I am so blessed to be part of this group. We are starting another year together, our 3rd but who's counting. May you each have a happy and healthy one. I look forward to more meetups, more FBing, more Skyping, more Waving, more crazy tales, more laughter, more hand holding, and more support than is humanly possible! XOX

Get some sleep Dizz - it will all be clearer in the morning

dizzydixies · 04/01/2010 21:59

do you know oops, I think I might take DH upstairs for an early night, we have a school run in the morning dontcha you

night all

hotterpotter · 04/01/2010 22:21

Helloo, anyone still there???

I have been out to the supermarket tonight after seeing tomorrow's forecast . Have discovered I love driving in the dark but that Asda does not have any veg for sale at night

Buckets on the rare occasion I make 'carbonara' I use cheapo low fat creme fraiche and it is delish

steaknife · 04/01/2010 22:50

I'm here

In a bit of a dither as I seem to have moved to Dorset and back this evening.

You can all go over and gasp in wonder at the bad photo prettyness of Sazz's gift from her SS over here

steaknife · 04/01/2010 22:52

[shameless self-promotion]

hotterpotter · 04/01/2010 22:55

LOL steaky but you did give the game away a bit posting a picture of it on facebook!

I was Dizzy's and Loti was my secret santa

Room looks so empty without the tree, shame the hoover is dying as there are one or two pine needles around

steaknife · 04/01/2010 23:04

Ah that was akchooly shamless self-promotion via Twitter which links to facebook - all trying to get towards getting my arse into gear for crafting world domination. Or at least earning a crust from it.

hotterpotter · 04/01/2010 23:08

Well it was very beautiful

I should really go to bed, got work on Wednesday so need to try and reset my internal clock. Forecast is looking pretty snowy for the next few days though, I hope the trains are OK as I sure as hell ain't driving into Leeds in the snow

hotterpotter · 05/01/2010 00:01

Hope you are not all off copying Miamla Sazz hope it goes OK tomorrow - is this it now or will you be angling for a bit more mat leave?

Right it's cold here and don't want to put heating back on / too late to light the fire (times like this I really miss the gas fire) so off to fill up my hot water bottle and snuggle into bed. Night night

Morning all. A light sprinkling of snow here so staying in our PJs for as long as possible.
Or it might just have been a super heavy frost. Still staying in our jammies though.

DD slept so well last night. Went down without a peep at 6, a few little wake ups but was shusshed back immediately - I think it was the cold - and didn't wake till gone 8. Terrific!

How is everyone else today?

oopsandbabycoconut · 05/01/2010 09:17

Morning all

We are all frozen in here and waiting for a large dumping of snow later. DD slept ok but woke a 4.30 demanding to be in our bed I refused she protested for 30mins then fell into a deep slumber until 8.30 making DH late for work.

Steaky - yay for good night. Snow by the sea how fantastic!

OOOOhh I'm glad I didn't leave my car on the side of the road last night - the milk float has just slid sideways into my spot dropping a whole load of milk on his way. Poor man - do I brave going to help him? bearing in mind I am in my jammies, DD is in a vest and nappy - I think for his own safetly - No!

steaknife · 05/01/2010 09:30

Oops that sounds like a Frank Spencer sketch waiting to happen.

Postie just delivered my SS present - I was a little bit of all the SS chat last night, but new it would arrive at some point, so perfect timing.
And it is lovely - I have a million notebooks on the go, but this will be saved just for pretty ideas and musings and it is handbag sized too. perfect perfect perfect. Thank you SS who I think was VG?

hotterpotter · 05/01/2010 09:38

OMG thank flip I did a panic trip to Asda last night, we're almost snowed in!!!!!!!!

3 inches in the last 2.5 hours, it looks sooo pretty outside. Nursery cancelled so looks like a snowman day today

Hope you all get/don't get snow according to your particular preference

Miaml wow congratulations to you, what lovelt news to start the New Year.

I am very and a bit also [girn]

cc I have had it pointed out that my pony purchase was a baby substitute. So if you are thinking of a dog, it may not fill that longing gap.

hotter we are also snowed in. but for the cabin fever that will have set in by lunch time.

dh came home form work this am and said it was very bad getting home.
oops at that, my dh said that might happen here as my car is at the front, and a car has just been abonded in front of mine as he couldn't move any further.

Snow not stopped since about 5am, and does not look like it is about too soon.

albsso sorry you are struggling with the sleep, we also seem to have took a step backwards. I have to sit and cuddle ds now, and back to laying with dd again.
I am just not in the right frame of mind to do much else about it atm.
Hope you get it sorted and hope you liked the ss
ts I also do the OCM like steaky it is great, but have lapsed with that a bit lately. Must get back on track because My face gets rather dirty, mucking out the horses etc...

I was supposed to being going out for tea tonight as it is my dnephew(11) Birthday today and my dsister (13) birthday tomorw, so was having joint celebration, but noone can get out in this.

Hi to everyone, will try to catch up when I can. ds has just tipped a punnet of blueberries everywhere and is trying to shove them in as quickly as he can...

GladioliBuckets · 05/01/2010 10:29

Oops How about Willem? I know a little boy called that, it's not too peculiar thanks to Willem Dafoe.

Going to make some raspberry and marzipan muffins and hope that my past-use-by-then-frozen-and-defrosted-3-days-ago raspberries will stand up to the task.

steaknife · 05/01/2010 10:30

Right wish me luck ladies, about to phone and turn down the London job.

Reasons being...

1 - would have to fund the move via my credit card and would spend the first year paying that off out of the increased funds so wouldn't start paying back the Bank of Mum until 2011.
2 - don't want to have to move again.
3 - I like it where I am
4 - I have given myself a year to get the crafty business going. Mum has agreed to take DD one day a week so I can get organised then I'll go to working tax credits and do 2 - 3 full days a week on the business as well as evenings etc.

Well thats the nuts and bolts really and I do feel better having 99% decided!

Arf at dogs licking frozen milk puddles.

hotterpotter · 05/01/2010 10:30

Steaky your secret santa was Red. Glad it arrived at last!

Wotcha No1 and VG, lovely to see you both

hotterpotter · 05/01/2010 10:34

Steaky fwiw I think you are absolutely doing the right thing. It sounds like you could always go back into that work world if you changed your mind, but it would be much harder to do that and then try the crafty stuff. You are so talented I'm sure you can make a success of it

Wotcha too Buckets, your muffins soound delish and I'm sure the raspberries will be fine. Not so sure about the mince I defrosted on Thursday then accidentally left out all night last night...

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 05/01/2010 10:39

vg Hi, glad that your mum is feeling much better and up to going home.
buckets I was going to make bluberry muffins, but have none left now.
Marzipan mmmmmmmmmmm. Didn't realise I could have used that in a muffin. I have a full packet too.
steaky well done for making the decision, must have been a bit of a 'head doer' good for you on the craft business, I can't wait to get some time to get back into making my bears and getting a site up and running.

hotter Hi, how is it your house atm?
I dd was looking forward to school this am, and I was going to take ds to meet some netmum friends.
Now stuck indoors and waiting for boredem to set in.

hotterpotter · 05/01/2010 10:46

netmums

Just promise not to like them as much as us

DD driving us demented and nursery cancelled so think I will wrap them up warm and get out in it

steaknife · 05/01/2010 10:50

Blighters aren't in the office yet! hummph.
Right time to bundle up and get some milk then wrestle put DD down for a nap.

dizzydixies · 05/01/2010 10:52

not too bad up here with us but bloody cold, DD1 off to school and frankly all the parents looked a touch manic dropping them off

Dylan up at 6am with an overnight dirty nappy for the second night in a row she's bloody miserable today so has had paracetamol/ibuprofen and now back to bed but had to be snuggled to sleep for the first time in a very long time. Am now late for visiting friend, supposed to be there at 10.30, haven't had shower and DD2 seems to think she's an acrobat today for some reason

Steaky - agree with Hots and think you're making the right choice

No1 - sorry you're missing your party and meet up

VG good luck getting mammy home - where is Red btw - have you heard from her?

TS hope that wasn't you up at some ungodly hour during the night

Oops - just you stay indoors, we don't do pregnant dancing on ice on this thread

hots - glad you're all stocked up we're a bit mother hubbard here

Sazz - hope its going ok darling

right, really am off before am REALLY REALLY late, was going to make a cake to take but haven't had time due to shennaginans of the morning

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 05/01/2010 10:56

LOL how could I like them as much as you lot.
They meet weekly at a pub just round the corner for me and I hardly ever go. Yet I go to London to meet you lot.
I think that says it all.

I am tempted to go out in it, if they start moaning, but not tempted enough yet.
Not sure My pram will get through it despite it being all terrain. and my back is still very sore from falling down the stairs so not up to using the sling either.

May make a snowman if things get bad.
