurance.

Haven't really thought through the implications of H turning one. With DD I cried first thing in the morning. Then again I was pregnant and didn't yet know it. I think that is making me feel a bit down too; wouldn't want another gap that close but still... I think we are all feeling a bit the same way.

Okay am posting birth story next... feel free to skip!
