Happy 2010 everyone! Cast your mind back to this time last year... [soppy]

Too much wine - excuse for thread title should it be shite rubbish when I read it tomorrow. Thought it was time to wave goodbye to the festive one, although perhaps we should have waited for epiphany?

120 am liking your primate art.

Thanks for allt he good wishes one and all. Don't feel particularly calm or colelcted on the inside, I guess there is so much stuff going on at the moment that there isn't time to fall apart...am feeling rather ont he emotional side but seem to be keeping it together...I think its just sinking in with me and DH that this is going to be a bit of a long haul for all of us. My work and friends and MN have been so lovely that it feels like we've got a lot of support....and I am eating a lot of chocolate just for good measure. I think my main focus is jsut for Jude to be ok and we'll cope with whatever comes along ont hat journey iyswim, anyway ramble ramble bleh bleh bleh..... Shouldn't be on MN at work!

treedelivery · 12/01/2010 11:52

HKZ - I can imagine. You have to just hold it together, no choice really. But you can have a melt here and a rant if you ever need too.

Hello MsSparkle! You know I'm not pregnant don't you - the egg donation worked. Don't want to let you down in 32 weeks

Have got H birthday pressi, which will link to in a mo. She is shuoting at me from her highchair.

VeryHungryLennipillar · 12/01/2010 14:40

HKZ - If it's any help I'm cyber handholding for you, think about little J every day. You are doing an amazing job, there will be time for falling apart once he's better. And we'll always be here for you.

Horrid about Rosa Dog what a nasty thing to do.

Survived first day at preschool unscathed, unfortunately nursery was a complete disaster. But I have a job interview next week if get through telephone assessment this week(which I still haven't been contacted about and am starting to twitch nervously over) so at least it seems everything might be coming together and there will be purpose to putting DS through the settling in process.

MsSparkle · 12/01/2010 14:42

Tree so your not pregnant? >>confused, thick emotionno pun intented

treedelivery · 12/01/2010 14:43

For H's birthday I have bought this. If it doesn't link straiht there, try again. That seems to work, oddly! It has only taken about 6 months and a thread to decide which one to get

I got this card, because I couldn't afford 2 pictures. I bouht the £8 gift wrap, but resisted the £6 gifttags. I expect praise for that

In my defence, the gift wrap will also be used to line the back of these I got 6 It's ok though as I had a voucher that the donor couple got me as a thank you gift I thought I would have 2 for each daughter....and 2.....er......spare......and one would be for new born memories [ankle bracelet and announcement card etc] and one for a Christening memory box, or maybe even a 'current' box. Like last holiday or starting school or whatever.

I'm going to hang them all on a little wall for us all to have a nosey at and big chats.

My only hope is that they are a decent size. They are suspiciously cheap and give no details. We'll see. To return them would cost a bomb so they better be ok!

ODD day today. H has slept. She fell asleep in the car and I put her in her cot and she slept 1.5 hours, woke up, ate, we walked to Sainsbusy. She fell asleep on the way home and soon I will wake her for the school run.

This would be ok, this is easy! Prob just as well this is not my life or I would never make it back to work. I'd not want to leave! Remind me of the days of screaming and holding her whilst having a wee and not being able to wash up one handed when I have to go back - cheers!

Tree you bad, bad lady you. I love, love, love the stuff on that site. Its exactly the style dh and I have been looking at for dd's room (yes, I know we've changed our minds about a million times). We were looking at similar style prints from Made in Pixieland and thinking of doing a sort of vintage look, toadstools and pixie type thing. Dh is very keen to do a mural. He is very artistic, but in my experience murals either look lovely or complete pants, so I'm a bit hesitant to agree to that one. We do have a fantastic carved wooden toadstool that we persuaded a hippy shop to sell us years and years ago (it was part of their window display and we had to pester them for weeks).

Love those frames as well. What a lovely idea to display memories for daily enjoyment and reminiscences, rather than just boxing them up and keeping them in the loft or somewhere.

Books, you are also a bad lady, I am now going to have to peruse the pumpkin patch sale as well and I should be working through my mahoosive to do list.

Ms Sparkle, lovely to hear from you. Feels like its been an age. Has it, or is it just me being crap hopeless? Finely sounds like a beautiful, big healthy boy. I was at the school today and discovered another Mum's 5 month old daughter is in the same size clothes as dd has just gone into (6-9 months). I swear she didn't believe me, especially when I told her that Mothercare 6-9 sleepsuits just hang off her. Oh and by the way, its the people Tree egg donated to, that are pregnant, hence the congratulations for Tree.

120cms · 12/01/2010 19:38

well I was doing quite well on keeping up with what was going on until tree and books diverted me with their lovely purchases! Off to have a shopping incident of my own.

Thanks for all the encouragement re the watercolour sketches... its amazing as I've kind of fallen in love with the medium and can't believe it. Up til now I've been an ink/print/oils kind of girl and this stuff is so different to work with. kind quick drying and runny and messy. Recommend you all go and buy yourselves a set and basic book now!

Dog, by the way, meant to mention your crumpets! Great aren't they? Did you try one with nutella?

MsSparkle · 12/01/2010 20:15

Oh i get it now, tree donated eggs How thick am i!

I've not been to pumpkin patch.

Moose your dd sounds so diddy and adorable! Finley is big but he has blue eyes and lots of white blond hair and he smiles all the time at people Little charmer he is.

moosemama · 12/01/2010 20:41

Ooo, he sounds munchable MsSparkle.

Dd is definitely diddy, but has a cheeky twinkle in her eye and always up to mischief. She's a tiny tearaway!

Don't think she's the smallest though, that would be Tree's H or possibly Dog's I or Tink's B. It's funny how all the girls are tiddlers but most of the boys are big on this thread.

treedelivery · 12/01/2010 20:50

/mine has grown!! Now a mahoosive 17.7 lbs. We are proud. She is also a bit of a loon, very physical and brave, and strong willed. She shouts at me!

Would like a bite of babysparkle!

moosemama · 12/01/2010 21:14

Tree, she sounds a lot like E! She is such a daredevil compared to her brothers. In fact I was just saying as much on this thread.

She also enjoys a good shout at her poor ol' Mum and spends a considerable amount of time during the day standing at the bench in the bay window shouting 'Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!' at full volume, most preterbed that he has the audacity to go to work and leave her every day.

Her other favourite trick is launching herself on top of her brothers full force then rolling around the floor beating them up (head butting, hair pulling, face slapping etc) while they scream like a pair of girlies and laugh until they are red in the face. Dh and I have tried to put a stop to this as she now thinks hitting etc is funny. They just don't seem to get it and just say "but she's only a baby'. Personally I can't wait for the day she gets expelled from toddler group for beating up the bigger kids!

Tis 'Bonkers Babe in this house Books. Seems to suit her somehow.

I love the term 'just a minute child', describes poor dd perfectly.

120cms · 12/01/2010 22:12

Mine is bonkers... just a limpet. If he spots me at all, he hightails it away from whatever he is doing and attaches himself to my leg... think he can hear me; he's just started moaning.

MsSparkle · 12/01/2010 22:23

I have set up a profile page and put some pics of finley on there

moosemama · 12/01/2010 22:38

Aw, sooo cute and those beautiful, big blue eyes. What a sweetie!

Dog, hope you are feeling a bit better now. Dd does that weird crawl walk thing. More of a scamper than a crawl really, one knee on the ground then drags herself forward using the other foot. She's really fast too, perhaps the foot acts as an accelerator, lol. My HV commented on it, so I was worried it was just my dd that did it and it meant she had sore hips or something, although she seems perfectly happy. I'm relieved to hear she's not the only one.

Books, no we didn't take it the wrong way, I think it sounds like we all have bonkers babies, so we got where you were coming from.

Ridiculous farce of a school run this morning, snowing heavily, up to the top of my Dr Marten boots in depth, the roads haven't been gritted but LEA saying all school are open! Dh has his appraisal so left early and I ended up having a complete meltdown because both boys were been hopeless and uncooperative (I had asked ds1 9 times to put his gloves on before I lost it though). Struggled through the snow (thank goodness for my lovely all terrain buggy) was told umpteen different stories about school opening/closing on the way down the road, then got to the school to be told by the Head that they are open and have enough local staff to cover chidren, but if the LEA says close they will so they are currently not sure not sure how long they will be open for! Apparently we have to watch the website and twitter for updates! Ridiculous. The crossing lady was spitting teeth about it as she kept hearing different versions of what was happening and she is so lovely she would make sure she is there for as long as it takes to get all the children to and from school safely - a bit difficult if its all in drips and drabs really.

Right am off for coffee and brack before I get dragged back to the school (no time for breakfast this morning).
