I am so blessed to be part of this group. We are starting another year together, our 3rd but who's counting. May you each have a happy and healthy one. I look forward to more meetups, more FBing, more Skyping, more Waving, more crazy tales, more laughter, more hand holding, and more support than is humanly possible! XOX

Cece - I have a lap tray as it can get a bit hot on my lap. DH moans if I put it on the sofa arm as it marks the leather.

cyteen · 11/01/2010 21:46

16th Feb works for me

Buckets you've inspired me to take action against the encroaching lard, in the only way possible when the streets are this cold and icy

Keep forgetting to say, no1 here is a lovely recent song to calm your fretful thoughts. I heard it again recently and it made me think of you, so.

hotterpotter · 11/01/2010 21:53

Sazz it's half term so cece and I will both have 2 DC with us. I am up for driving somewhere

Just trying to decide whether I can be arsed changing energy supplier.

CaptainCaveman · 11/01/2010 21:54

Just playing mario kart against dh

So far the laptop is on the cushion...may need to invest in a lap tray

Did someone say we are all going on holiday?

CaptainCaveman · 11/01/2010 21:58

oooh, where shall we go? It's bound to be cold and rainy/snowy so a picnic on the beach may be out of the question! You're all more than welcome at mine!!

2 hours until what?

I can't decide whether to cap or not if changing supplier, I could save well over £100 so it must be worth it surely. Aaargh.

CaptainCaveman · 11/01/2010 22:23

Look at this, first time in forever I get to chat in the evening and you've all run away . Should I take offence?

I shall have to go and lurk on other threads....

More snow

We are mid-thaw today thank feck as I am pretty much sick of it by now, actually been out in the car today, and broken the 100-mile mark, hurrah! I even varied my route, as well as going to Asda again I have been to Argos too. Oh I am so classy but at least I have clean carpets after my hoover died last week

Off to see how to get to Nottingham...

CaptainCaveman · 11/01/2010 22:35

lol sazz I actually did just LOL at that . Do enjoy your dump, but remember don't push too hard, thats how you get piles .

cece it's No1 who is in Rotherham, I'm in Wakefield

CaptainCaveman · 11/01/2010 22:51

Aha yes of course hotpot, about 1hr 20 from here dh reckons. Straight down the M1 to junction 26 or you could come off at 28 and do a bit of cross-country.

cyteen you could get a train to Nottingham and I can pick you up from the station (if I put ds1 in the boot, otherwi0se you'd have to travel with a car seat

CaptainCaveman · 11/01/2010 22:54

Right then, I am off to bed as am knackered due to a 5.45 start with O this morning

Got to work tomorrow evening , doing a recruitment fair to try and drag attract some staff to our many vacancies!

Good night lovely ladies

hotterpotter · 11/01/2010 22:56

I am already feeling sick at the thought of the M1

Right I have changed energy tariffs and hopefully saved a few pounds so am off to bed to finish my rather excellent book before it gets too late. Busy day tomorrow cleaning/putting away then we are having a rota which will hopefully ease some of the tension in our house. Two laptops has already helped a lot in that respect

lwfhthevampireslayer · 12/01/2010 01:05

Thank you so much for the parcel, which my MIL brought by earlier this evening. Really lovely, thoughtful, and things that are beautiful and practical.

I have posted a photo of DD with her new blanket here

Oh and hotterpotter - on Sunday I practised a bit of driving (I can drive, I do have a license, I just haven't braved driving in BA yet) in a quiet area. DS laughed so much when I got into the drivers side and carried on laughing until I parked up. Mum driving, clearly hilarious.

TwilightSurfer · 12/01/2010 01:48

hi...bye
very busy day for some reason.
love to all.
hopefully i'll find time to chat properly after pilates tomorrow.
it's a big day there because a reporter will be doing a bit about the studio.
we were emailed that we might even be in pictures.
clearly i will shower before class tomorrow.
although you can't smell a photograph.
ciao.

Poor DS has had a horrible last day of holiday. He has a chest infection and also had a fall (whilst MIL was looking after him) and split his lip and looks like he has chipped one of his front teeth! I took him to the doctor this morning and he had a major tantrum whilst the doctor, nurse and I tried to get him into a position so the doctor could look down his throat. I have to wait until he's feeling a bit better before I can inflict a visit to the dentist on him - I don't suppose this will matter but no idea really?

luckoftheirish · 12/01/2010 07:30

morning..

meetup in nottingham???!!!!!! I CAN DO THAT!! It will be my first one meep.. but could definitely do that so PLease count me in ..

Spring so sorry to hear about poor ds {hugs} hopes he feels better soon and the trip to the dentist not too bad when he recovers..

well my dd2 never slept yesterday!! i am truly hoping its a blip cos full days with a wild toddler and no nap is very hard work!!!.. hopefully weather permitting she is off to the cm for a few hours and the cm is like a sleep charm as dd2 always sleeps for her ...

Singaporesling I wouldn't bother with the dentist til he's about 2 and maybe more co-operative. DS1 has had a chipped front tooth since he was about 18m, doesn't seem to have bothered him and it will get replaced in the next couple of years anyway.

Off into town with Squirt to get his feet measured and try to spend les than £30 on new shoes. Then library and maybe coffee/brunch/oh go on then lunch at arty community cafe.

Why are wellies so cold on the toes? Am wondering if there is room to stuff mine with hankies for a bit of insulation. Am already wearing 2prs of socks. Perhaps Miamla could invent some sort of knitted toe-sock that you glue inside your wellies?

dizzydixies · 12/01/2010 11:00

LWFH thats brilliant you got your parcel - M is just lovely well done you on the driving, I always have to drive when we're in Spain because I know the area and I still don't like it

C - I think I'm a bit far for the meet up

Singapore - I'm with buckets here - DD2 chipped her front tooth in half about 20 fecking seconds after it came through. It has unfortunately gone grey but the dentist (and trust me that was NOT a visit I relished or would care to repeat) told me just to leave it and watch for a blister above the tooth - only then would something be done. I can't wait for her to loose her teeth and see her with her lovely new ones. Hope he is feeling better very soon though

Powercut here last night just after 9pm until 4am (approx) so I went to bed with torch and magazine
