I am so blessed to be part of this group. We are starting another year together, our 3rd but who's counting. May you each have a happy and healthy one. I look forward to more meetups, more FBing, more Skyping, more Waving, more crazy tales, more laughter, more hand holding, and more support than is humanly possible! XOX

Dizzy - shall I send you a load of booze to get DH in the right 'place' to agree to DD4?

hotterpotter · 08/01/2010 21:28

TS who says you can't dress boys in frilly things????????? DS has developed quite an attachment to a sparkly pink and lilac feather boa his sister got for Christmas

dizzydixies · 08/01/2010 21:29

oops just the mere suggestion of right placing gets him in the mood

but I shall obviously gladly recieve the free loads of booze, just to be polite you understand

how is the matty clothes hunt for Oz going?

TwilightSurfer · 08/01/2010 21:36

HP not at this age really but later on the role of boy/girl becomes more defined for boys but has a lot of gray for girls. By 15 if a girl wants to play hockey, that's fine but if a 15 year old boy wants to wear boas and party dresses....that's fine too for some but not my DH. Am I digging a hole? I'm not meaning too. Was just trying to extoll the loveliness of girls since that's all I have and know.

Boys are lovely too. And having one or more of each is excellent as well.

I would love to have a little girl as well. Or another boy. Or maybe one of each...

hotterpotter · 08/01/2010 21:43

I do know what you mean TS - the number of men who are all at the thought of their sons cuddling a doll, or heaven forbid playing with a pushchair makes me want to weep .

They are all brilliant with their own good and bad points I think. Also I know it is not scientific with my sample size of two but it is amazing how different girl and boy babies are, even at such a young age

dizzydixies · 08/01/2010 21:43

poor TS you're getting in quite a tizz when not one of us would presume to believe that you were championing girls over boys and breath..........

hotterpotter · 08/01/2010 21:44

Cyteen sweetie you have loads of time to have two or even three more

oopsandbabycoconut · 08/01/2010 21:45

Dizzy - I got a couple of pairs of matty shorts from New look in the sale £3 pair have loads of t-shirts and a few pairs of shorties/skirts from last time that fitted at term. I have a smartish dress for dinners out. I think I should shop there get by.

dizzydixies · 08/01/2010 21:52

oops there are some lovely matty brands in Oz

I'm not sure if I have anything else left over but am planning a big clear out of the wardrobe next week so if I find something lurking I'll pop it down in the post

hotterpotter · 08/01/2010 21:54

How long till you go now oops? Are you excited?

I have a friend who emigrated and lives near Melbourne. He is gutted at all the snow he is missing; apparently it is very hot there at the moment [meep]

oopsandbabycoconut · 08/01/2010 21:59

We go in 8 days and 11 hours 56 minutes HP - Not that I'm counting!

hotterpotter · 08/01/2010 22:02

I went to Australia when i was 19 way back in 1987. Apart from being escorted out of Canberra by the cops it was amazing

Miamla · 08/01/2010 22:05

boys are lovely but a girl would be just as lovely

Miamla · 08/01/2010 22:06

you see, by cunningly having DC2 at the same time of year as DS, i'm sorted for maternity clothes for all the right seasons already
only problem is that i'm starting off a bit bigger but hey, just gives me an excuse to get my sewing machine out

Miamla · 08/01/2010 22:06

wow Oops, didn't realise it was so soon!

hotterpotter · 08/01/2010 22:14

oopsandbabycoconut · 08/01/2010 22:20

a nuggar Dizz? wine??

oopsandbabycoconut · 08/01/2010 22:21

Thanks VG - although I'm not sure you have done anything that wrong to deserve to be snowed in with a Mum who would rather be at home, 4 dogs, 2 energetic boys!!

dizzydixies · 08/01/2010 22:22

oops - its actually Nugget but said in an Australian accent - you're going to have to learn the lingo before you go

right girls to go with Poppy then? I think I know someone that could help lol
